  1. Pride has been scheduled for September 9. I have heard this event is one of the best events to go to at Kings Island. Anyone is welcome to attend the event, but you must purchase tickets. Hoping I can attend this year to show love and support to my friends who are part of the GLBTQ community.

    From their website http://www.cincyglbt.com/pride-night

Don't miss it: the Midwest’s largest amusement park entertainment event September 09, 2016 benefiting a local community group – the GLBTQ Center of Greater Cincinnati. You can buy your tickets online (link available at a later date), at select ticket locations, or at the gate.

Entertainment for Pride Night to date:

    Nicole Diamond

    Tyese Rainz

    Amaya Sexton

    Alana Reign

    Alexander Cameron

    Lady Bunny

    and more!

Folks from over 30 states attend this event! The GLBTQ Center thanks the generosity of Kings Island. It is a great value and a chance to benefit Greater Cincinnati’s only GLBTQ Center serving a diverse community. The proceeds cover much of the annual operating expense of this 21-year-old community organization (founded September 17, 1993). This marks the 19th year Kings Island has hosted the event.

Tickets not only include free parking ($12 value) but have only moderately increased over the past few years. Prices for 2016 are: Individual tickets online & purchased in advance are available for 34.50 until July 10th, 38.50 after July 10th, and $42.50 at gate; or groups of 7 or more $36.50 (online only)! A portion of the ticket sales, depending on attendance is donated to the local Greater Cincinnati Gay & Lesbian Community Center each year. The Center is a non-profit organization as recognized as by the IRS 501©3.

While the event began as a private fundraiser, more and more allies are asking “do I have to be gay to attend?!?!” The simple answer – if you support equality – you're welcome! Imagine NOT having to wait in line for your favorite ride? For those who like to purchase online, and want to use “will call” or have “a personal printer” go here to purchase tickets. Kings Island waived the fee for electronic purchases on their e-store this year! (Yes, that's an additional savings of $5). Other tickets outlets are updated on the pride night webpage as available.

When you visit our Pride night page be sure to thank our sponsors! We appreciate their support! Kings Island opens the parking lot the day of the event at 5:00 pm, with the gates opening at 5:30 pm. The rides will begin operation at 6:00 pm. The event concludes at midnight. Please remember – while this is a child friendly event – it is geared toward adults. Because the event is always scheduled by Kings Island after Labor Day, the water park and children’s rides are closed.

A question the GLBTQ Center gets a lot: Can I use my season’s pass or a discount coupon from a local store? No, sorry this is a fundraiser for the Center – no season passes or special discount coupons are honored. T-shirts with this year’s pride night logo (to be announced) will be available for sale at the main entrance to the park. Most years, different area taverns and organizations have sponsored Pride Night weekend events, replacing the “after glow party” at Kings Island. Special hotel packages are available check our website for more information.

The GLBT Center assumes no liability or responsibility for the operation of the Kings Island e-store for ticketing, issues must be resolved directly with Kings Island. All sales are final once a general park admission ticket transaction has been completed. General admission tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. This includes weather-related events. We do not issue rain checks. Please check local weather conditions prior to planning your visit.

  2. Remember the park teased with the two things are leaving last summer with pics of Racer. Those hints delivered nothing to do with Racer. Maybe you need to look deeper at the hint, or possible distraction.

When I think picnic, I think picnic basket. Picnic basket makes me think of Yogi Bear. Maybe we could have another throwback themed attraction.

  3. In St Louis there is Laclede's Landing Wax Museum. It's not too far from the Arch. You can take a tour up and down the river on a paddle wheel boat. The St Louis Zoo is really nice.

If you are into museums, in Indianapolis - the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Children's Museum, Eiteljorg Museum (Native American history) the Circle, (all in downtown Indy) the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has a cool museum. Eagle Creek Park (not terribly far from IMS) is a great visit. I am not a huge fan of the zoo in Indy. It's just mediocre imo. I grew up in Indy, can probably come up with more.

  4. While I appreciate you giving information, my point was not why, but on my trip last year to Carowinds, people felt Thunder Road would not be torn down due to it "being a classic". That was in the spring. Last year it actually ran smoother than the previous year. In fact, I actually preferred it over Rebel Yell and it ran as well as Racer. The trains even had brand new comfy cushions.

Not saying anything about Racer being removed, just stating a "classic" doesn't mean it will be kept or not.

Vortex with the restraints similar to the ones Maverick has would probably increase ridership. I strongly hate the restraints, always have since the year it opened. While the lines are not as long as they used to be, people still ride it, some people love it.

  5. There would be a change in the flow. People will load and unload at the same pace they do presently.

Having the trains speed up (or not slow down due to the brakes being changed or eliminated) will get you back to the station faster.

Most of the time with how it operates today, train #1 has to wait for train #3 to dispatch because people do not necessarily hurry into their seats, get buckled in etc. for many reasons (some legit, people with disabilities, some just don't care about someone else's best day ever). Therefore, you'd have stacking a good portion of the day, everyday.

  6. This has been one of the best threads on this forum. I have been going to KI since 1974 and it's funny how much you forget. There's awesome things about the old, equally awesome things currently. Thanks for the effort, it's been a great read.

  7. This afternoon was a study in soak certainty! Several geyser "enthusiasts" teamed up to form one of the most entertaining "Squirtillary Battalions" in recent memory! A larger-than-usual group of supervisors, and a technician, were on hand to observe. We put on quite a show--er (see what I did there?) Tally: 24 boats (only go for the full ones, with "dry" screamers), 3 phones and 1 pair of shoes... arrrgh, to the bottom o' Davy Jones' locker, mateys!

Only one rider came to express her sore displeasure for being splashed... on a water... ride... anyway, fun was had by all; everyone was laughing. Best times at KI ever.

Today I took a couple of dollars and soaked a few people including a young girl screaming don't splash me. I apologed and said I had selective hearing and only heard splash me. Mom thought it was funny. It was actually far more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

  8. When I mean "multiple accounts", I mean like "time and time again"

Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk

Oh. Well, I meant it that they have had multiple accounts in the past. They now have two, maybe three now. It's like Syble all up in here.

In all seriousness, trying to decode 2017 is fun. Trolls will be trolls. Don't feed them. Trip trap trip trap.

  9. My song has still not been found.

Thanks everyone for continuing the search. But I believe it might be time to accept defeat.

It's possible my description of it is completely off, as I find it difficult to describe music, or this song actually doesn't exist and it's a figment of my imagination. Either way, I have to retire. You all can keep the search ongoing as you please, and I will listen to each and every song you post on here, but at this point I am nearly positive this song is impossible to find. Adieu.

What about "Ex's and Oh's" by Ellie King?

  11. Best ever grilled cheese sandwich, garlic bread stuffed with bacon at 1776 Grill. Oh so good.

Cheekymeatpies. Delicious. Very flaky crust stuffed with a chicken potato marsala sauce is so good.

SugarSnaps chocolate chip cookie is buttery goodness.

    Loving the food trucks.
