  1. Agree with stashua. This community really enhanced my love of coasters when I joined a year and a half or so ago.
  2. I can't get it to play. Plus this is a tease for me since I moved to the Spokane area earlier this month. Off topic but has anyone been to Silverwood in Idaho?
  3. I ate there tonight and it was actually pretty good. Loved the pulled pork and the fried chicken. I got a pretty big piece of breast too. I figured I'd open the container and it would be all dark meat.
  4. Ok so are any of the mazes even remotely scary? My wife and I decided to go out there tonight for a couple hours and walked through slaughterhouse, the one that goes through the white water canyon cue and the one that is inside the old crypt building and none of them were remotely scary. They were extremely short as well. Disappointed but may try and go out again another night to try some of the other ones.
  5. I am confused. The KI app says they are only open 11am to 1pm on Saturdays in October. Is the park really only open two hours???? Edit: this was a few weeks ago that it said that. They have now fixed it to say 1am.
  6. Does anyone who was around when this park was originally built have any idea why they didn't build it out of town? Landlocked in the KFEC is a horrible location.
  7. Agreed. I just wish we could get to a point where hybrid is considered an actual category on its own. I am sure this ride will be extremely fun.
  8. It would be. I'm suggesting paying that for the RIDE. (The excess over fair market value may be considered a tax deduction--Cedar Fair would need to consult its tax advisors. Remember, the park is owned by a charitable trust.)The amount could pay off the creditors and the park could get a fresh start. And quit skimming posts (you missed that the carousel mechanic is working gratis, too.) As long as the market value of the ride is below a certain percentage then the entire "gift" to the charitable organization would be tax deductible. Otherwise only part would be deductible. Much like donation requirements to purchase seats at college athletics are usually about 80% deductible.Actually, your example proves its the opposite. The portion above the fair market value is the contribution--in your example, 80 percent. Even when an item given the donor has only minimal value, its fair market value is still deducted from the amount given the donee. See pledge gifts from public broadcasting--just like your collegiate athletic seats. Cedar Fair still should consult its own tax advisors. Terp, who does...stuff...during the day, for pay, even, such as it is. Basically a person or company should not receive more than 7-10% in value to make their gift tax deductible. Adding to this post that most of my experience comes from working in collegiate athletics development. We have to watch how many gifts we give donors very closely specifically because of them being able to write off their donations.

  10. How in the world does someone overweight cause the line to slow? I am definitely overweight and am on and ready before 95% of the train every single time.
  11. Freedom Hall is not hurting for dates. They get plenty of conventions and other stuff throughout the year. One reason the basketball team needed to relocate because of competition for dates in November especially.

    Planning?

That is crazy that family thought that was ok. On another note, does anyone know how much land is available to expand X-Base? Seems odd to have just the two rides back there and nothing else.

    Day meal pass

My wife and I both have meal plans. But when we eat at Reds HOF grille we usually just split a buffalo chicken salad because it is so big. Nobody has said anything to us.
  14. I actually like this. Dark Rude should be. A broad category with many sub-categories. Same with coasters.
  15. I hate the bright as heck flood lights on the top of the two lift hills for The Beast. I think hat totally takes away from the experience going up the hill.
  16. Solo act again today for the 7pm show. I hope she is ok. Was only disappointed in that it likely is the only time my brother in law and mother in law will visit KI. They live in Washington and don't visit much.
  17. Fellow epileptic here. Good to hear that the meds are helping your son. So many people have no idea what living with the disease is like for the individual and those around them. With the age that he is does he have JME? That is what I was diagnosed with at 15. Just before driving age!
  18. On days when I am at the park alone I definitely want my cell phone. Standing in line and reading KIC helps pass the time.
  19. As I was just waiting in line for Vortex I saw them in the train waiting to unload. I looked back to the midway and saw a security officer. Out of curiosity I walked back to him and asked if they were still looking for the group. He told me he didn't know anything about it. I recapped the story and he followed them a bit before deciding not to act. Really disappointing imo.
  20. I followed them and snuck a picture from behind then sought out security to voice my displeasure. The guy said he would put out word to the other officers and look for them. Who knows if this is actually being done though. A phone to the head at 80 mph is potentially fatal.
  21. Omg... Just got off of Diamondback. I rode the second row left side. The girl in front of me had her phone out the whole time recording the ride. I couldn't even enjoy it as I kept thinking she better not let go. As we get off the crew member just asks her not to do it again. So they saw her and did nothing basically.
  22. Pretty short really. 15-20 minutes was my wait for the front car on The Beast, about 25 for Diamondback.
  23. Great weather and short lines! I just got back to the states yesterday and had to head to the park. Loving this!
