  1. The piece of track that starts to taper off on one end is that the piece with a cut out for trim breaks? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm assuming that's what those circle cut outs are? Actually I think I see circle cut outs on a few different pieces pictured.
  2. I know most don't agree but SOB was my favorite Coaster at KI before it's removal. But Mean Streak on the other hand I could do without.
  3. Maybe GCI could try something like an RMC like a wood steel hybrid coaster.
  4. RMC woody for 2017 and we get a giga for our 50th anniversary!
  5. They might not need it till August but track fabrication is a long process so they might need to be making it now so a lot of it ready by August.
  6. The box section on the green track looks larger. Or is that just me?
  7. I personally like that color green for a coaster at KI. As long as it's not another coaster painted with a different shade of dark red/maroon.
  8. If we are getting a B&M I would think there would almost have to be some track made for it already. The pieces of track take several weeks to make. And there is so many sections of track to make especially for something like a giga. Even after each piece is fabricated and welded, every piece needs to be ultra sound tested to check for hardness depth and to check for cracks. Then each piece sits outside for weeks so that rust can eat away at any loose or excess metal around all the edges. Then every piece gets sand blasted before it gets painted with a chemical primer. That's alot of work and alot of time for each piece of track. Unless we're getting a woody or no coaster at all, there has to be some track in there somewhere for KI.
  9. There is a video on B&M track fabrication at Claremont Steel. It's about 10 minutes is actually very interesting. Not sure hot to post videos on here though.
  10. They put the track outside to let "nature take its course"
  11. Have to start somewhere so why not. KI is my home park but I visit Cedar Point much more often and almost every time I'm there Mean Streak is closed. Also I very rarely see the line longer than 5 to 10 minute wait.
  12. I think Mean Streak will be the next Coaster at CP to be removed and hopefully replaced with an RMC
  13. I think both Drop Tower and Eiffel Tower are 315 ft tall which a giga could easily be taller than. Fury is
  14. Doesn't necessarily mean anything but he didn't even try to deny it at all when asked about the "2017 Coaster". Probably looking to much into it but his reaction to that question makes me happy.
  15. Like I said I realize not every Coaster installation take the same amount of time or work within the same time frame. This is just my opinion based on what I have seen in the past and what I'm seeing now. Again I really do hope im wrong and we will have to wait and see. I hope so see some significant progress in the next couple weeks. Maybe then I will change my mind.
  16. ^yes I know but I'm kinda just basing my opinion on what I have seen with the last two Coaster installments at KI. Even if their trying to keep as many trees as possible they still need to clear out enough to get an the equipment, trucks, track, and supports where they need to be especially if it were to be a giga. The area needed for all that stuff would need to be even larger. I'm not saying that there is no way it can be a coaster, is just at this point if there doesn't appear to be some major progress on the next couple weeks I will change my mind about it being a coaster.
  17. Hopefully it's not. I don't have anything against B&M. I love Banshee and Diamondback but I would like to see something a little different from Mack or RMC maybe. I don't think that will happen. B&M seems to be Cedar Fairs go to company right now. But I guess it depends on what exactly their looking for.
  18. This discussion has almost come to a complete stop this weekend. If there isnt some progress with clearing this week I think I'm going to officially jump off the rollercoaster bandwagon on this this one. I realize not every Coaster if constructed at the same time frame, but at this point in the season not only did Banshee and Diamondback have their areas cleared, they also both had footers poured. Maybe and hopefully I am wrong, but the rate of construction on this project doesn't point to a coaster to me anymore.
  19. Maybe these "keys" will make up some of what the new ride will have? The Diamondback ones show the drop, and the splashdown. I have not seen the Firehawk snap yet, but possibly flying? For about the 8 millionth time. The park's Snap Chat is filled with various bits of "hip millenial" social media lingo. The "major key" thing is nothing more than an attempt to gear the Snap Chats toward that specific audience. It's got nothing to do with keyholes or splash downs or ride interactions. http://time.com/4172848/dj-khaled-keys-to-success/ http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/22/arts/music/for-dj-khaled-snapchat-is-a-major-key-to-success.html http://www.theroot.com/blogs/the_grapevine/2016/01/dj_khaled_is_taking_over_snapchat_one_major_key_alert_at_a_time.html There's also Urban Dictionary if you're interested in further explanation. I won't link to that though since this is a family friendly site. Why so serious? (In Heaths joker voice)!
  20. I won't be mad if it's not a coaster. I would be disappointed. Everyone here has an idea of what they wish it to be and everyone will experience some level of disappointment of its not what they hope.
  21. If they won't work with Intamin I would like to see something from Mack Rides or RMC
