  1. I used FLP on Saturday when I went.  I did get some looks every once in a while and was able to hit 20 rides.  I could have had many many more if I wanted but thought it would be entirely disrespectful to marathon "Orion" on a day like that. I wanted to badly but decided against doing something like that on a VERY busy day.

I usually go to Kings Island during the week and never buy FLP or FL because it's never needed.  However, I almost always buy FLP if I go on a weekend. It certainly has it's pro's and con's. Overall I think it's balances out most of the time as the park isn't as busy as Saturday even 90% of it's operating season.

  2. I've been many days when it's raining or storming.  In my experience, the stormy days aren't bad as the storms usually come and go and then everything starts back up.  I've been when storms were all around but never touched KI.  I always go regardless unless it's just a complete wall of rain and you know it's not gonna be dry

  3. Park spokesperson Tony Clark released the following statement to WKYC Thursday morning:

“At approximately 9:30 p.m. last night, a train on the GateKeeper roller coaster did not complete its full circuit due to weather conditions at the time. The train came to a stop on a section of track near the main entrance. The ride’s safety systems engaged as designed and an additional train was stopped on the lift hill. Guests in both trains were escorted safely from the ride.”

here is a link to one of the articles.  it's very short and to the point.

  5. I'm extremely excited to be getting a coaster of this magnitude.  I'm just a little confused at the overall height that it will be.  even with the actual blueprint with hard numbers it still seems that the height is still up in there air.  I'll be very excited for whatever the stats are.......but it would be a little confusing if this thing is <300'.   I'm sure they have something up their sleeve that gets it to 300' whether it grading the ground or what not.........time will tell.

I'll venture a guess and say its delivering mixed concrete to KI :)

Well, that pretty much goes without saying......  but thanks anyway.  ;)

Rebar for some of the footers are on site. Just got off Adventure Express and saw them by the rectangle gravel plot by Blue Racer. I’ll post a pic here in a minute.

EDIT: Here you go. Not the best pic (digital zoom), but you can see them sitting in the grass on the left there.

DOUBLE EDIT: a concrete mixer truck just showed up.

be sure to let us know what the concrete mixer truck is doing, if you would be so kind!

Near the top of Drop Tower, one girl says “wow, it’s windy!”  The girl next to her says “when the wind lets up, it means it’s about to drop!”

    Physics!

Wow.  This had me laughing,  people really do say the craziest things sometimes.

Just had a dream that this new ride was a Vekoma giga. It launched you up 300+ feet and once you got to the top there was a really quick turn down. To a point where the trains were coming off the track. It was black and orange with a flames sprayed all along the track. Looked like a Hot Wheels toy more than anything.

You can close this thread down, because that confirms what it is.:P

sounds like we all need to step away from the topic!! LOL.  we're going crazy!

A friend of mine is at the park now... I'm trying to see if she can get us some shots of the clearing and of Firehawks plot of land... they may not be the best but it's better than nothing. I'll keep you updated

I was once told it was because the water was stagnant, stinky and promoted a bunch of bugs.... no idea if that is the truth,  But I'd love to see a water feature (fountain) put back in around the base where all the cables tie in, pump it back to the mill feature on the station to get water flowing there...

It would be really cool to see the mill feature flowing.  and definitely some kind of water feature in the middle.

I’m pretty sure Diamondback had track on site when they announced it. Actually, I think most of the station track was built

interesting I didn't realize that.  but that's not the case with every coaster correct?

I was unaware previous to Banshee being announced there were full false rumors going on like that.  Well, only way to get the truth is to stick to hard facts then like we have been doing instead of any hearsay.

Keep watching construction progress and check in at b&m to see the track. I cant wait til the track first gets moved to ki. Things will start to get interesting then.

The announcement will more than likely have been made by the time we actually see any track.  I think it'll be fairly interesting to see the layouts of footers once those are started.

  14. I have to admit,  I was really hoping for a coaster that topped off around 350'.  But, I won't be so disappointed if it is just barely 300'. It will still be a giga nonetheless and I'm sure a very fun ride to experience!  Like many others on here, I think it would be a huge disservice not only to the KI regulars but to Kings Island itself to build a second hyper coaster that is only 15-25 feet from being named a giga.  I feel like that is likely not going to happen......but certainly a thought in the back of our minds here on KIC!

lol, might want to read the other 40 pages since then.

or just go to r/rollercoasters on reddit for the cliff's notes and artwork.
