  1. That's the Monterey Bay Aquarium, in Monterey, California. I actually had the pleasure of getting paid to live in Monterey for a while, and the aquarium makes the one in Newport look like a few fish tanks at a pet store. On a side note, this wont be the first great white to be housed in the aquarium. While I was living out there, they had one for a record 198 days. Previously, 16 days was the longest a great white had ever been in captivity. They had to release it, because it started to hunt and kill the other fish it was with.
  2. I waited 6 hours for Flight of Fear once...got all the way into the saucer, and it broke down. They told us it would not be operating the rest of the day. I was slightly upset...
  3. Well, I'm in a few of them...picture 17 is the closest one. I was in the section in front of the power stacks, 2nd row from the field, 10th seat from the left...grey shirt, red hat
  4. Bill...I'm in one of your opening day pictures...
  5. Hey Beastfan11....PM me with your e-mail address if you can...a friend of mine is alwo thinking about opening a small haunted house. and he got an e-mail from the state fire marshall that I think you should read
  6. Don't get your panties in a twist man...I'm just looking out for you, making sure you dont get in trouble... Oh, by the way...I don't know what fire marshall you talked to, but this comes directly from the State Fire Marshall's office..."The fire code official would need to evaluate the situation with respect to use and occupancy classifications, change of use and occupancy, fire protection, means of egress, occupant load, fire detection and alarm notification, combustibility of decorative materials, exit lights, emergency lighting, and emergency procedures." Like I said...I was just looking out for you...But, I really do wish you the best on your haunted house...from the way it sounds, you're going to have yourself a kick a...uh...can i say that word here anymore? Well, you know what I mean...have fun and be safe man!
  7. OK...but before you do all this work, you might want to call your local fire marshal and get the necessary permits...
  8. Are you going to have this haunted house open to the public? If so, I really hope you have all the necessary permits to run it
  9. The ground breaking will be on Aug 18th
  10. I'd really hate to close this topic, so let's keep it on topic, and talk about the actual trip report...not have a ****ing contest on here.
  11. Awww...the video doesn't show me loading a handful of gravel into Dane's pocket...
  12. I have a few cool older items from the park. I have an old school Vortex t-shirt which some of you have seen, I have an ash tray from when the park frist opened, and I have a cool plate from the earlier years of the park.
  13. I agree. We're all sad because the Eagles left, but they are gone now, and they aren't coming back. This thread has been done way too many times...closed...

  15. It actually looks more like maiden grass. It's in the same family as pampus grass, but pampus grass grows to between 6 and 8 feet tall.
  16. Hey, the sign said 4 to 5 people to a boat...they never said how big the people could be..
  17. Im gonna have to say it isnt true...based simply on the fact that the movie wasn't announced until April of this year.
  18. Ive read a few atricles saying War of the Worlds will be the most expensive...but all of them also have a lower number than the new Harry Potter movie...so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I also found out that neither Spielberg nor Cruise are getting any money up front. Instead they're both getting 20% of the box office...in other words...it's going to be a nice pay day for both of them
  19. Titanic only cost $200,000,000 to make. sources: http://www.hpana.com/news.cfm?nid=17828 http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/news/content_o...-name_page.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/tv_film/...000/3412663.stm http://www.countingdown.com/movies/2626764...item_id=3338778 http://www.mail-archive.com/sndbox@sandbox...t/msg20465.html to name a few...
  20. Heh...I hope you didn't mean to say "War of the Worlds" is a new movie...and that you meant it's a remake directed by Spielberg. I dont want to sound mean or anything, but I think you mean 120 million british pounds. As it stands right now, 35 movies have cost $120,000,000 or more to make. Also, The new Harry Potter movie is supposed to cost more. The film, which starts production in April, will cost an estimated $315 million. That's $10 million more than the entire Lord of the Rings series. 120 million pounds is roughly $222 mill. Kind of an interesting side note...In terms of real costs adjusted for inflation, the most expensive movie ever made was Cleopatra, a Paramount movie, whose $44 million budget would be equivalent to $306,867,120 today. and thus...once again...proving that I have NNNOOOOOOOO life!!!
  21. As you might have all noticed...PKIU is under new management. This means that name calling, or the bashing of other people's opinions will NOT be tolerated. If you disagree with something someone has said, politely interject...there is no need for name calling. Every one has the right to their own opinion. Now, keep it clean, on topic, and above all...have a nice day!
  22. pki_rulz calm down...every one here has the right to their own opinion, so don bash people or tell them they are dumb for starting their opinion. Stop the name calling too. I'm only going to warn you about it once. Also you are not the
