  1. I can't wait until it's not a roller coaster, just so I can watch the Kings Dominion Planet Snoopy announcement again, where nerds on Instagram called Kings Dominion "neglected" even though they got one of the best roller coasters in the world in 2010, and in Kings Dominion's defense, 2017 was a very good year, and personally what I think they needed!
  2. Oh no typical maintenance! #Gigaconfirmed!
  3. two weeks isn't really a large part of its summer opening, not that I'm defending the fact that the ride had to be redesigned.
  4. I love the new firework show! I was Greeter at Delerium on Friday and got to see a little bit of it, and the first thing I noticed was the Eiffel Tower's lights syncing with the fireworks shooting off, I had no clue it was all of Istreet! Well done!
  5. ^ I'll pretend this doesn't exist, also I think something along the lines of what KD did is way more realistic, also please bring back Paddlewheel Excursions!
  6. I think Cedar Point's next coaster has to go towards the family market, I think that something along the lines of Firechaser Express, Cobra's Curse, or Th13teen/Verbolten would do wonders for the park! Th13teen/Verbolten would be an interesting concept for the park, but that would require themeing to do it right Cobra's Curse is a great ride with tons of forces and tons of spin! Being honest, Firechaser Express is my third favorite roller coaster at Dollywood! It's not as tame as it looks, it has some great forces with the launches, and an amazing show scene that I really think could go perfectly with what Frontier Town is
  7. Yikes, they're done for... (plus they have to auction off their waterpark in Texas)
  8. Man, a skyroller would make a great addition, it would be way better if we had a big hill in the back of the park or something, looking down at the rest of the park like Liseberg has with AeroSpin
  9. LOL k All of these are brand new designs that have popped up over the last few years, not to mention they have an entire theme park (Europa Park) that is constantly voted the best theme park in the world, full of their own rides (only two rides in the entire park have not been built by them, Woodan, and Silver Star)
  10. Couldn't the same thing be said about Taron? Europa Park's attendance is 5.6 million in 2016, and Liseberg is over 3 million, and both rides get very high guest scores. The reason most people are talking so highly about Mack is because of how successful they are.
  11. Rumors? I love Intamin coasters, but cable breaking on I305 keeping the ride down for a week- true, Maverick's G-Force being too intense, thus tearing the trains apart- true, Shoot The Rapids nearly killed 12 people if it wasn't for bystanders that jumped into a restricted area to save them (not to mention how lucky Cedar Point got that Texas Giant killed someone on the same day)... I love Intamin, they are certainly the company that makes up the majority of my top 20 roller coasters, if I had to guess, Mack is going to eventually replace Intamin, they are doing almost everything better these days (by the way things look), also a Time Traveler POV is now out and I can for sure say SDC is on my radar this season.
  12. In my opinion, that concept is way too similar to Diamondback in the same park, I would make this ride a little more Fury 325 and keep the ride about the sensation of maintaining speed. Busch Gardens Williamsburg does this really well and makes each coaster completely different than one another, instead of constantly taking away from each ride every time a new coaster is built if that makes sense.
  13. Awesome to see this! I'm curious about ticket prices, I really wish they would release that ahead of time.
  14. Innovation is cool, but concepts that actually work are more bang for the buck
  15. I don't think there will be a media day this year if there's nothing new to market in the park.
  16. nothing is actually credible... those who know don't tell, and those who don't know tell, or something like that, why would they tell some enthusiast to spread around, and risk their job...
  17. then it would be the longest roller coaster in the world.. https://rcdb.com/1173.htm
  18. "Those who don't tell know, and those who tell don't know" or something like that, also why would HR tell anyone if they don't actually know? I consider enthusiasts GP, because everyone says how bad "GP" are but they don't hear themselves sometimes..
  19. Why do you say that? Knotts is already very successful, and they went towards building up park infrastructure and their brand than putting in new B&Ms, an old article a while back confirmed Knotts had a large coaster planned that would have destroyed the park and Ghost Town wouldn't have been Ghost Town like it is today. (also they are competing with Universal and Disney, so going after the family market isn't a bad idea)
  20. KI was never a destination park lol
  21. Cedar Point also added these "destination coasters" under a different management, I would consider Magnum, Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and maybe Maverick as "destination", CP hasn't really added anything of late to be considered destination, which is no means considered bad, it just means they are staying the "safe and reliable" route than risking millions of dollars for roller coasters that have terrible downtime. Kings Island will always be a regional theme park in my opinion, and I think that's a safe bet for the long-term future of the park, Cedar Point isn't advertising JUST Steel Vengeance this year, at Winter Chill Out, we were able to see an amazing commercial as part of their new branding that didn't even mention Steel Vengeance, it featured Breakers, Lake Erie, and then Cedar Point that also gave a Disney vibe, I really hope they make the commercial public because it was a very good commercial, they also specifically said that while they are known to be "the roller coaster capital of the world", they wanted to be also known as "the place like no other".
  22. bumping this topic: Joel Manby steps down from Seaworld, if anyone could turn Seaworld around, it would be him, I officially have lost hope, it'll be interesting if they hit bankruptcy... https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/27/seaworld-entertainment-ceo-joel-manby-steps-down.html
  23. Hersheypark Comet's station would be nicer though...
  24. RMC didn't build the launch, they originally were going to use a flywheel, but from what I heard, Dollywood broke the contract and decided to go with a LSM launch by a company that never built a launch before (Velocity) , so Lightning Rod isn't really the fault of RMC in my opinion, then B&M didn't build Incredible Hulk's launch either, I'm shocked Thunderbird worked so well considering that was B&Ms first launch coaster.
