  1. well considering the last time The Beach did anything on Facebook was in August 12th, but they haven't posted an actual status since July 16th, I really doubt it.
  2. amusement parks are not museums, I'm sure Kings Island has some evaluations to do with the land the ride sits on to decide what's best, but I can see this going 50/50, I would be sad to see the station go, but not too upset, and unlike Son of Beast, the station is in prime guest view, and might look ugly for a few years before something else goes into place.
  3. Apparently it's from 1974. I'm really thinking about going to the auction tomorrow to see if I can't pick up a sign that says Coney Island on it.
  4. I don't know the specific reason but when you're investing in something that will cost millions of dollars to build, I'd assume that these comfort issues have been fixed since Skyrush (Skyrush was sort of a prototype Intamin Wing Coaster with lapbars). I haven't ridden any newer Intamin Megacoaster, so I can't say for myself.
  5. If possible, and if you have a platinum pass, start in the back of the park and ride Steel Vengeance first from the resort gate, you will save HOURS worth of time as most days Steel Vengeance is consistently a 1-2 hour wait, then ride Maverick and Millennium Force, by that point early entry should be over, after that I would definitely do a small loop to Dragster and do Rougarou, then I don't think Iron Dragon opens until 11, and I know Corkscrew doesn't open until 11, so either ride Dragster, or make your way to some of the area 1 rides (front of the park), hit up Raptor later in the day, as it has a huge wait in the morning most days. If you're willing to spend the money, definitely eat at Melt for lunch or dinner, I think my bill was $30 but it was $30 very well spent as it has the best food in the park (and not in the dining plan ). Most importantly Cedar Point isn't just roller coasters, take some time on the beach, I had a great time swimming in Lake Erie last year. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but most importantly have fun!
  6. KI is as strict as ever now with social media, and since I worked at the park in 2018 and I'm working at Cedar Point this season, I'm not going to tell very many stories, but this is a story I'll never forget: so I was on the last crew of Firehawk this past season, one time in July I think it was, I was sitting down in Firehawk's yellow train parked in station two, we were obviously down for weather and it was pouring, there was no one in our station besides us, and then lightning stuck WindSeeker and it was easily the most frightening moment of my life when lightning only a few hundred feet away strikes a steel tower from the side. If you're contemplating on working at the park, I can't stress it enough, just do it, it's such a good experience, and I can't wait for my start at Cedar Point this season.
  7. Cedar Fair announced intentions to buy the land back in 2016, good for the park and hopefully it'll remove even more barriers around what is proposed at that property.
  8. With the amount of land cleared (as of now, they could clear more for all we know, but I'm talking about now), I think it'll be a B&M dive coaster, but if it is, I want more of a Valkyria or Baron 1898 and not Valravn or Yukon Striker.
  9. From what I've heard, the rides spinning motion isn't sickening enough to where it's a throw up immediately type of roller coaster, honestly, I think a Mack Xtreme Spinner would be a great fit for KI, or a launched infinity coaster.
  10. It's been a long time since Vekoma has built a Mad House, I can't see it. (Vekoma now lists where all they are on their website: https://www.vekoma.com/mad-house)
  11. Twisted Timbers has those pouches but they really had an effect on the ride's operation. I'm hoping that this will work out but at the same time I'm just not sure.
  12. I don't think Kings Island "needs" a Giga Coaster to succeed and it's more of a "want" than anything. I think to fill the gaps in KI's ride lineup like a new modern launch coaster like Copperhead Strike or Blue Fire is far more important than getting a Giga. In Park Experience upgrades like special events and food are far more important in my opinion right now rather than a new roller coaster right now, and I think there will be more bang for the buck there from a business standpoint too.
  13. Banshee has sand in it. I remember hearing it in an interview somewhere back in 2014.
  14. Thunder Run was retracked by Amuse this past year, they've done work at Mount Olympus this off season, and they did Apocalypse's last major refurbishment at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
  15. I'm actually quite opposite with Racer vs Rebel Yell/Racer 75. I prefer Racer by a bit, it seems like The Gravity Group smoothed over any moments to get airtime, at least when I rode it last month, Racer still has some airtime, but it's a bit rougher, so there is a trade off. I think Thunder Road was the best of all of them, it gave great airtime and was very smooth a month before it closed.
  16. Looking forward to more detail! I'll hopefully be down there when the park opens.
  17. Personally I think this is a great idea, it'll act as an anchor to bring season pass holders in, while giving guests something else to do.
  18. Better make sure those have an open cabin design and not enclosed without AC... @Disney
  19. Gerstlauer has been used for some projects, but not a ton of projects, I think their last coaster they put in was Spinning Dragons at Worlds of Fun, then as for flat rides they installed a Skyroller at Canada's Wonderland in 2016.
  20. I think the idea of "paying homage" to The Beast is ridiculous and is just brought up over and over again despite being a PR disaster last time, so personally, I think it's unrealistic that we will ever have a "Beast" themed coaster again.
  21. I want what Parc Asterix is getting personally, but I'd be very satisfied with a Mack LSM or Xtreme Spinner.
  22. I'm loving all the new stuff I've seen sitting at home from people on the floor! Next year is my IAAPA year for sure, Also with the dive coaster train, I love how Liseberg put their mascot on it, It's a cheesy but fun touch, my favorite news story from the show has to be the new Intamin coasters they announced yesterday for Parc Asterix and Walibi Belgium.
  23. I think there's a good possibility that Cedar Fair is eyeing Seaworld right now and not Six Flags, the only issue with this would be how expensive this is going to be for them. I think it's more realistic than a Six Flags takeover due to their debt sheet right now, however, I can see someone else buying them and Six Flags managing the parks (Six Flags doesn't actually own most of their new parks)
