  1. This data is largely being ignored. https://www.sfgate.com/science/article/China-study-suggests-outdoor-transmission-of-15229649.php I don't know why it's being ignored because it makes a lot of sense on a lot of levels---especially in Spring and Summer. And it largely follows hundreds of years of general logic and understanding about virus-spread-knowledge. Kings Island might actually be a safe-space.
  2. LOL. Also why I don't do delivery much. For the $ I gotta pay for delivery plus tip I can get another order of breadsticks I don't need. Or another large on carryout special...that I also don't need.
  3. I get that. But, it depends. Several events we've found being up front is totally spoiled worth it. As long as the price is not completely outrageous, that is. We all have to budget accordingly.
  4. I was on their e-mail list, but never bought tix. Looked kinda cool, but good seats were expensive ($100+ up front). Maybe worth it but I never tracked down enough reviews to determine how good it is/was.
  5. Pulled up the Diamond Back cam this morning. Yes it was chilly today, but really strange to see the trees and park looking fabulous on a May Saturday morning...and not a soul there. Freaking weird. I hate this.
  6. This is the 2nd Jurassic Park reference I've seen here lately. I only saw the movie...did Jurassic Park actually open in the book? Because in the original movie it never did actually open.
  7. I wonder if Kings Island will still limit capacity---even ride capacity---after the governor lifts all restrictions. The customer demand is going to be there, and as a result so will be the $. This limited this-or-that could be very short-lived, is what I'm thinking.
  8. Blast from the past link: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-cdc-says-americans-dont-have-to-wear-facemasks-because-of-coronavirus-2020-01-30 Actually was only 67 days ago by my count. 67 days ago the CDC, US Dept of Health and Human Services, the Surgeon General, and people at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health were literally saying, "don't bother with a mask". Basically everybody. How quickly times can change.
  9. The whole "2nd peak", "next peak" thing is an interesting conversation. New York has clearly had their first peak. Indiana? Ohio? Yes, Maybe, No? You can even break it down by county. Tippecanoe County, Indiana has 202 cases with a population of over 190,000. That's about 1 in every 955 people. Meanwhile Cass County, Indiana has 1469 positives and a population of ~39,000. That's like 1 in 26 have it. Because they have a Tyson plant. Both counties only have 2 recorded deaths despite the large discrepancy in positive cases. That might change, but it's also why things are opening up. The key on the death tally is clearly keeping old folks out of harm's way, whatever the positives.
  10. Yeah. I originally thought early July but things are moving so fast now I think mid-June is feasible IF the park can be ready. Which if I recall is also when Holiday World is opening.
  11. I go to the Indy 500, I go to Kings Island...the ticket says you enter at your own risk. So accept the risk or don't. It's entirely up to you to protect yourself. My daughter plays softball...I tell her repeatedly, "protect yourself at all times". Because life will happen.
  12. Some of you need to just put on a full-blown bodysuit to ride a coaster, if that's what floats your boat. At a certain point it's no longer about us, it's about you. Do we all need bodysuits to make you happy? Is that next?
  13. I also like it when people post a link that informs me. I feel relatively educated, and for sure opinionated, but I appreciate learning new things here, too. Should be a collaboration of ideas and information, and fun. All of that.
  14. Can you be more specific? I don't think this forum is subject to peer-review (prior to posting) perxactly. So...?
  15. You darn well do if your life---and perhaps your wife and kids---are depending on you to run back into that burning building! Not everyone can just sit back and say, "well, at least I'm alive today". I think most people posting here are in relatively good shape. How would you feel being in one of these 10,000 cars showing up at dawn in San Antonio...just so you can eat today?
  16. Only about 200 max (on average) die from food allergies in a year in the USA. And that includes peanut allergies. Where I work the entire workplace has been re-thought due to peanut allergies. We don't do much of anything about the yearly flu that kills 10's of thousands. But peanut folks...bending over backwards for them. Just providing information.
  17. Cedar Fair hates trees. That much is clear. Trees and foliage are just a nuisance to them. If I could change one and only thing about their business plans it would be this. I'm not even a tree-hugging-hippie, nor what many would consider an environmentalist. But, dang. They really need to fix this.
  18. Menards (if ya'll have those where you live) won't let you in without a mask. You're met by a bouncer that either lets you in, or sends you over to another line to buy a mask for $1.
  19. I do see American hornets, wasps, and other bees kill an average of 62 people per year in USA...
  20. The problem is every doctor in the world has a different experience. I think they're all telling their truth. But they absolutely do not agree.
  21. I think this was a thing, I'm not sure how it is now where you live today. My brother-in-law got tested this week, tested negative. He really wasn't that ill, but in a video-conference with the doctor, the doc just told him...just come on in and get tested. They're testing sick people of all kinds where I'm at, but...not many are sick. So, not many are getting tested.
  22. There's a legitimate problem with how the Covid-19 death count is being taken as well. There are all sorts of problems honestly. So many problems that it is really hard to determine media coverage from fact. It's 2020, you'd think we'd be way over that, but no. Everyone can find a headline to support their viewpoint. We've learned a lot March 1 to May 1. I anticipate we will also learn a lot from May 1 to July 1.
