  1. I don't know, how much do you expect the bolts to loosen? How tight are the torque tolerances on them? If they let things get too loose they risk destruction.
  2. Cedar Point, 4th of July weekend, midnight or 1AM closes, not busy? Are you sure you've been?
  3. Now you know what it feels like to try to get to your next class during passing time in high school.. Even in the stairwells.
  4. It's not an attraction right now... It's closed until Haunt? I don't know, I'm just going along with everyone else here.
  5. It wasn't completely empty but it was empty of an attraction. Same with The Box of The Crypt.
  6. For one, Lake Erie Eagles was not a FastLane (or Plus) ride last year. For another, um...
  7. If you want to park on the grass, just go to Cedar Point on a weekend 4th of July with nice weather. That place gets so beyond packed it's ridiculous. You might even make the news all the way out to Detroit because of how many hours it took to leave the parking lot.. Er, grass. And by grass, I mean way back between Mean Streak and Gemini, around the corner from the so-called "Soak City lot".
  8. 6-7 minute dispatch time? Okay, correct me if I'm wrong. Let's assume 6 minutes. That's 60 (minutes/hr) / 6 (minutes/cycle) = 10 (cycles/hr). Say you fill up an average of 10 (riders/cycle), so a couple have two riders. 10 (riders/cycle) * 10 (cycles/hr) = 100 (riders/hr) Ouch. That can't be, can it? Then again, pairing everyone up and hitting 3 minute cycles would be 60 / 3 * 16 = 320 (riders/hr). Ouch.
  9. Clearly the supervisor was poorly trained.. $25 is likely the minimum to have to sign a merchant-copy receipt, not to receive one.
  10. 1) Nobody loses their minds. 2) Fury 325 has a lift hill with evacuation stairs. Evacuation simply involves climbing down a giant staircase. 3) Evacuating WindSeeker? Well, they've got to assemble some new-fangled contraption, attach it to the ride structure, test it, and eventually send it up to catch riders from beneath. Yeah. Sounds great. I could go on, but.. What double standard? WindSeekers are horrible. Fury 325 is a highly reliable, very safe ride produced by one of the best names in the industry. I'm torn.. I was hoping they would have a POS position open up but I might have to settle for being a server instead.
  11. OMG, they were stranded! More like the ride safely came to a stop and park employees checked in on them to ensure they were doing well before the ride could be safely restarted or they could be safely evacuated. Notice the presence of the word "safely", indicating that riders were safe at all times. Also, stranded? Did the ride just kinda stop and employees were nowhere to be found? They went home for the night, like a kid being left on a school bus? Yeah, they were never stranded. I've had an evac on Gatekeeper's brake run. They have to bring out a little step stool for you to get down "safely". Throughout the entire process, never was I worried or did I feel stranded. I was safe at all times. Besides, amusement rides shut down all the time and nobody is hurt or stranded. It's not a big deal.
  12. $15/ea for replacements. If you think you can find them, they'll print off a "Plat forgot my pass" slip at the Season Pass Center, supposedly only a couple times before making you get a replacement. My understanding is that the All Season Dining Plan is only available on a payment plan when purchased with a pass also on a payment plan. Otherwise, you'll have to pay the full amount upfront.
  13. Part of the advertised experience is "customizing" your ride experience. It's hard to do that when so intimately close to someone you've never met before. Even for people who know each other, it's part of the experience to have your own tub to control as you wish. That's just kinda how the ride is designed, IMO, and pairing people up that would rather not be paired does not enhance the guest experience beyond the wait time. It would make the ride experience unenjoyable, in my opinion.
  14. That reminds me, I owe an Adventure Express ride op a nickel. Story time! On that day during Haunt last season when the park was almost completely dead, my brother and I had an Adventure Express train to ourselves (well, also The Racer and Firehawk). When we got back to the station, they asked the typical "How was your ride?!?" My response? Something about it being really creepy and yet totally awesome. His response? "If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that, I'd have one nickel." I was tempted to marathon it for another 19 laps and then hand him a dollar, but alas, other rides were calling. Edit: The creepiness came from having an entire 30 seat train for 2 people, at night, in the dark, in the nicely wooded terrain. Oh, and to that op, if you're on here, hi!
  15. Hmm... It sounds like they had to go harvest the potatoes, wheat, and tomatoes, then slice to order for those food items. Sorry for the double post. Meant to combine these two but the tea hasn't kicked in yet.
  16. The petting zoo animals, yes.. Guests, as humans, are also animals. It seems they did not wait for warmer weather to flock to the park for opening weekend.. Er, day.
  17. You win, Terpy. I'm now sitting here with a mostly-finished Snapple Peach Tea by way of meijer. Wait, sorry, it's only stylized as meijer in their logo. In text, it's Meijer. Remind you of another recent discussion?
  18. I had a lot of FUN last night. I have the same amount of FUN today. Sadly, I did not have any fun with FUN. Glad to hear you enjoyed the park!
  19. There's a lot of stuff missing from the mobile site. *sigh*
  20. "Free" is a powerful word. Especially when combined with a gate price that's typically quite high and weather that is pleasant.
  21. What is TEA? Alas, the nearest CFA is at least a hundred miles away at the moment. Edit: Okay, so it's just under 58 miles to the nearest one in Toledo, if you exclude the one at a university.
  22. TEA? Are you cross-threading? I think I'm gonna have to go pick up some iced tea, but not sure where.
  23. If I had to guess, that's probably quite high..
