  1. How? First rider's event hasn't even happened yet.
  2. It's frustrating, because we go to Gatlinburg every year together, and have since we met. But it looks like that won't be happening this year. This year's trip was scheduled for right when everything really started going south, and we canceled it on 24 hours notice.
  3. Problem there is, you're also not going to find a country where the cases reached a massive peak, dipped way back down, and then exploded even higher than before (as the US has done). It's just not a comparable situation, because nobody's mishandled this virus as bad as the US has.
  4. Not sure if this is directed at me, but I hope not. I'm going on Friday. I feel extremely confident in the rules that are set in place and feel they'll be very effective against transmission, other than the concern I've expressed regarding allowing 1700 people to show up 30 minutes before opening. That's not "spreading fear", that's raising a legitimate concern. Obviously we'll know what will happen soon enough, but I don't really think talking down to people by telling them to "hide and stay home" is the answer.
  5. I mean in fairness, that's also pushing a narrative, because it's a known fact that hospitalizations and deaths are lagging indicators, and show up 3-4 weeks after the new cases start.
  6. This is honestly how I feel. We are EXTREMELY cautious and have not done many things since the pandemic started that we would normally do, but I feel relatively safe going to KI (although I'm still very, very concerned about the whole "everyone arriving at 10:30 and flooding the area by the gate" situation).
  7. It's one per group, so that should be all - however, you'll have to fill it out within 24 hours of your visit. So right now would be too soon to do so.
  8. No. The pandemic doesn't care what month it is.
  9. Is there a way to tell what each place will have as an option for the meal plan, in terms of the app or whatever? No kids, so that's not too much of a big deal for us. The other things seem like technicalities. We're really only considering it because of 2021 being included as well (we planned to hit 4 different parks this year, but obviously that's going to be pushed off to 2021 now).
  10. So I'm considering getting the Platinum food plan to go with our Platinum passes, since it'd be good for both 2020 and 2021 and since we're going to CP on the 13th. Can I get a brief summary of how it works from someone that's used it? Are there any restaurants that are exempt, how do I order, are there any certain things I need to know, etc?
  11. I mean, it's a pandemic. Things are going to be different this season.
  12. Staggered seating would allow for more riders, right?
  13. I think it'll be much longer for Orion after noon. At least on the first few days - after that, attendance is looking pretty sparse. Same for Cedar Point, though...after the first couple of days, nobody's going, it looks like.
  14. For those interested, Cedar Point is now live as well.
  15. It's 1,750 for those slots, isn't it? Either way, it's absolutely a recipe for disaster. It makes very little sense to do it this way.
  16. Yeah that pretty much defeats the purpose. Please don't encourage that.
  17. I would've thought this too, but this indicates otherwise:
  18. The screenshot above is an update to that policy, though.
  19. Right, that's all true - but what happens after the people go through the temperature checks? They're stuck at the front gate waiting...piling up. That's my concern.
  20. "Relative safety of outdoors" doesn't account for 1700 people crammed in like sardines waiting for the turnstiles to open up. I feel as though, with masks/social distancing, KI will be relatively safe. But how do you social distance when you're having 1700 people arrive before the park even opens? Initially I figured oh, they'll let people go in as they get there, maybe get in queues while waiting for the park to open - but that's not the case. So I don't see a "safe" method of doing the plan they've laid out? Surely I can't be the only one thinking this.
  21. Am I the only one nervous about 1700 people piling in at 10:30 waiting for the park to open? I haven't seen any reference at all as to how they're going to manage that crowd, or distance that many people in line waiting for opening.
  22. Okay. May want to get some better science sources, then, because this data isn't accurate, and doesn't reflect the daily totals. Editing to clarify that the graph believe is accurate as of Friday's data - today was a lower number than Friday.
