  1. I'm always worried about losing or damaging my phone in the park, but that's how I take pictures. How do you guys safely store your phone? Even a thick case won't protect it from falling out of your pocket on a coaster!
  2. I'm actually pretty happy to hear it's a 4. This sounds like a great coaster that families could ride together in case they have one chicken in the family like mine did (it was me).
  3. Thank you!! I'll have to show these to my sister and see if she recognizes them!
  4. Does anyone have pictures of the Phantom Theater pieces being used in Haunt? I was telling my sister about it because she always goes to Haunt!
  5. Did you know there's a Jellystone Campground in Cave City, Kentucky? You can meet Yogi and everything!

  6. For me, it's where I've began overcoming many of my coaster fears-- and I love the variety of coasters so there's something for semi chickens like myself.
  7. This was a really fun thread to read. Makes me wish there was a book of hidden KI remnants like hidden Mickey's in WDW!
  8. I think DA was a terrible idea. Generally I don't go to a theme park for a dinosaur exhibit unless it's in a ride format. Walk through exhibits like that are often seen as independent attractions or maybe something in a zoo or museum. Also totally agree with the TR building. I have a pet peeve for the amount of space used/saved for Haunt. I'm sure it's a great money maker, but for the majority of a season-- it's sitting empty. I think a lot of my complaints about the park are about theming, and when it's not updated-- I hope to see rides disappear. I don't know a lot about Cedar Fair, but I feel like the park has lost some of the magic since they took over. Do they ever acknowledge guests concerns and explain the changes or lack there of?
  9. I actually didn't know that it interacted with the train and WWC! I can't wait!!
  10. I think if they just cleaned it up some-- that it would make it feel like a completely new coaster. Either strip it of theming or fix it, you know? The old snippets of themes just makes it feel unkept-- which sometimes makes me wonder if the coaster is being updated as much as it should. Not saying that they're NOT being checked-- but the old, forgotten atmosphere can give off that impression.
  11. Do they do anything special for the holiday? Like is there an Easter egg hunt or is the bunny out for pictures?
  12. I absolutely agree that it's generational. I was obsessed with Rugrats in the 90's, so seeing Chuckie and Angelica through the park was very exciting for me.
  13. I think it looks great, but I don't think it can beat The Beast truly for a few years. I think part of The Beast experience is knowing it's a legend.
  14. I regret not going more often when the kids park was all Nickelodeon. I'm still a huge Nick fan, and I prefer it over Snoopy! I wish it was still there!
  15. I didn't even know KI was open on Easter Sunday.
  16. Check out the video posted by BB1, and I think you'll be able to tell from the pictures the original poster used. If you were basing it purely off of theming, I don't think it compares to Universal Orlando.
  17. The issue I have with The Bat's queue line isn't just the distance, it's the feeling that that area isn't upkept. While I appreciate the stars leftover from Top Gun on the bridge, it feels old and needs an update. Plus the random M&M machine always makes me wonder if it's kept stocked and fresh. And if I remember correctly-- I was there in July and saw leftover Haunt stuff sitting out at the front of the line. I just think it feels outdated. Note: I'm griping about things that were there in 2015 when I was last there. If it's been updated since then, I apologize.
  18. I don't think The Bat will go because it's a fairly family friendly coaster. I'm a giant chicken when it comes to the big coasters, so I appreciate smaller ones like The Bat. The queue line to it though is absolutely ridiculous.
  19. Is it fun though? Like I work retail and I have a love hate relationship with the Christmas season because it can be super busy and stressful, but at the end of the year, it feels very rewarding that I survived. lol
  20. I just wish there was more consistent theming throughout the sections of the park. For example, I can't tell that Oktoberfest is anything remotely german-ey. Some of the rides that have theming need to be touched up desperately, like Boo Blasters or Adventure Express. I think Kings Island is really special, and some of the specialness isn't being showcased. Like I saw a picture recently of former paw prints that led to The Beast-- and I thought that was super cool. It's a small touch to showcase an attraction that no one else in the world has.
  21. Anyone here work during Haunt? Is it more fun or more stressful for employees?
  22. That would be wonderful! How were the shops transformed for Winterfest in the past?
  23. I think 2018 season will be quiet actually. Maybe retheming Boo Blasters for a Peanuts expansion in the future. My heart always hopes for TLC on existing attractions before a new coaster. Just fresh coats of paint, updates on some theming (like in Adventure Express and The Bat), stuff like that.
  24. As a store merchandiser, I wonder what has sold better or if it's purely contracts.
