  1. It really is unfortunate, because now the people that aren't on a meal plan have to pay the same prices (or more) than last year and get less amounts of food! However I understand that when season pass meal plans saturate the park, it's inevitable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Manta was my first B&M flyer, but I think at the moment it's close to my favorite coaster period. I just often can't stand the roughness of Firehawk now that I've ridden Manta. I especially love the first element (pretzel loop?...not sure) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I think before the ride opened, a lot of us on here talked about "automatically lowering lapbars," which I think was often mistaken as just this: top heavy lapbars falling into a rider's lap. The thing is, they're awfully inconsistent. Some lapbars on the train do fall, but some don't. Seems tediously annoying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I didn't realize this until a while ago, but I'm insanely intrigued by what RMC did with Twisted Colossus. I absolutely love the moebius loop coaster layout, the way the ride has a long duration due to it having to go though both lift hills before it returns to the station. The intertwined layout and high-five effects is super awesome. I would LOVE to see that kind of renovation come to Racer. I don't think removing Racer is the way to go by any means; I believe Racer completes Coney Mall's look. But an RMC moebius loop renovation would be amazing.
  5. It's the same soundtrack that is at Kings Dominion, which can be found here: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. For the most part I like it, but it has a bunch of areas that you can tell it was designed for mobile devices in mind. The wasted-space look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I was in the dining section of the site. There's an option to pull up a "map view" or "list" view of the restaurants, but on the map view it doesn't seem to be interactive. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/play/drinks-dining/dining-locations
  8. Oh I hope this doesn't fail like Banshee's on-ride video failed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I wouldn't have a problem with them removing it. But the land and the environment around the Eiffel Tower HAS to be reserved and Kings Island really needs to be careful with that land. It's always so majestic around the Eiffel Tower and them putting a high-rise kind of ride in Backlot's land doesn't appeal to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would do a lot just to have KD's International Street Music come to Kings Island Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If it's as smooth as some say GCI's are, then I believe it. The fine line between "High Thrill" and "Aggressive Thrill" was always an interesting one to me. But I imagine since Mystic doesn't have too crazy of a height or have too jerky turns it merits a 4 instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Some of the listed FunPix photo locations are just to show where the frames QR codes are. The one marker that's on the tip of Invertigo is actually outside of the park gate by the Dinosaur. Here's an example of one on International Street: https://21325-presscdn-pagely.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FunPix-Photo-Spot.jpg
  13. I can't wait until this is the news for KI's Invertigo...
  14. I would call Days of Thunder seriously outdated, but then again Captain EO at Epcot lasted forever and it still got some iota of crowds in its theater.
  15. I'm really not sure I can see that happening. This new restaurant to me just seems like another quick-service. Even if it does end up being the best quick-service in the park, I cannot see the vast majority of the general public trekking over to Soak City just for some Smoked meat.
  16. This is super important. Going into my third season now, and as an enthusiest, it's super hard to come off of an open shift and not want to go right back into the park to hit up Diamondback and Beast before I leave. During my first year, I went back in all the time. But with the hours you can rack up at KI, your body will thank you when you take a break or two. Or even your boss's boss, if you don't think the situation was handled to the rightful resolution. Don't ever leave a guest hanging with an unresolved problem, always see them through to the end of their problem or resolution (or until you can pass it off to another, more-qualified associate for the issue) This has been said before, but I think it's important to reiterate. You cannot release company information that is not publicly available to everyone. Yes, we're all enthusiasts, but before you post something about your job here on KICentral, please think again and make sure it's appropriate to post.
  17. I would LOVE to see that. Vines interwoven in the wood shed and below would give the station such a cool look, and would theme with the woods and Rivertown.
  18. I do agree that Firehawk (2007, Cedar Fair's first full year) and the creation of X Base was a fantastic way to keep with the themed areas. But I do not believe Cedar Fair particularly cares too too much about the themed areas. Diamondback, a HUGE coaster, essentially took over Rivertown and got rid of the remaining ambiance of an old abandoned Ohio town by the river. Swan Lake had tons of trees before Diamondback, and some of you will remember that there was LOTS of more trees on the walk back to The Beast. Need I mention the Coney Mall sign removal for....more Coke products?? Sure, Paramount felt they could shove their movie-themed rides anywhere they wanted without regards to the theme of area, but it doesn't seem like Cedar Fair can theme much beyond some random creature (sometimes real {Diamondback, The Bat}, sometimes mythical {Valravn, Banshee}) and few rare props in a queue line. 19. Disney's Hollywood Adventure?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Do you think this ride merits its own Gift Shop / Merchandise shop like Banshee and Diamondback? Or will this ride assimilate into KI's collection of coasters as a mid-range, moderate ride, not worth the money to staff such a gift shop/photo booth?
  21. http://www.coaster101.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/MT1-600x399.jpg Does anyone know what the building on the right is? Is that a part of the queue line or is this going to be lockers? Here's the blueprints from twitter from a while ago. You can see a couple buildings next to the station. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C1VGsGPUAAEm4DK.jpg (Mod edit: removed the embedded Twitter image, as the copyright status is unclear. It's available by clicking the above link.)
  22. To be honest, I don't even like the name of the park. Paramount's Great America was bad, but California's Great America seems to be even more of a mouthful.
  23. Well according to blueprints of the station / queue area that was posted a while ago, the queue will go right under the shed and you should be able to see that part Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I hope they have vines growing around the sides of the shed as depicted in that simulation. because #theming
  25. Speaking of Souvenir cups, I heard this year they're doing away with the all-season drink cup and are only offering the $1 refill one again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
