  1. I saw this the other day and was pretty excited as I watch his videos daily. I was wondering if he would be heading this way when he was in Indianapolis. His visits to Indiana Beach have been pretty enjoyable watching as well.
  2. One hour for Coconut Cove last year on one of the dollar days.
  3. The new system they have for doing orders at the food place in Soak City has greatly improved their speed of service. I also like that they now have a queue line for food there as it at least keeps the line from going halfway through the walkway.
  4. The last few times I've ridden the Zephyr I always seem to be on when the same one working is there. He always finds a cute girl that is riding the ride and asks her to request a song and then as the ride is going he starts singing the song over the mic. He's not even a good singer but obviously had American Idol dreams but it's cancellation took away those dreams. But being strapped into the ride listening to poor renditions of Adele and other new "hip" singers is just inhumane. I would just skip the ride when I see him working but it's one of my daughter's favorite rides so that's out of the question.
  5. I would say Boo Blasters, it's just almost not worth riding anymore. I don't see any coasters being removed anytime soon.
  6. To be fair, they do have 3 at Juke Box Diner, the third one is on the other side that is only open on high capacity days. And I am one of those that had issues with my pass, and it was not user error. I went over to the cashier following having issues with the kiosk and my pass worked just fine with the season dining deal.
  7. Still say that Shake Rattle and Roll is the best spot to watch the fireworks. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  8. Most rides are a minimal wait right now due to the rain this morning. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  9. I haven't seen it mentioned yet, may have missed it, but they now have food ordering kiosks over at Juke Box Diner. It may be elsewhere but I've only been to Juke today. And of course the kiosk couldn't find my meal plan... Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. So nice of Don to call out KI Central directly for Project 2017! https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/739861885298823169
  11. They usually bring that out for the dog days over at Soak City during the Halloween season, I always kinda wondered why it was never out during the regular season in the kids area.
  12. Today was an excellent day! Went up at 11 with my daughter and stayed over at Soak City for the first few hours then headed over to the food truck festival for some food to eat (no lines at Kings Island for food, how nice!). After eating food we went and watched the first Origins show of the day then rode Congo Falls, log flume, and White Water Canyon (got drenched!). After doing that we headed over to Soak City and rode a few more water slides then moved my car over to the dry side of the park. When we came back in we caught the last Origins show of the day then ate dinner. After that rode Adventure Express, Racer, bumper cars, and Backlot Stunt Coaster. Then we watched the last showing of Off the Charts, so glad it's back to the stage at the end of the fountains instead of where it was last year, much better atmosphere. After that we caught the fireworks and went home. Can't say I have ever had a day at Kings Island where we only did 3 roller coaster rides with the first ride not being until 8pm and still be able to say it was a great day, but it was! It was an added bonus that the crowd was light, especially at the water park early in the day, so we got to walk on most of the water slides to start the day.
  13. Most animals at the zoo have little to no interaction with humans with the exception of the smaller animals that pose no threat. Of course they will see the humans when they get fed and when there is people looking at them, but really other than that that's about it, they are usually sedated when they need medical attention.
  14. Very bad that a parent can't keep a child from crawling through a fence to fall down into the moat, just ridiculous. As for the safety of the enclosure from guests, the zoo's next big project is to completely re-do the gorilla exhibit, this is supposed to be the next project after the hippo exhibit. So it sounds like they already had plans of taking care of any type of accident like this in the future, just that unfortunately the accident happened before they could begin construction. There are many exhibits at the zoo where I could very easily jump the railing and get in right in front of the animals, the rhino exhibit comes to mind. The barriers at zoos are developed in a way more to keep animals from getting out into the general public areas than they are of keeping the general public from entering the enclosures, notice that the gorillas in all 38 years have never jumped into the viewing area, that would be because there is sufficient barriers to keep them out. Do we really need to start putting glass houses around every single animal now though to make them feel like they are even more caged in just because neglectful parents can't keep their children from going through obvious barriers? If my daughter were to even attempt something like that she wouldn't of even made it half way through the railing before being hauled off and home and grounded.
  15. No matter how badly a winter event flops or who owns Kings Island, with time Winterfest will always be on the table. Corporate management is always going to be looking for ways to generate revenue on a year round basis. Yes they will look for revenue, but they will only use that revenue if they think it will make a profit.
  16. As much as I would love to see a return of Winterfest at Kings Island, I just don't see it happening. There is no way Kings Island would charge less than $20/ticket to get into the park and the zoo is already less than that, and I would guess that most people would make their decision on a winter trip to be Winterfest or Festival of Lights due to the tradition of Festival of Lights and the lower price. Not many families can afford more than one trip in the middle of Christmas season.
  17. When I rode the train the other day they said WWC wouldn't be opening until AFTER Memorial Day. Don't know if he just had a poor choice of words but I had heard previously it was opening the same day as Soak City.
  18. I believe that was a stage for something they were doing with the educational day at the park, I kept hearing it over the PA about going in front of Festhaus for a demonstration.
  19. Not saying it disproves anything, but I have seen that color used on the Eiffel Tower before.
  20. The Cincinnati Enquirer posted this to their website today, pretty cool picture of the Eiffel Tower construction that I haven't seen before... http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2016/05/19/enquirer-throwback-kings-island/84357234/
  21. Sounds like whoever you talked to on the phone didn't care one bit and was just saying whatever she could to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. Poor training I guess even goes to their customer service departments... I'm sure they've been fed the line that "You all will get some calls early in the year about our food service, just explain you know there's an issue but we cannot issue refunds. Give it a few months when everyone learns about our great new drink refill stations and those lines will be history!!!".
  22. I know it was because of the light crowd, but it was extremely refreshing to be at the park on Sunday and not have to wait in any lines for food. I was literally the only person in line for food at the Juke Box Diner at 6:30pm. Compare this to the weekend prior where I stood in line at Skyline in Coney Mall for 10 minutes with the line not moving one inch and finally just saying let's go somewhere else to eat which we ended up going over to Planet Snoopy Grill where the line moved efficiently and didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to get our food. Also saw the young supervisor there who was working her tail off to keep everything in order as it looked like she was in charge of both the Snoopy Grill AND the ice cream shop... and at Skyline, I saw no supervisor, just slow service.
  23. I can barely fit onto Drop Tower right now, I am trying to lose weight so I don't get to the point of not being able to ride it, especially after my daughter just now started wanting to ride it.
  24. When I rode the train today the associate speaking on the mic said that they were doing a full renovation of White Water Canyon and that it would be a noticeable change to the ride experience. I am only taking it with a grain of salt until I actually get to ride it at the end of May, but I'd be interested to see what the difference is and if it has anything to do with what they are putting in. As Magenta said earlier, they are also getting brand new pumps.
  25. Perfect day to be here, already rode most of the rides and got here at 1 Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
