  1. You need to provide credit and a direct link to the original picture in your post.
  2. Kings Island's body slides (where this rule is enforced) have been there since the waterpark first opened. The hardness and durability of fiberglass have improved over the years, so strict enforcement might be more important for older slides. Older slides lol! Soak City is a bunch of old slides... (This is not meant as an insult so SC but rather as a slight hint to CF to add a new slide complex soon)
  3. I wonder if the two new rides will be slides or other water attractions. If they are indeed adding two slides, will they construct a new slide tower or add on to an existing structure?
  4. I dont think the ebach new slides are rumors anymore, They said on there FB Page that They Would Be Annoucing somthing soon. Ive heard it will be 2 new slides This year. With the Removal of the old Sled Slides (From The Beach On Ice) I could see a Slide going there, And one near/where the old petting zoo was. Has it been mentioned whether the slides will be for adults or tailored to children? It seems like an awfully large expenditure for a park one year out of bankruptcy to have 2 new adult slides. I could see it being two child slides or 1 adult slide.
  5. Yea a water coaster would be nice but the price tag attached to it will be the determining factor since Banshee was just built right next door. Also, as of right now, I don't believe that CF has a water coaster in any of their outdoor waterparks. It will probably be 3-4 years before a water coaster is built; however, the reopening and expansion of KK along with the rumors of The Beach opening a new slide could put some pressure (how much I don't know but some none-the-less) on KI to invest in SC earlier than they previously would've.
  6. Icee what you did there
  7. The Banshee is part of Celtic folklore so...
  8. It is possible that Banshee's station is smaller than other stations which could make it more difficult or dangerous to exit in an emergency.
  9. I think they offer gluten free food but it might be more expensive than regular food. Also, I don't think they want to get involved in saying yea or nay to anything that relates to a medical condition. Edit: unless that medical condition is a potential safety risk for other guests
  10. I believe the park prohibits outside food and drinks unless it is baby formula or if you are on a restricted diet (eg. gluten free foods only).
  11. I believe, if i'm not mistaken, that it is an Aqua Launch chamber (not sure if this is the actual name or if it is trademarked) where the rider stands in a vertical chamber and the ride operator releases a trapdoor that drops the rider straight down into the slide flume. It would be nice to have for SC but the capacity is probably low and it is probably very restrictive when it comes to the type of guest that can ride it.
  12. It would be nice to see a new slide complex. Maybe a pair of speed slides or some enclosed tube slides life Eerie Falls at CP Soak City (A water coaster would be nice but considering the large amount of capital dropped on Banshee this year I highly doubt CF would want to spend several million on a water coaster). The last new slides added to SC were Mondo Monsoon and Rendezvous Run back in 2004 so even though they revamped it in 2012 it could still use a new attraction.
  13. To expand on what shark6495 said there, you (sccard01) need to understand that wanting KK to succeed and believing that they will succeed are two completely different things. I want KK to succeed. Most of us probably do. But just because we want the park to succeed does not mean that they will. We're being realists here. We want them to succeed, but the evidence says otherwise. Realistically, the severe undercapitalization of future years, lack of marketing, and other factors suggest, when not viewed through rose-colored glasses, that KK is likely to fail after a few years unless drastic changes occur. Being an optimist is great, but even optimism needs to be grounded in realism. Well put jcgoble3. Everyone wants KK to succeed but not at the risk of taxpayers. If private companies (with all their data and spreadsheets that we don't have access to) don't believe KK to be a viable location for a theme park then why should we? I don't really understand the comments regarding tax payers. The park was in the works to be demolished and turned into a parking lot that I, as a taxpayer, would have to pay a tremendous amount for them to make this happen. The park will generate, not only jobs for the people of Louisville, hopefully including me, while a parking lot would not, but it will also help boost the economy of businesses surrounding the park- hotels, restaurants, other area attractions, etc. Do any of you even live close enough to be taxpayers that would be affected by the park? Either way the tax payers are affected, but at least when the park opens we receive something in return. Yes it would've cost money to turn the land into a parking lot but the cost of doing so is a specific amount while funding for a theme park is anything but specific. Aside from the initial funding that Mr. Hart wants, he will inevitably come back to govt. for more money if the park falls on hard times. You have to remember that once govt. starts a project, it will continue to fund it even if the project loses popularity or becomes a money pit. For example, politicians in Cincinnati ran on the promise of stopping the streetcar project but after reaching office decided to leave it in place even though it will be a money pit because of the cost of abandoning the project.

  15. Heck they should just make an entire theme park named Glove World!!
  16. I am getting a bit tired of the Colossus, Behemoth etc. Can't they find a better name than a synonym for large??
  17. If I'm not mistaken, CP (with its already complete lineup of coasters) had a record opening day with the addition of Gatekeeper so I fail to see why KI won't be as successful since Banshee, according to Don, will create a more complete coaster lineup. Also why would CF invest so heavily in a single attraction if they weren't expecting an increase in revenue??
  18. Seems like that would be too far into the middle of the midway. I imagine that there will be a circular plaza added near the dive loop where the sign and queue line would be placed.
  19. ^ It makes sense logically but I just couldn't deal with it if they demoted Beast from it's status as a Plus attraction. Beast, IMO, is the face of KI and a ride so steeped in history that I can't bear to see it lose stature to Banshee. Even though Banshee will be amazing, Beast still holds a special place in my heart.
  20. Notice how they tease us by covering up AZ so sly-like.
  21. It would be great to have Firehawk, Beast and Banshee on Plus but would Cedar Fair move away from the two attraction bonus that it currently uses for Plus? I think DB should stay on regular since it is high capacity and the park needs to leave some amazing rides on regular.
  22. Agreed. All the Cedar Fair parks I've seen that offer Plus only include two extra attractions. What to remove then for Banshee......? It makes sense that Firehawk and Beast are on Plus. Firehawk, IMO, seems to have a low capacity since the line moves so slow and Beast is the face of KI.
  23. Was next to Coconut Cove in Soak City when I heard a guest ask the lifeguard "is this the wave pool?"
