  1. I wouldn't be surprised to see us get some flying scooters again with them being installed lately in most of the parks. Though with everythign they are doing already I think next year is more likely. Be a cheap addition to be able to list something new for next year. Alos while I would love to get our Flying Eagles back due to the history of it I agree that I think it's more likely we would jsut get a new set. Seems like a lot of extra cost to dismantle and ship them back to us from Carowinds and give them a new one. A new one with a Bavarian type theme I think would go great into Oktoberfest to expand that area a bit. Like to see them reomve the Coke station and ladder game from their currnet spot and put them there. Could relocate teh ladder game and Coka station somewhere else in the park as well.
  2. I believe that Jungle Jim's bought it. And I would love to see the circle made something like what TTD posted for Disney's hub.
  3. Might have just had a faulty ac that day or something. I only remember going on it once.
  4. Yea I only have slight memories of it from when I was a kid. I remember going on the monorail but I really don't recall anything about it, except that it got really hot inside them. But the area looks fantastic and wish there was still something like it around.
  5. I disagree with them needing to remove trees for better views of the rides. The trees at the park are on of the best aspects of it. The wooded closed in nature gives it a very different feel. Just imagine how The Beast would be if the woods were all cleared away just so people could see the ride better from the midway, it would lose a large portion of its appeal and charm. I'm all for adding more trees where possible.
  6. Well you could retheme it slightly to fit into Rivertown and give it an old west stage show and saloon feel. Could make it sort of like Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris where they tweeked Haunted Mansion slightly to fit in with a wild west theme. Or if they wanted to keep the same queue and all they could put in a haunted mine themed dark ride and then most of the scenery there would still work as is. I would love to see at least some new dark ride added in the park that is more on the caliber of Phantom Theatre as well. That is the ride I miss most of any that was there. I would ride it over and over on every visit. Even watching the old videos you can tell it wasn't an extremely high quality but it is still very good by today's standards. Compared to about any other regional park's dark rides it would probably still be the best, only being beaten out by Disney and Universal. The fact that such a lackluster attraction as Scooby Doo/Boo Blaster took it's place is what I think makes it worse. Would have been ok with the change if it was the same quality but it feels so cheap and as others have said it never seems to work well. Wish they would at least give it a refurb and better guns where you can see where you're shooting at too. Honestly I think if they want to keep the cheaper look but have it be better is to give it a Peanuts theme and make it part of Planet Snoopy. The 2d cut out would actually fit the look a bit for the characters at least.
  7. I still don't think they'd put a small flat where the circle is but it could fit. The one difference between the flying carpets at Disney and the circle area is that around the carpets there is no other things to draw a line into that area, where as the Ice Cream Zone is right there so it would cause more congestion, but they could route the people for it to the side more. Not sure how busy that gets either. Would be a cool to have another ride there but I think a new symbol for the area like a Stonehenge type structure or something would be really cool too.
  8. I agree with most others. I think the theme and everything is fine as it is but it could use a little TLC. Fix up some of the lights and effects with the UFO and things, maybe upgrade some of it a bit too. Would really like to see that area get some work done on it next as a whole. Add a flat ride or two and some restrooms, maybe a food stand too and make it it's own full fledged section.
  9. After Kings Dominion announced they were doing it I was hoping the other parks would. Have been curious to check it out but didn't want to pay the extra amount now I'll get a chance to.
  10. I agree a lot with what Delirium said. The biggest thing I'd like is Urgent Scare to be brought to its opening standard as well. It was an amazing maze when it opened and had a full thought out story and design. Now it just seems like every other one in the park. Madame Fatale's is my favorite currently. Love to see a new one with similar level of theming as it has. I would be fine having a couple mazes taken out to have a new one with more immersive theming and design put in. Maybe take out Club Blood and put something better in that area that would fit the area with The Bat and Banshee there. Wolf Pack is good as it is and fits in with the dark woods/myth type theme of that section right now. Think if they did these two and it gave us 3 top notch mazes along with the other good to great ones we have then Haunt there would be awesome. (Not that it isn't already great.)
  11. The camera on Face/Off was between the vertical loop and the second lift.
  12. I really wish they would add water back to the Stunt Track. Even if the cannons didn't work or anything think it would look better just having some water in there.
  13. I would love to see something like Mystery Mine go in to the area where The Crypt stands. It would fit great in that area and looks like a fun ride.
  14. I would love a revamping and expansion in some manner of Oktoberfest. A couple small flats wouldn't be too expensive and could add a lot to it. Think some good additions would be a Flying Scooters ride or spinning barrels or Tilt-A-Whirl
  15. Not sure I see that fitting into Rivertown myself, but it looks like something that would perfectly fit the theme over in X-Base.
  16. I think the fact that it is running through the woods the whole time is enough theming on its own. Don't know many other rapids rides that are as woods as ours. Usually they have all those waterfalls and things so that you don't see the sidewalk that is right next to you with food carts.
  17. It does look brighter and clearer than I remember it from earlier views.
  18. The course? Half the cars were removed, but the course? Terp, who likes to ask questions If I am correct, which I believe I am, the CarnEvil attraction was once the PT course. I could be wrong, and communications on my part, on the course and the cars, but that is what I knew prior to the topic. CarnEvil resides in the former Enchanted Theater immediately next door to Boo Boo's Blasters, and behind The Great Pumpkin Coaster. The course of PT remained exactly the same even during the theme change to Haunted Castle/Boo Hill. What changed was that the Enchanted Voyage originally took residence of both locations to which Paramount split into two separate properties; the left side became an Omnimover, the right a small indoor theater. 1) I didn't actually ride PT until its last year of operation, but I wasn't particularly scared riding it. I was 13 at the time and wouldn't get majorly into haunted houses for another two years. I liked it, however Tomb Raider basically stomped it into the ground in terms of the overall experience and theme (Islands of Adventure had spoiled me). 2) I'd go so far as to say they ought to make the attraction larger by using the Enchanted Theater space and get rid of CarnEvil. They might, realistically-speaking, add the technology from the upcoming Guardian attraction into Boo Boo's (see 4 for my opinion). 3) I unfortunately missed out on most of the new effects because I went in the middle of the season, especially the skull projection effect. That said, heck yeah I'd ride it more if everything worked. To be honest, though, I always ride it at least once every time I'm there, and sometimes I don't even use the guns and just sit and watch. 4) I'd have to actually ride Guardian before I made an actual decision on whether or not I'd want to see it come to KI. Right now, with the basic renderings on their site, it looks worse than what Halloween Productions does with their dark rides (the group behind Garfield's Nightmare at Kennywood and also The Darkness haunted house in St. Louis). If there are any external set pieces that pepper the ride, I'll be fine. But if it's literally just a bunch of screens and no thematic transitions between them, then it's a waste of $10 million. 5) No. The frustrating part is that Busch Gardens Williamsburg has a Spiderman clone with the same technology, which throws a monkey wrench into the whole "seasonal parks can't pull off Universal/Disney-style theming" mantra. Even the simplest carny ride at the Magic Kingdom is intricately themed and detailed. The closest the park has come to even scratching the surface of immerse thematic rides are Flight of Fear, Tomb Raider, and (to a point) Stunt Track. I would love something like Darkastle at our park put I don't see them throwing the money at something like it, especially right after Banshee. Banshee is our most expensive to date at $24M where as Darkastle was around $32M. And that was almost a decade ago so likely cost a little more today. And Busch Gardens is kind of a unique park in that they are so focused on a theme while still being seasonal. Most other seasonal parks will only do a loose theme and not put the money into it that Busch Gardens does so I'd expect theme to spend more on an immersive dark ride than someone like Cedar Fair. Especially now that there is a cheaper option like Wonder Mountain's Guardian. Still can hope for something similar to it one day. I do agree that Guardian would be much better with physical sets between the screens and if they did that then I'd be perfectly happy with that as a ride as well.
  19. Yea I dont' care much but will buy things on occasion and my friends that go dot he souvenir cups and photos a bit. But if we have to pay the prices for lockers to go on Banshee we will all definitely skip buying things in lieu of getting a locker.
  20. How hard is it to put on the straps? I was looking on their website and think that might be a good option for both of us. I wear contacts while at any amusement park and they do dry out on occasion especially when riding coasters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I have glass and contacts. Usually wear the contacts as it is less hassle but do dry out sometimes or shift. When I wear my glasses I just take them off on coasters or big rides like Delirium and hold them in of my hands. Basically fold them and wrap a hand around the sides. have never had an issue with the even slipping a bit. Can still grip a safety ar if you want this way too.
  21. This too would be nice if they really wanted to charge something. I never really carry much with me in the parks but play games on occasion and my friends sometimes get the refillable sodas (I just get cups of water). So be nice for at those times plus just the time saving and increased capacity on the rides
  22. A green coaster wouldn't be bad but I like our color on it a bit better. A bit brighter red at least would be nice. It needs repainted soon too. If you wait long enough we might get that green color, you can already see it in many spots along the track with the current paint is fading away or worn off.
  23. Firehawk is the only flyer I've been on, but I love the flip over at the top so would miss that element on a B&M flyer. Though some of them like Manta do look great still.
  24. I think it'd be nice if they took Universal's approach. No loose articles on any of the major rides. But outside of them they have free short term lockers. Free for a couple hours so you can wait in line and then retrieve your belongings without having to pay. If you decide to leave them in longer then you get charged for the locker use. Then none of the major would have to wait for people to store their belongings in the bin, but if you get the souvenir cups or win prizes you don't have to spend a ton of money on a locker or risk losing the items.
  25. I think if they did something similar to what Disney World did for their Storybook Circus section it could look good. The ground there looks great and it is sort of a brownish concrete with animal foot/hoof prints in it and peanuts embedded intot eh ground.
