  1. I agree that these tracks look different. Remember, Firehawk (as X-Flight) was one of the first few models of the Flying Dutchman that Vekoma installed. It is very possible that they have made major upgrades, making the older models almost impossible to find parts for. I also have known people that worked on the ride, and they said that it was a maintenance NIGHTMARE with the mechanism that lifts and lowers the trains (this was several years ago). Also, a friend of mine and I were talking to an employee on the ride last week, and told us that there are also so many minor issues with the restraints having to be fixed almost as often, because they get stuck down. If they have more than 4 seats down, it is deemed inoperable due to capacity. This was confirmed by my friend I was at the park with, who worked in rides for 5 years, that this is a standard procedure on all rides at KI.
  2. It might not be as bad with the KMAA. Remember, construction zones are almost always significantly larger than the final outcome of the project! They have been doing a good job at adding crowd control. A lot of the food and drink places now have queues so that foot traffic is smoother!
  3. I renewed my gold pass and my boyfriend's gold pass, and we went up on Sunday with another friend to use our free Fast Lane Pluses. I do not know how many, "get out of the exits" we heard while going through the FL line or complaints about us "not waiting in line like everyone else" when we had bracelets that said "Fast Lane PLUS"!!!
  4. A few of the coasters re-opened around 10pm-10:30pm, but I think that they sent a lot of the rides employees home because the winds. The rides began to shut down around 5pm-7pm when the wind really picked up.
  5. I was there last weekend on Saturday, and one of the Haunt scarers from the wax museum house was in line for the bathroom, cracking jokes, and staying in character. All the other scarers were breaking character, or at least the roaming ones. I cannot do the smog stuff they have (it stings my eyes) and strobes bother me, so I cannot really do the haunted houses, but my friends who went in them said that they were not a lot of scarers.
  6. That is apparently also why they have the no re-entry after 6pm. Apparently a lot of people would leave, get wasted at a bar up the road, and come back into the park for Haunt. This created safety concerns, so they made a no re-entry rule.
  7. I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes for Banshee, and only once have I seen more than 5 queues open for it. I was there on Saturday last week as well, and the line was spilling out the queue because no queues had been opened yet. We were quoted an hour wait time, but it was maybe 20-30 minutes. On a side note, Mystic, Diamondback, and Vortex are all rides that I have never had to wait more than 45 minutes for, even on extremely crowded days. All four of the rides seem to have quick dispatch times along with getting people loaded and unloaded extremely quick.
  8. Yep! I was there last weekend on Saturday and Sunday (October 20th and 21st), and they added more lights up overnight! But if you think about it, they have about three weeks to set-up from the close of Haunt and the opening of Winterfest. They have a lot of the support poles for lighting out, and have a lot of them just covered in cloth for the Haunt, or are being used for Haunt decorations (the Bayou maze had the candy cane poles up, but covered). Also, I noticed that a lot of the shop and food signage was being taken down (a couple locations already had Winterfest signage up), and the stores were already starting to put out Christmas merchandise. They also had the tree outside of security up, along with at least one other tree in the Coney Mall area in the process of being set up. They also had that troll looking thing out for the Haunt by The Racer. However, putting the decorations up this early do not surprise me, considering the zoo starts setting up their lights in August or September.
  9. They could do something like instead of a tea cups ride, pint glasses that say "Guinness."
  10. I think that they should get more in touch with Cincinnati's Irish Heritage, and maybe start construction on a new Irish themed area...although this is probably not going to happen in the next 10 years.
