  1. Drop Tower does not like tall people. If you're somehow able to fit in, it'll hurt like hell. B&M's should work fine, as well as Mystic. Racer and Beast will be iffy but if you do fit in it may be painful. In previous years, ride operators were allowed to exert a great deal of force to get restraints to lock. In 2020, operations cut down on that and now operators can only use minimal effort to fit guests in.

I wouldn't worry too much. Even if you can't fit in a ride, no one judges or cares. Most guests aren't even paying attention. Ride operators are used to it as it happens all of the time. Especially on crews that operate tighter rides. Kings Island has a lot to offer for tall guys so either way you'll have a good time!

I've got to ask, are you a returning employee or new employee?  My source is a returning employee that was making in the mid $10/hr range.  They were bumped to $12 and told the remaining $3/hour (to take it to $15) was contigent on them meeting all the asterisked criteria.

I’ve talked to those who are first years and those who have worked for multiple. It appears to be the same across the board, unless there’s a department I’m missing. I’m 99% sure they’re mistaken though, as they park made it pretty clear that everyone would be making at least $15/hour with no strings attached.

I'm hoping someone here can confirm, but I was told that they aren't even really paying the $15/hour.  That it's $12/hour with a bunch of asterisks attached to it, that if you stay the whole season THEN you get a payment for the extra $3/hour based on your hours worked.

This is some truth to this, but the minimum wage, without strings attached, in all departments is $15/hour. However, in security aquatics, and foods you can make $18/hour. Those in other departments are eligible for an additional $3/hour that is paid out in a lump sum if you stay until the season is over. This is to keep turnover low and retention rates high. One issue raised though is that hours are not what they used to be in past years, which can cancel out the increase in money being made by employees.

  4. As others have said, I don't believe Timberwolf is taking up "Valuable Space". According to public records from the auditor, KI is only using about 50% of the land they own. I also wouldn't be a fan of them putting any sort of ride in that space considering its proximity to the parking lot. (See Scream at Magic Mountain)

  5. I suspect the rise in wages has been in the works for some time, considering all of the talk about a $15 minimum wage. I don't think it was supposed to happen this early, but their hands were tied here. In some departments, the difference in supervisor's wages from new associates is disproportionate from what it was before.

Before the announcement, I would like to thank everyone for allowing us to be where we are right now. If it weren’t for the work of all of you, this thread would not have been so successful. It was a truly enjoyable experience, and I am glad I got to experience it firsthand.

I would like to thank some people individually:

@sixohdieselrage, thank you so much for those aerial photos. They really helped us get a better idea of the scale of this coaster.

@RuthlessAirtime and @DustinTheNow, thanks for those awesome concept videos you created. They really were amazing!

@collin.klopfstein, thank you for all of the track updates. You were the one to first see the blue track and tell us about it.

@Fye Coasters and @Magenta Lizard, thank you so much for those awesome construction and teaser updates. We all enjoyed seeing those.

@BSBMX and @fryoj, thanks for the blueprint decoding and answers to questions we had. Those were super helpful.

@Bansheeback, thank you for getting us those blueprints. Those were crucial to the decoding.

@Hawaiian Coasters 325 and @Maverick44, thank you for those awesome giga concepts you used to make. They were really cool, and I enjoyed them!

Thanks to all of those who I may have forgotten to mention who played a big role in the decoding of the project. Your help was also greatly appreciated!

While I certainly thank these people for all they have done, I would also like to thank each and every one of you who I didn’t mention for being here and contributing to the decoding. I really enjoyed all of it.

I appreciate the mention. It’s been fun decoding with y’all! I’ll be at the announcement tonight wearing a blue retro KI logo shirt, so if you see me don’t hesitate to say hi!

  8. She was just saying that the index states there are other plans for each section even though they only have the electrical plans filed. Also there was someone on reddit stating they received additional plans from Mason the other day.

Gotcha. Did they actually post them? I’d be curious to see them.

  9. The only thing I can say for sure is we don't have the complete print. There's a ton of sheets to the most recent one, but the actual track plans are not included in it.

  10. I don’t know why either. I honestly suspected the panorama without them was trolling, because I knew darn well they HAD been there
Especially when I was reading this thread finally on my way back and there they were. Very surprised they were different when I looked closely.

And for any odd reason someone thinks this isn’t a giga, here it shows how many seats there are on the train, credit goes to Bansheeback

  13. A side note: here are some statistics from the links to the documents!

The top referrers to the link are KI Central (Obviously) and Facebook. I'm not sure where the link is posted there.

Most of the views are coming from the US, but people from Canada and Germany have also clicked on the link!

All in all about 1000 people have viewed the blueprints thus far.

As a favor, I'd appreciate it if people shared the blueprints using the bit.ly links. This way we can see how popular the documents are and track where they've been coming from. It makes for some interesting results, and makes sure that I receive credit for getting these!

  14. Posted this on the other topic but I thought it should be shared here as well for folks who wanted updates!

I was able to get some pictures from CSF to share with y’all.

Hershey Track has been loaded on trailers and is ready to leave, I assume they’re running out of space at this point.

There are massive amounts of track sitting farther back on the property that are mostly out of view.

The front looks mostly the same.
