  1. You could be right. That’s the case with Leviathan. I do think that Banshee’s trains are a bit lighter due to the new design, so that could be a reason it is quieter. The only invert I know of that is filled with sand is Talon at Dorney.
  2. That scheme looks awesome from that angle. I wonder if it’ll be for just this year, or permanently.
  3. I doubt that the sound the track makes when tapped on would be considered proprietary. Regardless, I’m not trying to break any rules. Just sharing what I know.
  4. You’re correct, 100% is a bit overkill. I’ve only been able to reach the sections of track at the bottom of the pretzel loop and the bottom of the vertical loop that goes over the lift hill. I don’t have any other B&Ms to base my inference on, however I just assumed based on the sound of the track that it was hollow. 100% is a bit of a stretch, however I’m fairly certain it is hollow... but hey, I’m not an engineer and I didn’t build the ride, so who knows?
  5. No, and I hope I never have to. (Knock on steel)
  6. I can attest with 100% certainty that Banshee’s track IS hollow. I’m not sure about Diamondback’s track though. I’ve never gotten close enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Perhaps if Cedar Fair is happy with Copperhead Strike. (Reliability, Ridership, etc.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I’ll have to get my drone up there at some point. Should be interesting to see from above. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. ~$30 million projects are not able to be switched around at all, let alone with that short of notice. These things need to be planned meticulously. A company like B&M has so many things going on at once that it’d be impossible to move them all around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It also doesn't really make any sense. We just got a new invert, and a wing coaster wouldn't give guests the WOW factor that KI needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. When I was flying around that general area, there were some land clearings. Some are old, some are relatively new. The reality is that there has been land there that was cleared previously for years now. With Diamondback, the entire area was full of trees. Also keep in mind that Diamondback has an out and back layout, with the two sides of track being relatively close to each other. This requires a substantial amount of land to be cleared. If the Giga were to be a terrain coaster, it would require much less land cleared and would play nicely with what they have now.
  13. A lot like Diamondback’s first drop and helix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm assuming you're talking about this? (blue square) It used to be a sewage disposal plant, as seen here: Here is a picture of the property itself:
  15. It seems to be so. The ride looks to be taking the same route as King Cobra. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Heres a little bit of a closer view. Trains are still there!
  17. This IS kind of odd. It’s zoned separately. Maybe with the addition of boomerang bay? Shows a picture of a house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. It may be just me, but I don't think KI (in this case) would tease something huge just to give us something smaller. They're evil, but not THAT evil!
  19. Here is a picture from Warren County's website. It show the property owned by Kings Island in the blue outline.
  20. No feelings hurt! Nothing is 100% sure until the park announces it. It should be an interesting season. Can’t wait to find out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Alright, here we go. I'm sure most all of you have seen the Commencement form filed with Warren County but in case you haven't, I've attached it. Now to break it down. The most important part here is the list of contracts that were executed with different companies. First, we'll look here at Baynum Painting. Sound familiar? Baynum Painting painted Banshee and Diamondback, repainted Dragster and Rougarou and worked on many more notable projects across the United States. I've provided the link to a list of their projects here . Second, we'll look at Brehob Engine and Compressor Co. What does a new roller coaster need? A brand new compressor to operate brakes and other key ride components. We've also seen this same company work on Mystic. I've also attached the Commencement form from 2016 which pertains to the construction of Mystic. (I'll elaborate more on this later). Last but certainly not least, you'll see Bolliger & Mabillard. As I've said before, B&M wouldn't be listed unless Kings Island (or Cedar Fair, the designee) initiated and signed a contract with them. Simple maintenance work through the offseason would not constitute an entirely new contract, let alone a commencement form. It is also worth noting some of the smaller companies listed here that play a key part towards the project as a whole. Some of these are: Exhibit 3 Fabrications-Theming/Signage Kingdom Productions-Theming Ashlee Fence-Construction and/or Lockout Fencing John R. Jurgensen Company-General Contractor for Heavy Equipment and Large Construction Projects Campeon Roofing-New Roof Somewhere... Fenton Rigging Co.-A Crane is Needed Somewhere for this Project Trident Engineering Inc.-Most likely an external inspector making sure work was done correctly before the state comes in. There are some other companies listed on the form, however, the ones I've provided here should give everyone a general idea on what is going into the project. As I said before, I've also attached the commencement form for Mystic, which has a lot of similar companies listed. I think this information speaks for itself. What is coming is no small project. All signs point to a coaster. I rest my case. MMC Commencement 2018.pdf MMC Commencement 2016.pdf I’ve also put these on Google Drive for mobile users: 2018 2016
  22. It's a notice of commencement. A CONSTRUCTION project. Any work happening on an existing ride doesn't need to be reported, unless it's large scale (Replacing an entire section of a ride, leveling land, etc). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. If I recall correctly, Fury track didn't start showing up until March. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
