  1. I have a handicap placard and I try to not judge people as a lot of the time if you were to look at me you wouldn't know I have an issue, but I've been really paying close attention lately and I swear there's an awful lot of people that it's very obvious they are not handicap. Today when we left the entire lot was full, on several occasions my husband has had to drop me off as there were no spaces available. I truly try to keep an open mind but it's just so blatantly obvious sometimes that it's frustrating. I do know Memorial Day when we left the park there were a bunch of cars with no permit or made their own space that definitely had tickets on their windshield.
  2. One thing I will say, Friday evening we were getting off Diamondback and someone had their phone stolen out of the bin, just confirmed to me that I don't carry anything with me in the park because there's no way I'm going to take a chance of something getting stolen.
  3. I absolutely love KI and it's employees, some of the best I've ever encountered, however we have had some issues at MT as well. The worst was last Wed, we had looked at the regular line and it looked to be about a 20 min wait, so my husband took my green sheet to the exit, he waited forever and the guy on that side just kept ignoring him, he finally gave a ride time and it was an hour wait, I couldn't believe it. I immediately went to the entrance and asked how long the wait was, her response, 15-20 min, that's a heck of a lot different than an hour. Needless to say we didn't ride and just left. This has happened numerous times now and I don't get it. I have no problem waiting the same amount of time as everyone else but it's not right to be made to wait A LOT longer because I have a physical disability.
  4. We saw the train sitting at the brake run and I said to my husband now why can't that happen to us, he shook his head and said why would you want to get stuck like that? Lol
  5. Coney had some different items today, I got the Texas chopped brisket, have to say it was not very good, extremely dry and just blech. My husband had tri tip and his portion was double the size of mine. It drives me nuts the inconsistency at this place. I did love the cucumber salad again!
  6. Had coney for lunch, the cucumber, tomato and onion salad was sooo good, wish they would have given a bit more portion size but it was yummy.
  7. You guys have me beat by miles! I was thrilled when I did 25,000 at Cedar Point in May. I have to do a lot less, average about 10,000, but my injury from an auto accident is the reason why. I have an off brand fitness tracker but it definitely doesn't see the miles that a normal person does.
  8. It cannot be just one teenage kid that didn't know what they were talking about because from Labor Day til closing day if Winterfest my husband had 5 drink plans and I had 2. I had numerous cashier's even show us the screen that showed what they were looking at. It can happen, as to why that answer I would like to know.
  9. I know it's still a week away but it looks like so far it's going to be hot and humid which may deter crowds. Memorial day was a breeze on rides but that heat was brutal. We just decided that we are going to overnight it on the fourth, so if it's either busy or unbearably hot we can take a break and come back later in the day.
  10. That drives me absolutely batty that it is closed so much. My favorite part of the park is Rivertown and I always seem to be there when I need a drink k so I have to settle on diet Coke by Diamondback. I have noticed a couple times that jukebox wasn't too busy like earlier in the season where the line was out the Midway. As for Firehawk, I thought it was me being a wimp. I have a friend that is at six flags over Georgia right now and she rode Superman last night, she said it's not nearly as bad as Firehawk, I would be curious to try. My days if riding Firehawk are over!
  11. That chant is one of the things that prompted me to start this thread, I was appalled at the behavior if adults who should be setting examples for kids.
  12. Last Fall my husband ended up w 5 drink plans on his pass and I had 3. We definitely didn't pay for 8 but just appeared As for the dining I was always under the impression that the person on the pass had to order the food. I can see where that could be a hassle for families.
  13. That's exactly what we were thinking of doing, not be there when they open but come a little later, which is usually what we do anyway. We have 4 furbabies at home so we have to time it right so that we are not going 15 hours or something.
  14. We've never done the fourth but are really hoping to this year. I guess if its crazy busy then that would be the day to do shows. We have only stayed once while the regular fireworks were going because of the 2 hour drive home but it sounds like it's going to be pretty nice.
  15. Mine is probably very small compared to others, but here goes: Kings Island Cedar Point Great America Chicago (before six flags bought it) Hershey Coney island Cincinnati Coney island NYC Disneyland Universal Studios Hollywood Disney world Epcot MGM Studios Animal Kingdom Universal studios Florida Islands of adventure Busch Gardens Tampa Geauga Lake Sea World Ohio (before 6 flags)
  16. I refuse to eat at coney any longer, since every time I'm disappointed in the food. My husband still does and every time he has issues. I go across to subway and meet at the tables. It's sad as coney was really good opening weekend. It seems like quality and consistency just keep getting worse each week.
  17. Well I think I may be one of the people you are talking about, I'm 48, have gray hair but you can't tell because I color it. Some of my friends my age just don't even care to ride anymore, me I want to go often. We have 15 visits in this year at KI and 3 at CP. If we lived near KI we would be there daily. I only like to marathon certain rides...MT, DB and beast. Only one I can't do back to back anymore is Banshee. I pray that I will be able to ride coasters for a long time to come.
  18. It's basically what the ride pass is for handicap people, that would be a great way to do it.
  19. We loved the 3 legged black and white dog in the show. My husband was picked to go onstage so he was thrilled. We petted the dogs after and they were sweet.
  20. The one think I forgot to mention....none of these that happened were the parents yelling, it was other people. On Diamondback I said something loudly to my husband as the guy in front of us was one of them, boy did i get a dirty look. I'm not saying all situations are the same but I just was appauled at the behavior of some "adults".
  21. Sorry I just don't agree with that, they work really hard, I know I could never do that job on my feet for 10 hours or more.
  22. I see your point completely, none of the 3 had a wrist band that I could see or pulled out a driver license so I'm assuming there was none, but no matter what I think it's just wrong to yell at the staff like what I saw.
  23. Yes the day after Memorial day KI employees started
  24. Has anyone else experienced this? Yesterday on 3 separate rides people were yelling at rides ops because they were pulling kids off to measure their height. Now I don't have kids but I was so upset at these people yelling, there's a reason they do this and it's called safety. These people would be the first to file a law suit if something happened to one of their kids. I just don't get it and think it's wrong, these ride ops work hard and don't deserve it.
