  1. Just because it's ok by law still doesn't mean it's ethically right. Sure let's put kids at the bar where me and a few friends decide to throw back a few Pale Ales and enjoy the evening hours of the park. Kids have no place there, its where alcohol is consumed, it looks trashy.Needless to say after 15 minutes of no greeting, water, menus, or even acknowledgement of my presence, we decided to leave. Especially after seeing more terrible beer pours. I'm not asking for IPAs in Tulip glasses. Just pour my draft so I can actually enjoy the glass and not four fingers of wasted foam. I took my money and business to Panda Express. Let a third party that generally has done things well all year have my money. I clearly can't let the park competently serve me at this point.
  2. This should not happen at a bar...ANYWHERE!! Here I am wanting bar seating to watch the Tennis Tourney and have a beer. Half the bar is underage kids and families. Also may walk out, these kids can't even pour a beer right. Half a glass of foam? Really??
  3. If he's the one that's done catered events.. How do you serve rock hard dinner rolls. I'd love to use them as whiffle balls at some point.
  4. No need to send a response, my lack of meal plan renewal will be enough if this is the case.
  5. I'm using my meal plan and milking it for all it's worth this year for sure. I will say this, unless the shortfalls are noted, realized, and mitigated for 2016, I will not be buying a dining plan, and will give my money to outside establishments that can serve quality food in a timely manner or relax in the parking lot with a sandwich with cold cuts I made at home. I never was asking for fine dining, exquisite food, I know the parks don't have that and don't supply it. However, when you overcook rice and undercook chicken in the same day, it's pretty pathetic. Where's Gordon Ramsay when you really need him.
  6. My biggest gripes this season with food Inconsistent service. I've had stellar, and ****ty all in the same day or weekend. Inconsistent food quality. Hanks has been great some days, and junk others. SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW. How is it Chipotle can knock out a line of 50 in no time, but a line of 5 at Hanks or LaRosas is snail pace. Keep that machine rolling. I would bet it's a staffing issue Why many places aren't open on 10 is beyond me. Cedar Point, the majority of food opens at 10 with the exception of a few places, mainly sit down restaurants. International Street has no excuse Foods is for sure the worst area in the park now. I thought operations the last year or so had gone downhill, but foods are Kinzel era bad honestly. People gatta eat, so who cares. Seriously some of these kids I've seen shoveling food, wiping sweat off their face, and then grabbing the next plate of pizza to place forward need to go. The lack of care or attention to the company cornerstones is quite appalling. The biggest issue for me though is inconsistency. I've had great bowls from Hanks. Honestly excellent, large nice Chipotle esque portions of tasty rice, meat, and select toppings. Then sometimes I get a childs fistful sized portion only and have nothing but rubber chicken, dried rice, and crappy almost crunchy cheese. The quality control and attention to detail are extremely disappointing. For KI to have hired a head chef, revamped the food departments, and now part of a more broad corporate atmosphere to bring quality products and services to the chains food service, I have yet to really see an improvement other than a dining plan. The rest is honestly rubbish, and clearly it shows as I'm not the only one who has noticed. Quite sad. Profits are up, my dividends show it, but I ask at what cost now currently.
  7. Valid complaints for sure, but complaining here on KIC will eventually reach management in other ways over time. I'd suggest contacting the park directly to voice your concerns and how the park was unable to provide you with a best day experience. The park strives to make sure it meets this mark on all fronts, and if not met will make sure to correct the issue.
  8. As someone I know always has famously said: Respect the Rides, they do not respect you.
  9. How tragic and shocking. Noone goes to an amusement park expecting to lose their life or face any major catastrophe. What this person did really wasn't a wise decision, however right now criticism isn't needed at this time. Right now thoughts need to be with the family and friends of the life lost today, and anyone who had to see, endure, or work this accident. Think of the ride ops who had to potentially shut down a ride of screaming people, and maybe wash blood off of a train. The EMS responding even though trained and prepared for these terrible scenarios also probably just had an extremely rough day. My thoughts go out to all afflicted. We go to amusement parks like Cedar Point to create memories with those close to us, not endure lifelong consequences and trauma.
  10. I expect the prices go increase...maybe dramatically, or possibly the route of boiling frog syndrome
  11. Drop Tower at night gives an impressive view anywhere, especially Banshee. Eiffel Tower is ok, but the bars do limit the view a tad. Racer honestly is my favorite night ride. Classic midway to your right, enjoyable ride, and just has that classic nostalgia atmosphere with it. For thrills Skyflyer at night is superb in terms of thrills though.
  12. I look at it this way: Who cares. It's not my worry if a business outside of Kings Island doesn't make as much money due to more guests choosing to spend money in the park on goods and services there. If they feel a hit, they need to find a way to try and recapture lost customers. Before it was easy, crappy food, high prices, it was a no brainer to not go up the street to McDonalds or Chipotle. Now that I can spend a bit over $100 for the whole season for food, deal with less than stellar service, and stay in the park, it does what it's supposed to do. Unless someone has a deal or reason to take me outside of the park to eat I won't. Currently the biggest drive for me to eat and drink outside of the park is the lack of competent full service bars. The specialty "craft" brews KI had created for them are a joke. I'll go up the street to enjoy a proper IPA or Stout.
