  1. I received an email that the passholders ERT was being moved from weekends in June to weekends in July. I knew it would be open by the time I was planning on returning but was a bit dissapointed that it wasn't open for this unexpected visit. The parts I saw from the train ride looked great in March so I'm looking forward to my next visit when I can get away and ride.
  2. The Education Days programming was mostly at the Eiffel Tower and the COSI show was on the stage inside the FestHaus.
  3. Hah! Nice catch! But not really. I should have said one of my favorite decisions made in May.
  4. Same here! It was a nerve wracking decision to go by myself but I'm very happy I did. One of the better decisions I made in May.
  5. What about Lush Life from Zara Larrson? Similar to Sia/Rhianna beats...
  6. Cats climb trees. Cats chase mice. Hrmmm.... Seems a bit wild. (electricsun who knows nothing but is hopeful)
  7. From KI Facebook page - it was in response to the time question: "Show times today are 1:30, 3:30, 5:00 and 7:00. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each show."
  8. Joncars05 - those pictures are amazing! Thank you for sharing. While the weather may not have been the best, it sounds like it was still a great trip, especially with your daughter being able to ride rides. Start them early!
  9. I was on the second to last train ride last night and they said it would be open today. I too am really excited for the foliage covered tunnels. I was wondering how they were going to protect the people on Diamondback and the path. This is a much better option than a simple fence and will provide much needed shade.
  10. I agree with a lot of what everyone else has said. I think comparing or ranking the Origins and Cirque Imagine does a disservice to both. They are different but both were and are high quality performances. There isn't a story line in Orgins. Instead, it felt as though I was peering in on them playing and being creative. The audience interaction and intro were great and I'm going to enjoy seeing how that evolves during the season. The part that others mentioned dragging is the only part that concerns me - part of act is dependent on volunteer participation. If a person isn't game, it could get a bit painful to watch. I too loved the music. It such a nice touch and added another layer to a great production. The level of detail in the make-up, costumes and set are also top notch. You will want to sit closer to the stage if you want to see those details. Finally, their playful and lighthearted manner made me giggle a few times. I'm really looking forward to seeing it again soon. Kings Island and the production company have another winner in this show!
  11. Not all districts are out yet. So, maybe a blanket stopping point in order to cover their bases regardless of where the students go to school is easier and more efficient for employee scheduling? How old do ride ops have to be this season compared to food workers?
  12. I actually would want to watch 3 of the 4. Sadly I would only be able to attend the first one.
  13. Yeah, there totally is a bacon fest - just not at KI. It's in Columbus in September. http://ohiolovesbacon.com Check Groupon for tickets as they had sold some there when I posted about it in the random food thread a bit ago.
  14. Thanks for posting the Twitter pictures! I hadn't seen them yet. I saw the close-up pictures they posted on Instagram. The make-up is so detailed. https://instagram.com/p/BFz92aXOOBm/ I'm really looking forward to seeing it on Friday! Edited to add the link to Instagram.
  15. Malem, if you track your steps on your phone I would love to know your numbers - especially with your zigzagging through the park. I'm sure you rack up the steps!
  16. It was hard for me to choose between Coasterstock and NASA. My nephew/partner in crime wasn't going to be with me this year and being at a park for a weekend surrounded by people that all seem to know each other sounded a bit daunting. Pushed through the internal nerves and glad I went. It was nice to put faces to names and the people I met and talked with were friendly. Positive things: Friday dinner even with a missing pass that was later found. Fun rides with folks from here and elsewhere. Talking science and rats with someone's grandchildren Saturday night. Daylight Donuts' apple fritter. Sun and blue skies emerging Saturday evening and staying through Sunday. ERT time. Engine house. Behind the scenes photo ops. All the coaster riding after Banshee's photo op. Looking at my FitBit, I walked 77,653 steps in the three days and 93 flights of stairs. (Going up that last flight stairs was rough, but worth it!) That is likely lower than those that did the scavenger hunt.
  17. Oh, watching people and their reactions as they finished their plunge was priceless. Pretty sure this is two of them. Edit to be clear - malem on the right and aandjgoods (I think?) on the left.
  18. I think it really depends on where you carry your weight. TTD & MF are not very forgiving depending on the size of your waist/hips/thighs. The seat belt goes right across the widest part of my hips and the last time I visited, I had to have the ride ops buckle it. Wicked Twister also isn't very forgiving. But if you can fit on Drop Tower, you should be okay with Wicked Twister. I say should because it feels like a bit tighter fit than Drop Tower. Last season there was a test seat at the entrance of the ride. You have a Platinum pass, right? If you buy his ticket at a CP hotel, he will get in during the early ride time with you. I hope you both have a blast!
  19. Flight of Fear and Beast was about 10 minutes when we road around 10:45-11:20. Crowds are lighter than last Friday.
  20. Thanks for sharing! I'm checking with a coworker to see if he wants to stay and see the show but I'll be there.
  21. Freaks76, have you called the park yet? I received the email on Monday too. Is it possible that your email was mistyped? I've done that a few times with my personal one. It happens more often than you'd think - I get folks at work calling slightly frantic that they didn't receive an email. Reason they didn't hear my response was that there was a slight typo in what they submitted.
  22. Looking through my email, last year's was sent in the late afternoon on Monday the week of the event. So maybe expect something today?
  23. They build it for you. Lettuce mix and any of the wrap toppings and two pieces of chicken. It was a nice fresh option. I got it two Fridays ago but at the time, it wasn't on the meal plan.
  24. Ahh. But still, most people would consider that a bit chilly to be in the water. I'm impressed. Do cold temperatures just not normally bother you? (I'm genuinely curious - I tend to run cold so it's hard to fathom being in the water if it's under 80. )
