The queue is looking to be the one with the best theming at KI so far! I'm so happy that we finally have a good coaster with some great theming!

I believe that Mystic Timbers might just be in contention with The Beast to become the fan favorite of the park. While some people weren't happy that we got MT and not a giga, I was excited because we are finally getting a modern wooden coaster. And after the GP rides it, I feel like they will most definitely warm up to it and realise that it is an amazing ride. It probably won't ever replace The Beast as my personal and sentimental favorite, it will be an amazing ride nonetheless!

^At least she's not working in Planet Snoopy. I've heard many horror stories of employees being driven crazy by the music there. Plus working WindSeeker gets her the awesome soundtrack on that.
If only the WindSeeker soundtrack was used around the rest of the park.

I really want a Sky Roller as much as the next guy but I don't think it would be wise to put it in the same location where a rider was killed.
True, but they did have a picnic grove, a bubble pool, and trampolines. So I don't think they have a problem putting attractions there.

KI needs to add a more modern flat like the ride (idk what model it is) that knotts is getting and that carowinds got, maybe even a new gen enterprise.
They still need to fill the area where flight commander was, thats the perfect spot for something like that with bright lights all over it, it will look great right near the entrance to coney mall.
Also i wish they would just replace the jukebox diner, in all my years of going to KI i haven't eaten there once.
I would say to put a Flying Eagles where Flight Commander was, but they put one in Planet Snoopy so that really takes that out of consideration. I would very much like one of Gerstlauer's Sky Rollers, it's something very unique for the park and would fit the area very well!

Yes! Actually, there was one right where the Jukebox Diner's patio is located.
I hope they re-add one someday, they are such good fun!

International Street needs its own style as well. Nothing compliments the Royal Fountain and Eiffel Tower quite like pop music...
Definitely needs some French style music to fit with the French vibe the area gives off. It would enhance the experience so much!

It seems CF is using Rocky Mountain Construction to fix old, terrible wooden coasters in their parks. Or at least that is the current trend. I can hope for one to come to Kings Island at some point in the near future, but I just don't see it happening any time soon.
Unlike the other CF parks, it seems that all of the wooden coasters are generally well liked by the GP. So I don't think KI would fit in with this trend, unless they decided to make a gutsy move and RMC The Racer.

It really wouldn't make sense for them to reveal what they've been teasing for 8 months, 2 weeks before the ride opens. Not good from a business or entertainment perspectives.

Eh, BLSC, it's okay. It's worth a small thrill when the line is short, but isn't worth waiting longer than 5 minutes. I don't necessarily want to see it go, but if it were removed, I'd probably just shrug my shoulders. I would't have a freakout like, say, The Beast or Racer were removed. It's just not at a good place in the park and I think having something like Antique Cars or some sort of historical attraction that takes you through the park's history or a new dark ride would give KI more variety.
It's just in such an odd place, just smack dab in the middle of 2 different themed areas. It most certainly belonged in Action Zone, and it would have fit much better there.

Concerning some of the GP, SOB was popular in spite of its roughness. I still remember all the posts around the internet of GP defending its roughness. It was quite a polarizing ride, that's for sure. I've never seen such split opinions on a coaster before.
And hopefully because The Racer is a classic, it will be loved as long as it is still open

Wow! The theming for this ride is coming close to Busch Gardens level! It looks great!
i can tell you right now if Kinzel were still at the helm they would've just built the coaster and called it a day lol.
Very true! I'm so happy to actually see some theming on this ride, and hopefully it's showing what we'll possibly see in the future with other rides.

I know the off season is almost over when I am having vivid dreams of walking around the park and am counting down the remaining 13 days of the offseason!

I think The Racer will get some major trackwork done soon. I think a lot of the GP will be surprised how smooth wooden coasters can be after they ride MT.
Hopefully after MT opens, people won't stop riding The Racer because they think it's too rough now.

Probably around 1989, I was with my cousin playing around in the arcade over by the Zephyr. We walked over to that bowling ball game, and there was this dad playing next to his son. The dad tried it about 3 times and lost. He was really upset because he wanted to win something for his son.
The son, who was probably around 7 years old, said "Daddy, let me try."
The dad tried to explain how hard it was, and how heavy the ball was, etc.
Eventually the dad caved and let the kid have a shot.
First try: BOOOM! Nailed it. A perfect try. Great technique. Like a pro.
But that wasn't the crazy thing.
The dad let him try again.
This time the kid closed his eyes when he pushed the ball.
BOOOM! Again! Twice in a row. The dad was hollering and the worker kid was hollering. I was hollering. It was amazing.
Of course, the kid had to try a third time, to get the biggest prize.
By now, a crowd had gathered. Probably 25-30 people. The "guess your weight" barker was even into it.
The kid grabs the ball, turns his head around to look at his dad (who was behind him) and said "got it" as he pushed the ball.
BOOOOOOOM!!!
Crowd went crazy. High fives. Strangers hugging. The dad picked up the kid in his arms. I may have cried.
The kid picked the big prize (a bear or something) and they walked off.
Incredible.

I am so excited for the Iron Horse remake! Mean Streak was definitely one of the weakest coasters at CP, so now it's being changed to potentially one of the strongest.

Dude, it's hot outside. I am not wearing "going out" clothes to KI. I'm in a tee and shorts. I enjoy KI for rollercoasters and rides, not as a potential dating service.
Plus, I absolutely hate the idea of jeans in the summer. I am not sure why anybody does that...
I only wear jeans in the winter when all my sweats are in the wash! Those things are incredibly scratchy and everyone is always perplexed as to why I hate jeans! I would only ever wear my shorts unless it's Haunt season!

I would like to see a Eurofighter but I could see it fitting in better in X-base or Action Zone.
That's a better idea then mine!! A Eurofighter would definitely fit over there, but I think they would have to replace Congo Falls if that happened because I think they are saving the SOB station/area as room for our inevitable giga.

I think Adventure Express would beg to differ
But I see what you mean, an RMC hybrid! I don't think I'd want Racer touched, other than maybe regular maintenance of replacing wood and maybe a repaint of its current colors.
Also, speaking of RMC, did you hear about their new project coming to Kiddytown in 2018? Check it out on Coaster101!
That was very funny!!

I'd prefer RMC Topper track for Racer because it would keep it in the "wooden" coaster category. Iron Horse or "IBox" track would classify it as a hybrid.
A Hyrbid would be something new for the park, but I wouldn't want Racer being changed (sans Topper Track) anytime soon! I think the only Hybrid we would ever get is a new hybrid coaster, and not an Iron Horse remake.

If it were to be removed, I believe there would be enough room for a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. I think it would be a great addition to the park, and would provide enough room for additional decoration, plants, and trees in the areas it doesn't touch on that plot of land.

Maybe? I don't know the logistics of it all, but I guess anything is possible with money and creativity.
