  1. I'll be at either preview night, opening day, or both.
Don't have time to hunt it down at the moment: is preview night renewing passholders only again this year, or is it all passholders now? If the former, then I'll have to wait until opening day.

Look at that site, it's unclear also, it just says Gold and Platinum Pass holders so I assume that means all pass holders a10186a4209d79afa6ff24ee952febc2.jpg

  2. And keep in mind that the hours on Easter are shortened.  The park is open 12-7 on Easter Sunday.

Yes! We do Easter Breakfast at like 9am so we were going to drive up after and enjoy the day. Our families don't do much for Easter and with me working weekends, I know I'll be off that day

I don't think The Bat will go because it's a fairly family friendly coaster. I'm a giant chicken when it comes to the big coasters, so I appreciate smaller ones like The Bat. The queue line to it though is absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah it's defiantly a great coaster to ride for an easier, less intense ride and great for families. It's also pretty smooth. But your right, the queue line is way too long. The Bat is something I hope sticks around at Kings Island.

Think they would / could every put something else back that way? or even a few things? I like the walk, its a nice break while in the parks but maybe if there were other thing/s back that way it would attract more people to that area. Just a thought :)

I'm registered and ready to go for Coaster stock this May. I'm also registered for The Beast tour, but forgot what time I picked. Is there a way to check that on www.visitkingsisland.com/ ?

Unsure, If not i'm sure it'll be on your inteniery you get the day of! I've looked but can't seem to find anywhere it tell me. I picked 3pm, I know but I'm not finding a spot that tells me that. I could just be over looking it though!

  6. I love Cirque! I remember before the first show I saw I was recommended to see it here on the boards (Pretty sure it was by Ms. Magenta Lizard, herself) and they are great! I took my fiancé with me despite his usual dislike of shows and he loved it! Side Not: I'm also excited to see the Back to the 90's show too!

  7. Triotech!! (mainly since they've worked with Cedar Fair on about 3-5 projects)

I was think the same! Kind of hoping actually lol I've never experienced a Triotech ride before, I've heard good and bad. But sometime I hear the bad and it seems like people are being too nit picky about things. This will also be my first GCI and I'm excited to ride these trains I keep hearing so much about!

  8. I don't know. I'm really thinking hard about doing the Saturday portion of CS. That Friday is probably out for me.
So I guess my question is, check in, can you do it anytime after it opens???

When you register it asks you if you'd like to check in on Friday or Saturday, as for what the time windows are I'm not entirely sure

    ^ I got the same e-mail. There must have been a mix-up.
Just reply back with who each ticket should be registered to, and they should be able to check that everything is in order.

I did! I told her I didn't care to register again if they needed me too, but I thought I had previously when I purchased my tickets.

Edit: We are all set and ready now! 3pm Beast Tour! Only 73 more days!

  10. Got an email this morning telling me that I haven't registered 1 or more of my CoasterStock tickets. I register both tickets after I purchased them but I guess I messed something up

I regret not riding The Racer backwards, and I wish I had gotten the chance to ride Phantom Theater. I think the first time I had went to KI--it was already Scooby Doo themed.

I miss it being backwards! I do wish it still was, it made it really fun and different. It was a fun twist on traditional dueling coasters.

  12. So far.... to answer my own question.... Also, not sure if this is 100% accurate but it has come from good sources and I found the same information on other sources.

    - The clearance envelope (the area around you that should be open/free from obstruction) is based on several factors -

        - The Train/Car, the appropriate size of riders, and the reach of the average rider (reach envelope, I've seen it called)

       - They use a scale to determine the average rider, and their reach then add 3 inches to their reach.

       - I don't have the full book but, I found some articles an PDF's of Standards set by ASTM International and it says " 6.6.1 Amusement rides and devices shall be designed to provide a patron clearance envelope adequate to minimize the opportunity for contact between the patron and other objects where said contact is likely to cause injury. " and then goes on to say " 6.6.3 The designer/engineer shall determine the shape and size of the required patron clearance envelope based on the appropriate patron model, the patron reach envelope, and the design of the patron containment system, if any. The minimum patron model shall be based on Dreyfuss Human Scale 4/5/6 (1), 7/8/9 (2), SAE J833, or CDC 95th percentile, with an additional (extended) arm and leg reach of 3 in..." ". These are from the 2015 standards. I couldn't find anything more current.

      - So, if someone is outside of the average then it would make sense if the could or couldn't touch parts of the ride they shouldn't. This may have been the case on Millenium Force like in the previouly posted picture. Now, it got me curious about The Beast conundrum I don't have an answer for that. I have found some speculation about it but not anything significant. Some say it was before the current safety standards so they did it differently, but I can't say one way or another and I'm not going to eve try lol.

SO...... Basically it seems to me that they have a number for the reach of the average rider and then add 3 inches and that the clearance.

Ps. Tell me if I'm wayyyy wrong lol
