  1. No, I think the message was that 1% of the park visitors care that much about eating healthy while they're at the park. I'm guessing it's not a 99/1 split. But considering a family of 4 who don't have a passes are looking at roughly $300 just to park their car and get into the park, I imagine most people in the general public look at a trip to the park as a mini vacation and decide to just go with the flow while they're in the park.
  2. ^ Sorta, I guess. I think some on that thread want to focus more on figuring out the clues we've been given, where this (title, anyway) is just about rumors...splitting hairs, I know.
  3. My experience with FoF summed up: Wow, I sure do wish I had just a couple more inches for my legs and knees, this is really uncomfortable (my step son feels the same) HOLY COW! That launch is cool OH COOL, it's dark in here Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch My knee hurts Ouch Ouch Can I get off now?
  4. Thanks for the pointer on the map/parking. Looks like that is the way to go.
  5. I'm not an accountant, but my understanding is that a capital expenditure is an accounting term/classification for an expenditure to acquiring or maintaining assets such as land, buildings an equipment. My sales buddies throw the term CAPEX around for these. Winterfest, I would think, would would be an operating expense (OPEX, from the same sales buddies). I don't see a purpose in announcing an expenditure to maintain anything. So, assuming what I've read about the next announcement involving a capital spend is accurate, I'm guessing there's something new coming. It doesn't need to be a ride or attraction, it could be a new funnel cake stand or a toll plaza and reopening of the south entrance.
  6. I should have stated above that we're taking friends who do not have passes, so ERT is not an option for our entire group. We might save Valravn for the last ride of the day. I doubt we'll get a chance to hit any rides multiple times, but depends on too many variables to accurately predict, honestly.
  7. ^ we're not really big fans of Racer, the kids and wife will probably see it as too similar and decide to skip.
  8. I've read that the second announcement was a 'capital' announcement. I'm not sure Winterfest qualifies, but I'm leaning toward agreeing with you that it's coming back. I know rumors are everywhere and all over the place in theme, but where there's smoke there's fire (more often than not) and this one keeps coming up. I never got to go back in the day and would like to take my family for it (assuming our platinum passes will get us in) I just...why would they do the Christmas in July thing and not announce WF during that? It seems like it was a missed opportunity timing-wise.
  9. Taking the family for our first ever trip to CP (OK, I was there ~30yrs ago)... Was planning on starting at Valravn and heading clockwise (as much as we can mange) around the park, skipping Gemini and the 'family' rides . Is this a good idea or bad? Should we start at another coaster first to minimize wait time? Bummed to hear about TTD, hoping it's back up for Sunday.
  10. Taking my family to the Point this weekend. I haven't been in ~30 years, and they've never been. We will ride MS for the same reason a mountain climber climbs...because it's there. Knowing it's in its last season of operation just adds to that reason.
  11. I know it was mentioned last year when we were getting hits about the water park addition and the toll plaza...wouldn't a revamp of the main gate fall under both the 'major' and 'capital' banners in the accounting books?
  12. I think it would make the ride more fun, but I'm not sure the ROI is there...by that I mean I have no idea how much 'I' is involved, let alone how park calculate the 'R'.
  13. I'm not a huge fan of the ride, but that's mainly because it is such a long way to walk for such a short ride. Other than that, I really do enjoy it. I have no issue with the current name. In fact, I kinda like homage being paid to the original hanging coaster. I barely remember the theming of the original, but I do recall the cars were black (and at least the front car was shaped like a bat). If they could retheme/paint (I know that's not trivial) to be more like the original, I think it would be perfect.
  14. ^ While I agree, I don't like dealing in absolutes. It would be a first, I think, to expand with two coasters in one year, but there's a first time for everything. I'm in no way saying I believe there's another coaster in the works. Probably not even a flume or flat that would require permits for construction, or else I'm guessing those would have been discovered in Mason city hall by now. It's probably a dark ride utilizing an existing structure that will be renovated to suit. Then again, remember when the toll plaza was part of last year's hints? The second announcement could be something as mundane (in terms of 'attractions').
  15. I was mainly thinking about "roll out the barrels" one, but how does the "Yo Adrian" fit MT? Many thought that mean either Philadelphia Toboggan Coaster or RMC, neither are correct. Other than the image being taken in the woods, I don't see a connection (perhaps I'm reading too much into the text, I'll admit). I'm honestly not recalling the others, except for the two with the trains...
  16. I am thinking both MT and the yet-to-be-announced attraction are both part of #KIProject2017 and we've already gotten teasers for it.
  17. I understand that point, being a person that is larger than what rides are typically designed for, I'm hoping this means I won't be uncomfortable when I ride it.
  18. That would be pretty cool...I just hope that those elements don't fall into disrepair as a lot of theme elements seem to do.
  19. ^ i saw the video of the shed. My point was that it probably isn't a typical coaster element given that (appearance of) space constraint and the proximity to the station and the speed the trains would liekly be traveling.
  20. If you watch the POV the shed is VERY near the station (on the right hand side as the POV leaves the station), almost right next to it. Not sure what kind of elements they could add that aren't like AE or maybe a mini dark ride...
  21. ^ Red text hurts my eyes. Nobody's opinion is invalid, though. You're happy this ride is what it is, others are not. Neither are wrong in wanting what they want.
  22. I have really good internet, too. It's a requirement with two teen gamers in the house (and two gamer parents). I can stream live MLB games, Netflix, Amazon Prime and play games all at once. The stream was unwatchable. The problem was on KI's side, or the platform they chose.
  23. Can someone please repost the link to watch the live stream? Also, anybody know if it will work on a Roku (so my whole family can watch in the living room)?
  24. I'd say it's a cultural norm, or becoming the norm. When the most popular shows on TV aren't on broadcast TV and therefore "get away" with things not allowed on broadcast TV, people get used to it (some would say desensitized). There's nothing wrong with cultural norms shifting. Actually, it's a good thing. While every era has it's pros and cons I'd hate to be stuck with the culturals norms of, say, 1953.
  25. The first part, I don't totally agree with. I've been on the receiving end of confidential information and known features of products before they were public. It takes time to build credibility, but if one source has accurate info about multiple (related) topics, it happens. I agree it's suspect, but that doesn't mean it's untrue...we'll find out in a few weeks.
