  1. Hmmm. I may be around the Forest Fair Mall area on Monday. If so, I am SO going to check it out. If SC2 plays about the same as the original, I'd bring some game with it. I have yet to find someone who can beat me at the original, that is if I'm not usng Ivy, Hwang or Voldo.
  2. Just to answer the question before the topic is back, Chaos was just moved to another part of the park. Only one of the their two Dodgems was removed perminantly. Back on topic, if they were to put Y-bars on the SOB, hypothetically, I wonder if they could convert the current trains to use them or if they'd need completely new trains that could handle those types of restraints. Anyone know how the current SOB trains could be modified?
  3. StXBomber, you may be thinking about the Chaos ride (my personal favorite flat at CP as well). The one at Cedar Point didn't crash, it was one at another park. I can't remember which one. When I saw the news when it happened I thought it was Cedar Point too. Since it was a Chaos ride, CP closed their's for a while to make sure the same thing wouldn't happen to their's. Apparently it was just a freak problem with that particular ride at that park. When CP was confident that theirs was okay, they opened it back up. Their ride that collapsed on the off-season was a pay-ride which I believe is the same thing as PKI's slingshot ride. I wouldn't call CP's kids rides bad. It's just that PKI has the best. When compared to one another, CP doesn't stand a chance. But CP's kids rides are just as good (or bad if you prefer) as most other amusement parks.
  4. At last count, Cedar Point had 67 rides total. Count out 16 rollercoasters and a couple water rides and such and you'll see that CP isn't lacking in the flat ride department. Sure they don't have any overly themed flats, but they actually have more than PKI. I'm not trying to get a CP vs. PKI thing started, just wanted to clear up that "CP doesn't have very many flats" myth. I hate to see people misinformed. And you are missing out on a lot of fun at CP. I'd recommend you go there as much as I'd recommend anyone go to PKI.
  5. Can you copyright a lapbar? I mean, I've only seen those on Intamin coasters, so I wonder if it would even be possible for SOB to have them legally.
  6. Plus the dude has no weapons! How is he even going to get close to Nightmare with his huge sword?!?
  7. If you're refering to the type of lap bar that CP has on Millennium Force, then yeah, that would be great! Those things are extremely comfortable and give you a feeling of more freedom in the legs.
  8. I don't care about the quantity argument of CP, I'm too busy being excited to ride that monster. As long as they make something that's going to be fun, I don't care what their motivation is. I do know that they're getting more attention at their park with that attraction than PKI this year, so I don't think it's a valid argument. The bottom line is money and what attracts the money. CP is attracting the extreme thrill seeker money this year, and that's what they're delivering. They may have the quantity, but when I'm 400 feet in the air, I think I'll be satisfied and not worrying about their reasoning behind it.
  9. Hey coasterfan, that avatar face you got there is probably what I look like when I'm smashed into the SOB train!
  10. I think the pitstop part was the ONLY thing I liked about Days of Thunder. I didn't think they captured the movement very well with the seats while they were driving on the screen. I just felt like I was being thrown around in a seat, not moving super fast and dodging cars. But it was tons better than Bond, I must admit that. 7th Portal still remains my favorite unless Spongebob can take its place.
  11. I saw that picture too. I think I must have either seen the link on Coasterbuzz or PKIGuide. I can't remember now either!
  12. How would you theme a hyper coaster to "the hunted"? Put a knife fight in the queue line somewhere? Hehe. I like the idea. I'd just assume slap the name on there but do as much theming as they did for Face-Off or Drop Zone. I guess you could make the station all camouflaged or something. As long as it used the terrain well and they don't cut all the trees down around, it'd be very very sweet.
  13. Not that I think it'd really take any money to do, but I'd have Tomb Raider reprogrammed to flip the riders a few more time at the end of the ride to make the finale something worth remembering. Something that could take some dough would be to replace the SOB trains with some that have just a bit more room in the seats for the bigger guests. Plus I'd add some tunnels to SOB and get some big ol' trees imported to add a wooded feel to it.
  14. I know it! I have a gamecube and have been waiting forever! Especially now that it'll have Link as a playable character. I'd also like to get an X-box just for Spawn. Too bad those guys aren't in the arcade version. But I have no idea where to play an arcade machine of SC2. It'd be nice if PKI got one!
  15. I'd like to see a Soul Calibur 2 machine this year and, yes, pinball machines! Lots of 'em! I'm a pinball freak. My personal favorite is the Elvira machine and the Mars Attacks 2 ones. I've never played the Rollercoaster Tycoon machines, but they seem to be a perfect fit for a coaster park's arcade.
  16. I would assume that if there were enough complaints and the amount of riders on SOB dropped like FoF did, perhaps they'd think about a change. I don't know if they'd get new trains since those are soooo expensive, but perhaps they could modify them some way. I'm 6'1" tall and very uncomfortable riding SOB and would not mind a change one bit.
  17. I've heard the main theme to "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan". They used to play "Moon River" also, but I don't think I heard that one last year.
  18. Why is the Witches Wheel (a version of Skylab) at Cedar Point never a problem for them? If I remember right, PKI's was slightly larger.
  19. Yeah, I love classic flats. I mean, the Flying Eagles are hands down my favorite flat ride ever. There are some wicked old flats that would be great in the park that you don't see anywhere else anymore. But PKI is a theme park now, not a traditional amusement park, so that stuff probably doesn't fit into their "image" . It's a shame, some of that old stuff beats the new rides easily.
  20. I wish... I doubt it though. It's a pretty old ride and doesn't have the rider restraints required to go upsidedown. If it could I bet they would have tried it by now, and given its age I doubt they'd be able to do any modifications. Sucks, don't it?
  21. I don't think PKI should replace an already cool flat ride with another. I'd love to see a chaos. They're really fun. But they could just add one instead of replacing one of their few flats with it.
  22. SOB in the dark...hahahahahaha...good one. Supreme ruler...hehehehe...that's funny.
  23. What I'm wondering, is the arm going to be completely controlable like TR:TR? Or is it built like Viking Fury where it's propelled some way then the force of gravity pulls it back? If it's all controllable, why wouldn't you want it to go completely upsidedown? I think it'd be much cooler for the rider and spectator, to have the thing swing a bunch, then as the finale, make the thing do a full vertical stop upsidedown and flip over the other side. They could then control the flip on the move back down to reduce the G's at the bottom. It looks very cool how it will be now, just thought it could do more than I suppose it actually will.
