  1. We got to the park at 8pm, ate Skyline from Coney Mall (13 minute wait from stepping into line to getting our food), rode Racer, and left at 9:15. It was definitely busy but the food line moved along much quicker than usual!
  2. That $200 is for two people though, is it not? We will probably do it this year. My 9 year old saw it yesterday and hasn't stopped talking about it!
  3. I've gotten just a veggie bowl at Hanks and it wasn't too bad. The one time I had it with meat, it was inedible. It tasted like someone had dumped an entire salt shaker into my food!
  4. We were on the register closest to the bathrooms. I'm not complaining about the dining plan. We love it and the options at Carowinds and Cedar Point make up for the headaches at KI. That poor girl just shouldn't have been thrown to the wolves just yet.
  5. I said "it doesn't have a magnetic strip. You have to scan it." This was after she told me meal plans were only available on gold passes. She was sweet as can be but totally overwhelmed (and it wasn't busy at 11:20am) and unprepared!
  6. The poor girl in Festhaus Sunday afternoon had no idea what she was doing. She kept trying to swipe my Platinum Pass instead of scanning it...
  7. We would usually do 2 Diamondback rides and get to Banshee before the park opened to the public last year. Can't wait for the May weekdays to ride, ride, ride!
  8. We really look forward to our Sunday family ERT sessions and were sorely disappointed yesterday too. Got to the gate at 9:15 and by the time we made it back to Diamondback, the line was through to Planet Snoopy. We waited about 15 Monte's with nearly no movement and decided to wait for The Beast rope drop instead. Seemed like ERT was nothing more then being a closer walk to Beast for us! And my husband is NOT one to complain about extra perks. He complained about this one!
  9. My daughter saves her quarters all winter to shoot people on WWC. I remember waiting hours to ride it as a kid! While I hope they don't remove it, I think KI's attraction removal will be the old Dino theater. That, along with Dinosaurs Alive opens up huge further expansion area.
  10. We didn't have any Platinum Pass dining issues other then the guy getting confused on how to input a chili cheese sandwiches instead of coney! Otherwise, it was a blast. I missed last year's preview night because I was out of town but my daughter said last night was way more fun. And we didn't see Banshee run a single train. Not a big deal because The Bat at night is pretty awesome.
  11. We had a great time at the park and around 8, there was only a 5 minute wait for food at the Coney Mall Skyline. There was one irate person who ordered mustard on her coney and it was left off. Other then that, perfect night for lots of rides!
  12. I'm thinking more about the people seeing a shorter line and getting into the passholder Lane and not being a passholder. Leaving Chicago last weekend, the EZ pass tolls had zero line but the cash one was 8-10 cars deep. Soooo many non EZ pass people were screwing things up not being in the right lane!
  13. Rock Hill, SC is about 15 minutes from Carowinds and has great prices on Hotels. The Courtyard there is very nice, the Country Inn and Suites not so much. Check and see if there's a minor league baseball game while you're near Charlotte. We hit one up two years ago and it was a blast. We have done Carowinds two years in a row and I was amazed at the small crowd sizes. We did Fridays and Saturdays both times with Max wait times of 10-15 minutes on everything but Nighthawk. Fury was a walk on or station wait at most! Oh, one other motel in Rock Hill that was perfectly clean but no frills is the Super 8. Cookout is right across the street with good but cheap food!
  14. Parking is always free with a stay at Breakers. If you're going in July, the discount for the hotel won't be the full 20%. It's "up to" that. Return is another code that works if you want to try that!
  15. If you decide to stay at Breakers, you'll automatically get early entry. With their discounts and free parking, going to CP on two day tickets will be cheaper then the cost to upgrade to Platinum. The only real benefit would be if there's a Platinum ride night when you go.
  16. Anything I can sing loud enough to embarrass my 9 year old and her friends.
  17. We once went down and got off in London, KY. We cut over East and hooked up with O-81 to I-40W to US 411. It was a very pretty drive, took about 6.5 hours, yet we avoided almost all traffic. It drops you off right into Seiverville.
  18. We usually only do the buy one, get one buckets for ring toss two or three times a year. Sadly, I won on my second throw... We save our quarters all year for Cedar Point's arcade though. THAT is fun!
  19. Still here due to a 9 year old and her love for stuffed animals.
  20. I am the unlucky owner of a giant ring toss prize gorilla. We emptied out the trunk of my Lexus sedan, took out the spare tire, shoved the gorilla's head in the well, and bungied him and the trunk hatch. We proceeded to drive to NKY on 71 at 50mph. Wish I would've abandoned it in the lot but hey, it was a major award.
  21. Firehawk is the only ride in the park to ever make me cry. I'm short so the restraint never feels secure (even though I know it is) and just staring down at the ground is terrifying. I had a similar feeling on an Xtreme Skyflyer at another park. Something about barely being held in, facing the ground scares the crud out of me!
  22. The 8pm close days in May are my full time working husband's favorite days to go. He will leave at 4:30 or so and we will ride everything in the park multiple times in 3 hours AND eat dinner!
  23. When the Bengals lose in the playoffs. Too soon?
  24. Luckily I'm a stay at home parent but my husband works in Blue Ash. He will pop in around 4/5 (or we pick him up on carpool days), have dinner with us, and ride till 8 or 9. It's a long day for him but its something he enjoys. Even working full time, he made 28 visits to KI and 6 to CP!
