I did get The Beast Hot Chocolate on my first visit and I might do it again this year if the mug looks different. I was wanting to go for New Years Eve last year but the weatherman kept calling for a washout so I didn't go. I went the week before instead. I think my second and last visit was Dec 23.

We thought it was going to be a really cold, nasty night but it ended up being beautiful, not cold at all. I just love that it's open and there's no other place I would rather be.

Theres nothing like riding Mystic Timbers when its 32 out and you have to wear that coat, a hoodie, hat and gloves. I love riding it in the cold and wish I could ride others too. I love walking around and seeing the lights, seeing people ice skate, seeing the snowflakes being blown. Walking around with a Starbucks hot chocolate in my hand. Watching some of the shows as I walk from area to area. Eating my favorite chocolate covered pretzels and Buckeyes from the candy shop. I have no kids and I go alone. I ride the train at least once every time. I plan on going at least twice this year even though I am almost 2 hours away. If hours were longer or if I could find something to pass the time during the day I would consider staying overnight and going both Friday and Saturday.

You should really try to make one of your trips New Year's Eve. It was so amazing spending NYE at KI, just beautiful and their countdown on the tower was so cool. We attended the adults only party upstairs but this year plan on just staying in the park.

If you're a hot chocolate lover you really need to try The Beast hot chocolate at Sweet Spot, it is the bomb. I try to stay away from sweets being I'm diabetic, but this drink I cannot resist. It also comes in a glass mug with The Beast on it. I REALLY hope they have it again this year.

I've had that thought when I get up to the top of the first spike right before the death click when it releases after waiting for over 5 minutes to ride Invertigo for the umpteenth time

I think I know what your talking about, dont know the name of the element but I'd love to see something like that

Is that the trick track element? That's my favorite part of Steel Vengeance, can't remember if it's on Storm Chaser but it is on Twisted Timbers, loved it.

I didn't think so. I just don't want to risk driving that far to not be able to see and also miss the live stream haha.

Thank you. Unless I hear otherwise I will live stream it at home!

I've seen it said multiple times on Facebook that you can get in after 8p, you shouldn't have a problem.

It's 296 feet with a 301 foot drop. Expect anything else and you will be disappointed on Thursday evening. That's just the cold, hard truth of it.

During the change.org petition, this forum had reached the bargaining stage of grief. We've now gone back to denial.

I don't understand how anyone knows exactly what this is going to be until the powers that be actually release the information on Thursday. It very well could be 296 feet but there may be something we are missing as well. Unless you work for the park and are in the know, no one knows for sure. And why be disappointed? We are getting another coaster, I will be happy with whatever we get and will not form an opinion until after I've ridden it.

Yeah i know there is going to be ONE jerk coaster enthusiast in the crowd that boo's the stats.

Key word being joke, I'm sorry I think it's ridiculous that opinions have been formed before we really have all the true statistics. Booing at the reveal will make all coaster fans look bad and deter the park from inviting GP in the future. I know we don't know yet if GP is invited, but o really pray if we are that people can behave.

I have noticed that if you ride on an even number row on FoF at Kings Island it wont squish you as much. But I might be wrong.

Yes that is true, the back of the car is a bit larger but at KD all the cars are bigger, we rode in the front portion of the car

Do you guys think they will refresh/redo Flight of Fear if they continue the space/alien theme over to the new coaster?

I love the 1990s look of FoF, but was curious if they would give it a new coat of paint to bring new life into the area?

We were at Kings Dominion this past weekend, figured FOF would be identical to KI, which yes the layout is. BUT, the trains were different, my husband fit comfortably where he doesn't at KI and the ride felt different. I know it won't happen but I wish we could get those trains so I'm not squished like a sardine. We were on one of the last trains of the night and someone yelled out something, couldn't quite hear cause we were in the back, the operator said well that's about the 100th time I've heard a area 51 joke.

They crush bones lol Plus there is not enough give for them imo. They lock you in place and don't give room for airtime. idk

I much prefer these to what RMC has. I know a lot of people love RMC but after riding another yesterday I'm good on them. I love the clam shell, I get a lot of air time, maybe it just depends on the size of your body too, I'm short.

I hope so! It's crazy to think The Beast is still in that conversation for best in the park after all these years though

It's not crazy, I don't care how big, tall, a coaster is, in my eyes nothing will ever beat Beast, it is and will always be my favorite coaster.

  13. I wish I could remember. My dad took me to amusement parks all the time as a child. I remember my first big ride, it was at Hershey Park, he insisted I was going to ride the pirate ship, I was scared to death crying and saying no. Well he won, thank goodness, because I came off it laughing my head off and there started my love of rides. I think my first big coaster was Magnum, but that's a guess. I've only started tracking my rides in the last two years. Next week we are going to Kings Dominion, I'm excited as I will get my 75th coaster. I know that's not much compared to some of you but I'm happy with it. Just trying to decide which coaster I want it to be.

  14. It just figured, the day we decide to go to a different park all this happens. Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks, I'm not good with clues whatsoever but I sure want to know!!

  15. I had issues last year in Mystic, I didn't care exactly which row, I just requested towards the front because I don't care for the ride in the back, the separator insisted the last row and there was just no way. I was in the regular line because it was dead and did not use the alternate line due to no wait. I ended up walking back down the stairs and back up to the alternate entrance. I did get a supervisor because it was beyond ridiculous when they weren't busy and she was just doing it because she could. Since then I don't ever go to the regular lines, even on non busy days, I just don't want that hassle.

This is why the food pass needs to go away or be more expensive. You are having poor quality of food that is not consistent in any way. You are trying to keep up with heavy demand and the facilities just can’t handle that many guest. We were able to leave the park eat at a nearby sit down  Restraunt and get back to the park with 70 minutes. We might have boughten food at the park a few times a year before the food plan spending maybe a total of $300 year. When we used to have the food pass we ate more times at the park and paid less money. I would think it would be like this for most families. Just my 2 cents

I'm sorry I do not agree. I would not come to the park nearly as much as I do if I didn't have the dining plan. This is our only entertainment and we pay for it and not worry further along in the season. Yes food consistency is a problem but u would much rather deal with that than having to leave the park, always have money on me, not to mention I have to use handicap parking and would never get a spot back. This would be a huge issue for me not to have the plan.

  17. Darn i pick today to switch phone carriers and get a bum phone and have missed everything! Im not disappointed in the least, i love my home park. I used to say that Cedar Point was the only park because they do have cool cossters but hands down the employees and atmosphere at KI is bettwr than CP any day. I am so thankful for how wonderful KI employees are in helping me have a fantastic day even with my limitations. I have no doubt however this coaster comes out it will be awesome.

  18. Has anyone heard if they will have three performances on Fri for the opening? I know last year they only had one performance and I can't seem to find anything that actually lists it except for the generic days/times on KI's website.

  19. I think more people do this than we realize. I don't have a computer so I only am able to use Google sheets on my phone, but I've started tracking everything for meals, drinks, merchandise, money found. I'm anxious to see at the end of the year how it turns out. I don't live nearly as close to the park as some of you do but I'm already seeing I'm saving quite a bit with the dining and drink plans.

Jeez half the size? Yes Reds has some really good nice sized salads, disappointing to hear they are half the size

P.s I haven't got on Beast yet this year, hopefully this weekend I get to ride it and will go to row 17.. I hope it's not a trick?? Some backbreaker or something ;p

Absolutely not a trick, it's what I ride every time and I hate being bounced around. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.

  21. We are also anxiously waiting for it to open and will be there on the 24th. We are excited to see who's in it this year, last year was so good I hope it's as good this year.

  22. For us the dining plan is a great value since we put everything on our passes in the Fall, we never have to worry about not having money to go to the park. We live almost 2 hours away but did 47 trips last year and probably had both meals most days except for maybe a couple. We also love that we can take a trip up to CP and the same thing, we just need gas in the car. We aren't always 100% pleased with the food but for the most part it's decent. The biggest issues I see this season is we used to eat at reds all the time, getting salads when it was hot. Yes Brewhouse has entree salads but they are about half the size of last year's, kind of disappointing.

While I stick by conspiracy maybe a more accurate statement is that people here act more entitled/important to Kings Island big wigs than they actually are.

You nailed it, but this site is much more friendly than another that acts like everything is a dictatorship, I'm glad we are allowed to have opinions here and the admin are great in my opinion
