  1. I guess you are stressed all the time when you are on KIC then...
  2. I miss the "international" music on International Street from the 70's and 80's. Polka, classical and what we called "Paris music." Kings Dominion IS soundtrack on Spotify is as close to what I remember as it can get for me.
  3. And then there was this issue of the neighbors who complained about noise.
  4. ^T3 isn't terrible. But I think it gives their social media team good fodder for postings.
  5. I don't know from firsthand experience. But a Brian Rose asked the exact same question on the KI Season Passholders Facebook page earlier today. You may be able to find out there.
  6. ^You just love those spinners, dont you @SonofBaconator? I'll ride it with you if you dont mind seeing me vomit after the ride is over! lol
  7. I think it was in the KK SP holders Facebook page. And yes, if you bought your 2020 pass after a certain date this year, it is only good for 2020 and was at a discounted rate. I hope you get to use it while they are open.
  8. I don't know if it's the heat that has kept some people away or not. It has me. I went yesterday (Tuesday) and it seems like it was almost normal as far as crowds. I have to admit, it was a nice sight to see. Kentucky KIngdom just added days in August to their calendar.. While they have canceled the Halloween event, they feasibly could add weekends in for fall fun. I think having the waterpark open has been advantageous for them.
  9. Coaster experiences are subjective. For me, Mean Streak was boring. It was not a terrible ride, just extremely boring. Hurler at Cwinds was also boring. Hades 360 was a terrible ride for me--ot comfortable at all. Same way with Hurler. But some people love Hurler, Hades 360 and the former Mean Streak.
  10. ^I never got to ride the KD Hurler, but the Carowinds Hurler was truly terrible. Like if you took Mean Streak. added In some Hades 360 and some other random terrible coasters.
  11. Many Intamins have very short seatbelts. I have frozen shoulders, so my ROM is limited which makes me have to need assistance on TTD. I usually can get things on Millie by myself. Steel Vengeance has given me no issues. Maverick has very easy and comfortable restraints. Congratulations on the 40 lb weight loss! That's quite an accomplishment!
  12. KK's coasters may not be the biggest, tallest or fastest, but they certainly are very well maintained. No skimping there. I've never ridden another Vekoma SLC, but as bad as T3 is, it seems to be one of the better ones with the new trains. Thanks for explaining the radius on Thunder Run. It has always bugged me and now I know!
  13. Haha Hurler. How Thunder Run could just be a mirror to Hurler but be such a better ride baffles me. Hurler could be demolished today and I would have no ill feelings towards Carowinds. The area between those two attractions is very nice. Good to sit in the shade and relax. Very pretty too.
  14. Hmmmm.....maybe they modified the frame of the Liberty Bell to transform it into the stein.
  15. I haven't been able to experience it much this year, but what I did hear was "OK." I'm glad there is no longer just pop music all over the park. I like that the park changes things up yearly.
  16. Confusion and irritability are hallmark symptoms of urinary tract infections.
  17. I don't think Cincy was ever the wild west. But then again, there was no giant Beast roaming around or a vine that took revenge on a lumber company in 1983, or a giant metal robot that squeezed things tightly.
  18. KI enthusiasts: The park doesn't do ANYTHING for us. Their YouTube isn't updated. We can't fly drones or post off season ariel pictures. There is no Orion POV. This sucks! The park: Ok, here's a Orion POV! Here's some nice high quality footage shot around the park on YouTube. KI enthusiasts: The Orion POV is terrible and amateur. The quality of the shots from yesterday is subpar. It looks like Coaster Studios shot it. I can't find it on YouTube. It doesn't suit my needs. The park: I can't believe these people.
  19. I just ask for the house sauce, and it was free. Did you know you can make Chicken Shack chicken at home? And the sauce too? I've done it twice and it was quite tasty! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2020/april/kings-islands-famous-chicken-shack-chicken-tenders-and-secret-sauce?fbclid=IwAR294C1R0VTbnjInAutWDS6-11MOqvvHn2AfY_fmT0WdplZlWbyFDVUA3_o
  20. When someone quotes someone who I've blocked, unfortunately I see their comments. But I have to laugh at some of the things some people on here expect: punishment, forcing people to comply and the like. It's an amusement park.
  21. CF buys KK and relocates it to Shelbyville with huge tax incentives. They get a giga, strata, and a relocated Diamondback. KI's attendance shrinks but the neighbors still complain about noise. The KI enthusiasts continue to complain about everything KI and CF do. The plug is pulled when CF relocates the Eifel Tower to Canada's Wonderland, Mystic Timbers and Adventure Express to Kings Dominion, Orion to Cedar Point, Banshee to Gilroy Gardens, The Bat to Conneaut Lake Park and a sign that says come and get it on Invertigo. The dry park is closed and they focus on Soak City which is then bought by Coney Island and closed. Mason and Kings Mills bicker over the site and it sits dormant for years. All hypothetical.
  22. I want a B&M strata. It could be Beastly Infinity.
  23. You have to remember that it's not just Mr. Hart. He has a team of investors. He has said that KK is a "cash cow." The investments they have added do not belong to them. They become assets of the Fair Board. Also to note--when I visited over a week ago, the empty land outside the park...think from the maintenance building on over to the freeway...was cleared and dirt was being moved. I don't know if this is fair board land or land Mr. Hart has gobbled up. It's rumored to be parking lot space so that the park is less dependent on the fair boards whims. It definitely is interesting.
  24. He and his partners have every right to sell the rights to operate the park if they decide it is in their best interest. That sale is up to the state Fair Board to approve per contract. I would imagine they would be extra cautious after the pandemic, until parks have recovered financially which will be years. But that is all for speculation in the KK main thread.
  25. So I guess Intamin is the new Vekoma...ripping off innovations from other companies.
