  1. I still think the new smoking section is behind the basketball game, but I could be wrong. Sadly, I am a smoker, and the area I see on the webcams looks like my new spot to watch Diamondback when taking a "break".
  2. Yeah, it certainly looks like a basketball game to me! :-) I bet they put netting up somewhere, but mostly to protect the folks down below. The thought of someone throwing a basketball at the coaster...yikes. Could have happened before I guess if you think about it. It'd be pretty hard to hit your mark with a basketball I think but that's a one-way ticket to some serious time in the "slammer" regardless of what you're throwing.
  3. The backboards are easily interchanged with bolts more or less. You could change those weekly...it's that easy. I'm no expert by any means, but I have put in a goal at home many years ago. The pole has a big square metal piece welded onto it, with holes for the bolts that mount the backboard. KI might use a slightly different setup, but the basic concept has to be the same.
  4. Ideally you WOULD put the goals in before putting in the concrete foundation in front of it. Otherwise, you risk tearing up the foundation when you put in the goals. Just sayin'.
  5. I'm sure I don't know what they're doing, but seeing as the new funnel cake stand is going right next to where the smoking section under Diamondback was...could they just be clearing out a spot for smokers to sit? Not very exciting to some, but you don't want the smokers right by the new food stand either.
  6. Is this on the side where the smoking section used to be, or is it on the helix side?
  7. I'm thoroughly confused by this picture, but...whatever...it'll all make sense come mid-April. :-)
  8. Whatever keeps me from getting stuck 300 feet in the air for hours on end until they fix it! Seriously, my single biggest fear in the park...lol.
  9. I wouldn't mind a water feature in the middle of the helix, with some nice vegetation and places to sit down there.
  10. I don't remember how to put on the restraints to Firehawk, but no worries, they'll make sure you're in there rather than letting you fall out. ;-) Don't sweat it.
  11. How much ya got?? If you want a really amazing day add $75 and get a Fast Lane Plus ticket, and ride and ride and ride and ride....
  12. If the park is busy---or even if not---take advantage of the flat rides. Viking Ship. I somehow almost always end up getting on Shake Rattle and Roll. The lines are short, and provide a good time when you're tired of standing in long lines. You won't lose much time on the big rides waiting for a couple minutes to get on some of the smaller ones. Heck, even Boo Blasters is a nice change-up.
  13. I'll politely suggest that Don could have made it clearer, but that is not to suggest I do not appreciate his posts. This is the Internet, where folks can and will misInterpret lots of things in the absence of sound and body language.
  14. LOL...I was trying so hard to make it clear and easy---finally---for everyone. :-)
  15. Parking is free for everyone with a Coasterstock ticket!
  16. My bad. Misread it. I thought he was saying even a "regular" season pass would get you free parking. Good ole Internet...my apologies! But why would Gold and Platinum passholders 'need to use their SP' if it's already included? Anyhoo...
  17. My bad. Misread it. I thought he was saying even a "regular" season pass would get you free parking. Good ole Internet...my apologies!
  18. Perhaps there was just a miscommunication. Technically, parking is not included with Coasterstock tickets as I've read it here. You have to have some sort of season pass to get free parking.
  19. Meh. "Fair" is totally subjective, but I see your point. Still prefer the Kings Island Fast Lane way. I suppose they could tier it further, but I'd like to see a front-of-the-line-pass exist at all parks. Even if it costs a fortune.
  20. ^ You must not buy Fast Lane passes then...lol. Because jumping straight to the front of the line at Kings Island is certainly "better" when you've just dropped a bunch of dough to do so versus jumping to the not-front-of-the-line. :-)
  21. I might be in the minority, but I'd be shocked---and I mean really, massively shocked---not to mention a bit upset if they eliminated Fast Lane altogether. I absolutely love it on the rare occasions I indulge. When I don't it doesn't bother me. I'm more concerned how they'll price it this year, and the Fast Lane vs. Fast Lane Plus lineup.
  22. I always felt the area where the old funnel cake stand stood, was not a great area. Almost nobody went under the awning to sit and eat or rest and relax. It was just a wasted space back there. Wasted space in a high-traffic area. I also wonder how many people blew right past the entrance to WWC not even realizing it was there? More than a few.
  23. Sure...but I don't think they are building it inside of the train loop in what was/is the woods? Something else going on there.
  24. Whatever they're doing, I hope I like it. :-) Either way...it's nice to see them trying to make it better for us!
  25. Honestly, done right, the ability to move the pictures where they need to go should be cake. Should be. Picture traffic could be significant during crazy busy times, but I'd bet their network is pretty good for this simple type of thing. But...when there are people involved anything can---and will---go wrong from time-to-time.
