  1. I love the Heidelburg Cafe. When I was a child, they had little chocolate sandwich cookies that were in the shape of gingerbread men. Their pastries and cakes are delicious. If they could put the equivalent of that cafe in at KI it would be a great addition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. While I understand her burns were severe, and have always felt bad for her, I would presume it was not her first cup of coffee and knew it should be hot. I remember them putting the wording on cups "caution contents may be hot" and thinking, duh. It's coffee, supposed to be hot. Also, had it been served cold, would she have complained about it being cold? 700 complaints may seem a lot had it been at one store, but 700 complaints is minimal when you factor in the amount of locations and the amount of customers they had in the time frame the complaints came in. I think they had over 10000 locations at the time. I still think common sense ought to prevail and you should pay attention to your surroundings. If I order something hot, I might get burned. If I go to a ball game, I might get hit with a flying object. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I will try that one next season. I remember when Vortex was first built and it seemed so much smoother at that time. Perhaps it was not super smooth and I am just getting old(er). I know my daughter loves Vortex and it would be awesome to find a more ideal seat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. You can sue anyone for anything pretty much. The lady who sued for hot coffee at McDonalds for example. (There is another lady suing for that if I am not mistaken). It seems absurd to sue for this. I understand he had injuries, but why is it ok to not pay attention to your surroundings? We live in a society we blame everyone for everything and can't take responsibility for ourselves. At a baseball game you have to pay attention. A lot of the down time they throw things into the stands. We went to an Indianapolis Indians game this summer and they were tossing something that was in a bottle. (Not from the ground level, but still throwing into sections from aisles.) every one turned around and started paying attention when they found out they were doing a toss. If they aren't throwing things in the stands during a down time, there are often times pitchers practicing, activity on the field, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I love front seat on Diamondback. I don't care the side, it's the best seat in the park. Vortex, last car any seat. It's a little less painful on some of the turns. It's the only ride that gives me a headache. Beast and Racers - any middle row seat. AE back car. Invertigo any but the ends. This one makes me dizzy if I sit on the ends (but don't get me wrong, I will ride on the ends if being seated there,) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I am presuming with how the track should run (at least in my mind) that eventually, the camera will not be focused on where they are working. Is it safe to presume, they will change the angle of the camera as construction continues?
  7. People are stupid. They fail to understand that rules apply to them and the rules are there to protect you and those you are with (when you are obviously too stupid to think why you are putting your child in harms way). Honestly, people get on my nerves, they are inconsiderate and selfish. Naturally, if something happens, it is the parks fault.
  8. People are silly. It is announced frequently all over the place "lowest prices for 2014" or some form of that. I also think people think (or not so much) that Kings Island is not in this for profit and should keep prices incredibly low all the time. They offer discounted tickets in a variety of places, they offer discounted season passes before the season ends and even extend it after the season ends for those who forget. They open up opportunity by years end to do a buy now, pay later option. I really find it amazing that people would be surprised that prices go up. Then again, people complain about everything. Need a rain check policy (check the forecast before you go), stupid Fast Lane passes, souvenir cups only good that were sold this year, blah blah blah. I've never bought a Fast Lane pass myself, but man, that is a great idea for a straight up profit for a company when people are more than willing to pay for it.
  9. I really like both, but think I like the Banshee logo the best. I have always thought it was a great logo since the first time I saw it. I like the new Bat logo. The one on the summer didn't pop like this one. The original one is cool, but it just doesn't pop. I know others have posted about having the original Bat themed items hanging or on display would be great. Perhaps using the old logo within that would work? It might confuse some more than they will be confused already. My favorite was always the one just outside Coney Mall/Maul, near The Racers. The $10 shop used to be a fudge shop and that always made us laugh to have the restrooms there and "around the corner fudge is made". Seriously though, the ones by Banshee are always less crowded (until next season) and by far cleanest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The off Season...is such a sad season. Counting down the days to 2014!!!

  11. Kind of hard to confuse the two isn't it, with them being 400 miles apart and all? My last ride of KI's season was the KIC train on The Beast, sitting right next to LoraX. But my last ride of the year is to be determined next weekend at Dollywood, and will more than likely be on my #1 woodie, Thunderhead, as it has been for the past few years. I love Dollywood. I would love to go there during the holidays. It would be a great place to do a meet up. (not that I can afford it at this time, but it would be a blast!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I really don't think the price is bad. This is the first year we've done the payment plan. The past few years I did the order by the end of year and pay in April deal. Now, what I did notice, we had purchased one extra pass for a girl that lived with us at the time and it was I think $109, but we were able to renew I think at the $85.50 price. (It's been a crazy year and my dollar amounts maybe off a little, I do know the cost to renew was the same or just a little more than what I paid this year, maybe $89?) We went 15 times this year, cost per visit is under $6 per visit. With a new coaster going in I am super happy the cost did not go up. Renewing your pass also keeps you from having to wait in the worst line in the park on opening day....the season pass line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. i was thinking the same thing Kat. It is amazing how many 'deaths' never occurred. Like I heard 15 were killed on Son of Beast. I just noticed the detail of the ride in the background - how cool.
  14. This song is the Midwest equivalent to "It's a Small World After All." It takes me to a happy place.
  15. The video was more trippy than the ride. The colors and lighting weren't quite as funky looking (I am on my phone so might not be so bad on a monitor.) However, that music is bad. Gotta love the 70's. They could have incorporated theme songs to the cartoons and it would have been better. With that being said, I was 5-7 when I rode this so it could be more trippy in person. In a child's mind it was cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Until the Scream Like a Banshee contest I had no idea about media day. Until Sunday, I did not realize there were other groups beyond ACE. I can't afford ACE. I really appreciate the input from the ones who have enlightened me to other clubs and the benefits of becoming a club member. I really had no idea there was more than having a card, getting a tshirt and meeting up with people to ride coasters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Amazing how things come back to you when you watch things like this. I remember my aunt taking me to KI and I was pretty young. We rode Enchanted Voyage several times. I used to love Banana Splits. I wish I could find a pic or something from back then. I remember meeting Fleegel and thinking that was amazing. He was the closest thing to someone famous I had ever met. My aunt took me back just to see the Smurfs. She still loves the Smurfs. It was miserably hot that day and it was super cold in there. I wish I could remember when I had my first trip to Kings Island. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. ^thank you for the info. I forgot to go to the google doc at work for the December get together. Let me see if my phone will let me access it tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. With media day events, is there a charge beyond a club membership and a season pass? We will be joining a club soon - GOCC probably. Just wanting to put back additional money if we need to. Yes, I know it's six months away, but we don't want to miss a thing. I read in a couple threads that there should be a winter tour possible. Will that be something planned a few days in advance or last minute? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I honestly do not ever recall all of them working at any one time. I know that it seems like more worked this year than last year, but lights were out in the eyes on many and the lights that are shining on them.
  21. Poor Kat is being reminded she is not patient. I know!!! lol He's having fun with it, too, I know he is. I can't say I blame him for telling me to be patient constantly, seeing as how he has to wait A LOT longer to ride Banshee than I or most of the rest of us do I wonder if there is some kind of emergency loop hole we can come up with so he can return in April. If riding the Banshee is not an emergency, nothing is.
  22. Poor Kat is being reminded she is not patient.
  23. I went over to take a look at it and thought the same thing. Soak City is named correctly today.
  24. I am so happy I am not the only one stoked by Banshee. We have been excited since we heard there was going to be a new coaster for next year. We even drove to KI for the announcement - what a great night. I think it is going to be better than I imagine it will be.
  25. Thank you for clarifying. Thought someone was confused. I guess someone was confused. - me! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
