  1. For those of you who do not know, here is where the name almost certainly came from. I really like the name by the way.
  2. Eh, I don't know I was kind of partial to the '70s colors. I'm glad it's back though.
  3. I think may have been a pride issue. Mondial could have very well been brought in out of spite. Another possibility is that they regretted signing with Funtime and looked for a way out. The Wind Seeker model was supposed to be more wind friendly in all. However, you've got to ask yourself, "Has Mondial lived up to their end of the contract?." A certain level of performance can be expressed or implied in contracts.
  4. If they are using the Tomb Raider building next year I'm sure Madame Fatale has been evicted. If a dark ride is added there hope it utilized the height of the space and isn't the typical dark ride but with 70 foot high ceilings.
  5. A Mangel's Whip would be awesome! Buy Bushkill Park's if they still have it and it's serviceable.
  6. Nice work but as long as this is a pipe dream can we have some old-fashioned fun houses and walk-throughs?
  7. ^^ Yes from that standpoint I understand. However, the breach seems less than egregious to me, and certainly not worth going with an unestablished model.
  8. Their last minute change from established Star Flyers to Wind Seekers because the Star Flyer manufacturer spilled the beans on their contract with Cedar Fair seems foolish and petty now, doesn't it?
  9. Yes it's Intamin, but is the relationship between CF and Intamin so toxic that they wouldn't buy a 40+ year old tried and true model? It might be. I'm asking.
  10. ^^ Before Paramount Story Tower Gardens was Tower Gardens! Yes you can plant new trees but I've always hated that concept. You can be careful now and have good mature trees, or you can plant trees and in 25 years you can have good mature trees.
  11. ^ The first one in Rivertown was the best by far. I'm wondering what they have planned. You could do a modest Oktoberfest expansion, new show area, who knows? It looks like they Kinzeled the trees so probably not a revamped garden.
  12. ^ Thank you for not towing the party line. One of the only things I don't like about this site is the amount of Kool-Aid some people go through. All criticism is not "being negative."
  13. Kings Island has done a great job in regards to ride length, whether in ride time, (probably how most gauge ride "length"), or actual track length. I would say they are well above average. When I go to other parks I often think, "That's it?"
  14. ...McRib cooked up McDonald's way! I remember who I was thinking of before, Mr. Dennis Spiegel. Whoops time to fix my word choice! Talk about a break in judgment!
  15. Son of Beast unfortunately had breaks mid-ride.Never a good thing. I would pay to be able to ride The Beast without brakes like the first ever riders did. I saw a video of an old KI rep talking about it. I forget his name.
  16. I'd like to see tunnels on the next one, underground or otherwise.
  17. Anybody notice that Greg did not mention inversions? Hmmmm... * (I know I shouldn't, but I'm already hoping they're planning a woodie.)
  18. Is there a manufacturer out there currently making adult size Whips? There really needs to be...No, there isn't unfortunately. Although amusement parks close so often that I would think they could get one I'd they really wanted one. I love what Kennywood and Knoebel's do in that regard. I don't see the chain parks ever rescue rare rides.
  19. ^^ Of course, that goes without saying. Safety should always be the top priority in any product.
  20. Most important to me are negative g's and pacing. Pacing is maintaining a sense of speed and excitement throughout the entirety of the ride. I find negative g's to be the most thrilling element of most roller coasters. Pacing is important to me because I don't like it when a ride feels like it is petering out towards the end. Capacity is important also, but I would be happy to wait for an exceptional ride. P.S. It seems the gears of a five year plan are turning.
  21. My Wish List (Any or all or these would be great!) Whip Tilt-a-Whirl Ferris Wheel Air Race Spinning Keggers Rodeo Wipeout/ Trabant Paratrooper *There are so many great, obscure flats out there.
  22. There needs to be more flats in Coney and throughout the park. Flats need not be giant to be fun. I like the Flying Coaster at Kennywood.
  23. I forgot that it was already sold separately from the land. Thanks.
