I'm sorry I do not agree. I would not come to the park nearly as much as I do if I didn't have the dining plan. This is our only entertainment and we pay for it and not worry further along in the season. Yes food consistency is a problem but u would much rather deal with that than having to leave the park, always have money on me, not to mention I have to use handicap parking and would never get a spot back. This would be a huge issue for me not to have the plan.

I had issues last year in Mystic, I didn't care exactly which row, I just requested towards the front because I don't care for the ride in the back, the separator insisted the last row and there was just no way. I was in the regular line because it was dead and did not use the alternate line due to no wait. I ended up walking back down the stairs and back up to the alternate entrance. I did get a supervisor because it was beyond ridiculous when they weren't busy and she was just doing it because she could. Since then I don't ever go to the regular lines, even on non busy days, I just don't want that hassle.

My pet peeve is being paired with someone who lacks good hygiene.
At least with the B&Ms you can still have space if it's only 2-3 assigned to the row, or in DBs case- getting an even row.

That’s been my point all along. This “give them time” and “it’s not fair to judge it till it's complete” line doesn’t hold show fountain water. If they want to call April/May “preview days” and communicate that there are still projects being finished, and minimal show offerings, then that’s great. Let people in for a tease at a reduced rate or at least do what Disney does and call it “soft opening” but they don’t. They call it OPENING DAY. Its on. I could care less about pedestals or no pedestals. I just think the overall project could have brought even more to the table. It still might. But as of now the park is open for regular operations. This is the project as they have presented to the public and I will judge it based on what I see presented. I’m certainly one to say “hey, now that they’ve added... its way better than I thought it looked way back in April.”

I'm betting money that if a member of the staff was recorded saying that and it hit social media, they'd be looking for a job. Calling your most dedicated fans that is just stupid. At times it appears the park has people handling their social media that don't understand social media. If you are in a position to deal with the public for any sized company, let alone one as large as KI, you have to be able to let criticisms roll off your back.
After the park went on what sounds like a holy crusade to keep pictures off here because they wanted the whole thing to be a surprise, and for people to wait for opening day to see the finished product, they are asking to be judged on the product that they presented on opening day. If it wasn't going to be done opening day when everyone was going to see it anyway, it's childish to throw a fit over pics at an earlier stage of incompletion. Especially when no one really knew if the pedestals were gone. People clearly care about that. Having pics of them gone, and letting it be known they wouldn't be coming back could have diffused this issue months ago.
They also don't make any additional money if they never upkeep anything and GP stops coming. Expansions and improvements are how amusement parks keep the crowds coming to pay the bills. KI's purpose for existing is to separate as much money as they can from people. Improvements like the ones this year is one of those ways. Don't pretend they do what they do for our benefit.

Thanks for the pictures, @IndyGuy4KI!  International Street looks awesome.  I can't wait to see it in person.  And even though I'm on team pedestal, I know that the people at the park now what they are doing.  People may not like change.  For all we know, the pedestals could return.  Or they could be replicated by programming the jets.  Or they could part of the park's history, with exciting things for the future.  But with all they have done, I think it's too early to tell the final impact.  To express opinions is to be expected in a park we are passionate about.  I think the folks at the park expect that and I would hope that they know individuals do not tell the whole story of a collective.  To the folks who think the removal of the pedestals is a horrible mistake:  wait and see.  To the ones who think the park can never do a wrong, they can.  And to everybody, enjoy this season.  I think it's going to be one for the record books.  As I started saying around this time two years ago, I sense a very good change coming to KI, and I am more excited about the future of the park that I ever have been.

I have never once heard anyone in Admin at "the park" call KIC "complainers."  Actually, I know they monitor the boards for unsolicited feedback - good and bad.
What you see/read here actually has little difference from what the public says.  Cincinnati people know and love KI with a passion... and they recognize and discuss the changes (good and bad) through the years.
...and trust me, the people running the park have opinions just like anyone else - and are just as impassioned.

Sure, we can just all collectively agree that Kings Island can do no wrong. Every single thing they add is great for the park and looks good. Would you be saying this about the people who complained about BLSC replacing antique cars? Some people won’t like what the park does. If the park really doesn’t allow KIC “perks” anymore because a few users disliked its fountain display, that’s childish.

^ Sure! So I don't know if this is super well known in the enthusiast community, but KI has some alternate systems in place for people who are able to ride the rides but have some kind of disability that keeps them from physically waiting in the queue. There are two or three different kinds of sheets, and they're generally referred to by the color of sheet they are given. The sheet communicates to the ride operators what rides the guest can or can't ride and is used to track the guest's wait times. Folks who use the green sheets walk up the exit and hand the sheet to a ride op, who will check that they can ride, check what time it is, check how long the line is, and then write down when they can return to ride the ride based on what the wait time is. So if I'm at Adventure Express, it's 2:00pm, and we have a 15 minute wait, I'll write on their sheet that they can return to ride AE at 2:15.
A lot of the time (at least at the rides I worked), folks who used green sheets would stand to the side at the exit and wait for their time to ride. Sometimes, if I wasn't in the middle of something, they would strike up a conversation. Often, they would happen to be very friendly people whose conversation often ended up being a highlight of my day. Obviously that's not a rule for everyone who uses a green sheet; that was just my experience in the shortish time I worked at the park. A few memorable groups took time to ask what my name was and thank me by name and wish me a good rest of my day as they left. I thought that was really sweet.
Also, it's a common misconception among people who witness the systems being used but don't know the details of it that the people using them don't have to wait to ride. That's actually completely untrue. There ARE wait times built into it; they're just not waited out in the queue. It's a very clever little system, and I'm really glad the park has it. It gives folks who might not otherwise have the opportunity to ride the ability to make memories together on the rides, and I think that's awesome.

One of the things I noticed Saturday that's very helpful is, when they say you can't hold onto items on a ride, have that stuff in the bin already. There were a lot of hold ups due to people not putting their stuff in the bins. Also.... some people's kids need to be monitored, and not sent out on their own in the park. I know everyone likes to believe that their kid isn't horribly behaved in public, but after watching someone's child in line for Vortex that was eating mulch, and jumping over railing into "not a place to wait in line" areas, I was a little annoyed, and I can only imagine that the ride ops were too. Ride ops and other staff of the park are not there to babysit children, they have extremely important safety things to do.

I distinctly remember this exact conversation around Banshee's construction that they somehow wouldn't surpass Raptor despite Raptor being one of the smaller B&M inverts, and, IMO, Banshee is much better than Raptor.
Also, as nice as MF is in terms of ride experience, I think B&M can greatly improve upon it even if our giga in question is short on some stats comparatively speaking.

MT is my favorite ride in the park as well. Would I like to see KI have the Tallest/Fastest/Longest title? Absolutely, but I will take a greater ride experience over a title. I sure hope that is the case with this new coaster.

I feel like there are two big bottlenecks, all of which involve the registers.
    1) Pretty obviously - staffing. It almost seems pretty good today. Let’s hope when the dorms open it’s not an issue.
    2) All Day Dining - concerting that from a receipt to a wristband seemed like it was a multi-step process. It really slowed things down on days like Education Days where a lot of people have them.
All of the above can be fixed.

The 4th option is the above with Mako Purple instead of Red!

Darn i pick today to switch phone carriers and get a bum phone and have missed everything! Im not disappointed in the least, i love my home park. I used to say that Cedar Point was the only park because they do have cool cossters but hands down the employees and atmosphere at KI is bettwr than CP any day. I am so thankful for how wonderful KI employees are in helping me have a fantastic day even with my limitations. I have no doubt however this coaster comes out it will be awesome.

Wow! A lot to catch up on....
First, off, the legit blueprints: I'll admit, I was a bit disappointed to see that the actual track layout matched up with the "leak" due to the "short" track length. Then, someone mentioned the possible theming and I got really excited; also, this thing is gonna haul and I'm excited for the pure speed as that's one of the best parts about Millennium Force (the only other Giga I've ridden). And from the looks of it, it could have some pretty cool unique turn-based elements. Basically, as long as the theming and overall ride experience is done right, I think this coaster should be pretty awesome and I'll be a happy camper. That being said, I really hope we get the 4-across trains like the other B&M Gigas.
Second, speaking of B&M, the only outright garbage coaster I've ridden by them is Iron Wolf and to be fair, that was their first coaster, and they've come a looong way since then.
Third, yes I am one of those people who rides Valravn at The Point, thank you very much! I also like Steel Vengeance, Wicked Twister, Maverick and Rougarou (Millennium Force and TTD are up there as well).
Finally, another possible speculation topic... what do we think the announcement video will be like? I mean, personally I'm all hyped up for a fast, fun ride, but I suppose there could always be more hype (well, let's not forget the shed overhype lol)...
    EDIT: Remember this...
Also, this could be split into another thread, but... what was the hype like for Millennium Force around this time? Curious to know what they were thinking back in the day.

For the people complaining about the layout, it seems to me that it's more of a complaint about the length of the layout, not the layout itself.
In terms of height, I would rather the ride be 286 feet and drop 301 than be 301 and drop 286.
Having ridden Fury, I think this turn around can be really awesome, especially given how it appears to be over 90*.  The Shambrahala helix looks pretty interesting.  I also like that this ride has no MCBR.
Am I disappointed that it's not a record breaker?  Sure.  Records get broken though.
If you would have asked me 15 years ago if I ever thought Kings Island would have any rollercoasters on par with what's at Cedar Point, I would have laughed.  Maybe a lot of you were too young then, who knows.  I would urge all of you to relax your disappointment until after you saw the ride video and what all Kings Island has in store for this ride and possibly Flight of Fear.
