  1. Thank you! I've been wondering since Diamondback opened why on earth the tallest coaster in the park is just outside of Planet Snoopy. It's just strange placement in my opinion. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  2. I think he/she was referring to Fury 325.....?Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk ....and I'm not sure how to interpret the rest. Channeling our beloved @Interpreter for this one. *runs for the door and sees it slam on his face*
  3. Yes, please! The odds of us getting an RMC are slim, but that would be a wonderful name for an RMC at KI! Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  4. DARK RIDE!!!!!!! Lessgoooooooooooo! Matt Ouimet has said already (and has already done so in some parks) that he wishes to capitalize on some of the local/regional features of each park in the coming years. He's also said that he foresees placing a dark ride of sorts in each park at some point. Seeing as we just got Banshee 2 years ago, it PROBABLY isn't a new roller coaster. Yes, I know Cedar Point is already getting a new one this year, but let's remember that we're not Cedar Point. So...what I was thinking...was falling trees. What/who lives in our woods/densely tree-filled areas of the park? The Beast. Going off of what we know Mr. Ouimet has already said, maybe it could be a dark ride that features the legacy of The Beast in some way and how it could wreck havoc on our park (and the trees).
  5. Terp, I did hear about that. I actually look forward to reading those news stories once people start moving into those apartments.
  6. There is property on the other side (the side opposite the park) of Kings Island Drive. Does anybody know who owns that property? I know this has about a 0.1% chance of happening, but what are the odds that Kings Island would buy that property some day and create a Disney Springs, Universal CityWalk, etc.? Further elaboration: could anyone foresee Kings Island purchasing the land and putting in shops, restaurants, shows, a hotel etc. that would be open year-round? If that isn't a good location, then what about where the random baseball field is behind/next to the water park? Any chance of anything ever going in there?
  7. Random question; does anybody know how they determine the length of the ride ques for these interactive maps? I'm only asking because the wait-time signs outside the rides are often inaccurate, as anybody -- park guest or associate -- can change them, which can result in the signs saying there is a 120-minute wait, where there is only a five minute wait.
  8. And yes, I know that idea was proposed before. After all, some people thought such an attraction would be going in Banshee's place if I recall correctly. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  9. A legit haunted house in the layout of a dark ride that is open during regular park operation (not just during Haunt) would be pretty legit. As you stated, AZ would be a great place for it too, seeing as there will be a bit of empty land even after Banshee's construction is complete. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  10. Ha ha you're a mean, loving parent
  11. I love seeing pics of the old days
  12. I personally would prefer to see an entirely new story line, something that doesn't involve PT at all. However, if we do get something like what Canada's Wonderland is getting, then I can't complain, regardless of what story line they choose, new, slightly reused, or entirely reused.
  13. Oh ok. I may not have even been alive "years ago", but as stated, yeah, I was almost postive it is/was Rivertown. Again, sorry for the double flaw
  14. I agree with the skeletons being scary enough. They still creep me out ha ha. I apologize for not knowing for certain which area it was considered to be situated in (Rivertown or Planet Snoopy). That's one of those strange rides I was unsure of, like the log flume, which I know is considered to be in Rivertown, which makes no sense to me, but eh oh well Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk Actually, the log flume is considered a part of Planet Snoopy. Mind=blown Was almost positive it was considered Rivertown for some reason that makes absolutely no sense to me. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  15. Oh awkward. Double the apology for stating the wrong place......twice. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  17. Also, I didnt realize that ride was that inexpensive. I expected it to cost MUCH more.
  18. This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read ha ha. I really hope we get something similar to Canada's Wonderland's newest attraction some time in the next 8 years
  19. Many have mentioned Boo Blasters on Boo Hill (BBOBH) on various threads on KIC. However, as far as I have seen, most of the times it has been mentioned, Phantom Theater (PT) has also been mentioned. With both of these attractions being mentioned simultaneously, most people seem to rant about how much better PT was than BBOBH. To be honest, I was scared to death of PT. I always closed my eyes whenever I rode it. Would I always keep me eyes closed if it would have always been BBOBH instead of PT? I honestly do not know. I don't find BBOBH very frightening today. However, odds are, I probably wouldn't find PT very frightening today either. Allow me to ask a few questions: 1) For those of you who believe PT was actually better, how old were you when PT was still operating, and how old are you now? Do you think age plays a factor whatsoever in your perspective? Personally, seeing as BBOBH is between Rivertown and Planet Snoopy (although most would probably say it's just in Planet Snoopy), I think BBOBH is actually better for kids than PT was. After all, BBOBH is more of a game with maybe SOME startling things along the way. It's more of a competition than it is a "let's ride this ride which never varies or changes and hope that it somehow manages to scare me or entertain me this time, even though it has never has scared me or entertained me before". With BBOBH, instead of asking to be scared, you are seeking fun. You are seeking competition. You are seeking gaming. Because you are competing against your friends, family, etc., the experience does change ever so slightly depending on the group you go with. 2) Not that our say has much of anything to do with the future of BBOBH, but does anybody actually have any possible solutions for this ride other than "Turn it back to PT", which is almost definitely not going to happen? 3) If KI fixed the theming in BBOBH that existed when it first opened, would you like it more? I recall strobes, artificial fog, and a monster projection into the fog (which was pretty awesome if I may say so myself) which each car drove into toward the end of the ride. I'm pretty sure most of those things, if not all of those things, are now dead/gone. Would you like it more if those things returned/were fixed and maintained regularly? 4) What do you think about Canada's Wonderland's new ride for 2014, Wonder Mountain's Guardian? Do you think KI has any chance of getting something similar to that to either replace BBOBH in that same building or in a different location? I know the Crypt/Tomb Raider is being used in the Fall of Cavern of Terror, but that haunted house could easily be moved to a different location. What are the odds of opening such a ride in that building? How about just building an entirely new building? 5) After seeing all the magic Universal is doing in Orlando and in Universal City/L.A., do you think it would be possible for KI to ever see anything that even comes close to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or to the soon-to-be Gringott's Vault? I know both of these projects literally cost hundreds of millions of dollars when including all of the additional attractions, shops, etc., and I know hundreds of millions of dollars are in no Cedar Fair park's budget. However, dumbing down the awesomeness just a little to simply make it more affordable, do you think KI could ever see such a thing being built? I apologize if a similar thread has already been made. I read around a bit, and wasn't able to find anything too similar. I'm excited to hear your input!
  20. First, I simply want to acknowledge that overall, I am VERY satisfied with Kings Island and the current management. In the grand scheme of things, there really aren't a ton of things I would change realistically speaking. Sure, I have my dream image. Not all dreams are achievable though, and as someone else stated, we don't live in Roller Coaster Tycoon Roller coasters in general: I'm a bit of a roller coaster junkie. I LOVE roller coasters. Better yet, I love Kings Island's coasters. When asked what my favorite ride in the park is, I honestly don't know how to respond. Beast at night is one of the greatest things on earth. Diamondback is just an amazing ride to ride with your hands up in the air as your butt pops up out of the seat ever so slightly as you soar over its many hills. The design of Flight of Fear as a whole is brilliant, and the theming in the ride's line makes every trip to Flight of Fear well worth it. Banshee also looks phenomenal, especially if they incorporate artificial fog, gravestones, etc. as shown in the animated/simulated videos and teasers. With that being said, there are ways KI could improve its already impressive list of coasters. Flight of Fear: I dislike all of the colorful lights on the actual ride. In my opinion, the ride should match the theme of the line: outer space. Add theming similar to what Disney did with the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster...only obviously make it outer-space themed....not Aerosmith themed. That's an option. Or they could just get rid of the lights entirely. Imagine riding that ride with ZERO light in it. Complete darkness. It would be AMAZING! Adventure Express: Fix all of the theming that no long works. I never rode it when most of the theming worked, but I've seen pictures from when it worked, and it looked SO MUCH better then. Backlot: Also one of my favorite rides in the park because of its stunning pyrotechnics and other once existing special effects, Backlot deserves a complete renovation and retheming. I LOVED it when it was Italian Job because of the special effects. Many of those special effects were gutted when CF took over because CF doesn't own the rights to Paramount film names, themes, etc. So, either find a way to return those special effects, or completely retheme it so that it can measure up to what it once was. Without all of the special effects, the ride is merely pointless in my opinion. Halloween Haunt: I love Halloween Haunt. As already noted, I love theming and special effects. Haunt is the one and only time KI consistently displays spectacular theming and special effects. Despite being scared to death of haunted houses, I believe KI's haunted houses are AMAZING. Every single one has something or many things where I'm like "That's awesome!" or "Ahhhhhhhh! " in fear. However, I hate the cheap slutty approach KI does with Club Blood and Hot Blooded. If it were up to me, both of these things would cease to exist. I know Haunt is advertised for people 13 and older, but is it really necessary to have such explicit attractions in this family park? Son of Beast: It would still be standing, and it would be operating. It may not be operating the way we last saw it operating in 2009. It may get a Texas Giant makeover or something along those lines. Nonetheless, it would still be operating. Congo Falls: Make it longer and add a theme to it. The Jurassic Park ride at Universal is pretty awesome. Same type of ride. Just a lot more theming at their ride. Dive Coaster: Why don't we have one of these yet? SheiKra at Busch Gardens Tampa is a FABULOUS ride. KI should invest in a dive coaster, preferably one slightly bigger, faster, and longer than SheiKra. Another steel launch coaster: We already have two, but I think we could use a third...one similar to Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens Tampa or Maverick at CP. Maverick probably stands as my favorite coaster of all time. Hybrid Roller Coaster: Speaking of Son of Beast and the Texas Giant, why does SF get merely all of the awesome hybrid coasters? CF should start working on that. I WANT A HYBRID COASTER. Entertainment: Despite how much people rip on the shows at Kings Island because of a said lack of talent, I actually love what the current management has done with the shows at KI. Just a few years ago, we had hardly any shows. Now, KI has MANY shows showing on various stages every single hour. Though I believe KI should build a new stage that incorporates a show featuring pyrotechnics, live instrumentals, and live vocals...essentially a homemade, action-packed musical...overall, I LOVE what the current management has been doing with the shows. They're definitely headed in the right direction in this department. Food: I like the park's food selection. Sure, it's expensive. MAYBE they could cut the prices SOME? But let's compare their prices to those of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure most of KI's prices are lower than most of theirs. So, look at it this way: our prices could be MUCH worse. Though I never visited the new Reds Hall of Fame Grille this season, I fully support more sit-down restaurants. With that being said, I'm sad to see that they got rid of the buffet. Yes, that building was desperately in need of renovation, but I'm sad they just blatantly got rid of the buffet. On a random suggestive note, KI should work on getting more local restaurants and chains in the park. Buffalo Wild Wings, anyone? Montgomery Inn? Security: I know it looks more welcoming without the metal detectors, but why get rid of them? It's not like KI has random Texans with weapons walking into the park looking to kidnap children....oh wait....that actually did happen once this year. Yeah, why not bring back security at the front gate? Designated Smoking Areas: This may be a bit unrealistic, but I just want to throw it out there. What if we got rid of the designated smoking areas? It's nice that people are ONLY allowed smoking in certain areas of the park, but what if KI built a "smoke house" or "smoke courtyard"...some building or little section of the park where you're allowed smoking....some area that is completely secluded from the rest of the park....some area that nobody would EVER have to encounter unless they themselves are smokers. It's kinda gross walking in and out of buildings such as the Fest House and being BLASTED with smoke. Don't get me wrong: I'm glad smoking is only allowed in designated areas...but still.... Alcohol: Why is alcohol served in any amusement park? Sure, it may be an easy profit. But really? Alcohol + long lines + roller coasters + heat + humidity + people with a low IQ = a recipe for disaster. Get rid of the alcohol entirely. WindSeeker: Why was this ride ever built? Dinosaurs Alive!: Did they really have to build a special area of the park just to go see some electronically powered dinosaurs...and charge an additional fee for people to see them? Couldn't they have done something more productive and incorporated the dinosaurs into the theming of a roller coaster or something? Sure, it may not be QUITE as profitable or educational, but still.... Power-hungry Cedar Fair: As others mentioned, I wish each park would be more in charge of its decisions, marketing campaigns, etc. It's strange seeing advertisements for Kings Island with pictures of rides from other parks in the advertisements....or seeing rides from other parks on the KI website...also kind of strange. Fast Lane: I like the idea, but I think CF should go more the Fast Pass route...the route that Disney uses. I think it works a lot better from pretty much everyone's perspective. Wow, that was beefy! Thanks to anyone who actually read this whole thing! Have a good day!
