  1. ^^ I think I heard somewhere that the renovations were being done in house. Other then that the IOE thing was the only thing I have seen that could be connected to Hurler.
  2. IMO Night rides will always belong to The Beast, unless this coaster is truly amazing. Banshee is fantastic at night but it still doesn't compare to flying through the woods on that out of control monster.
  3. Like I said "Big Bad Wolf" would have been awesome and made sense, if it wasn't already a coaster from Busch (even though it is defunct). I am getting a mythical creature vibe from the countdown background and the fact they keep using the work "lurking" to promote it.
  4. I really do like the name Splintercat but the ax throws me off, it could obviously just be a nod to a wooden coaster but I think it is more then that. Another name I would love to see again would be "Big Bad Wolf", It was traditionally in a mythical forest and killed by a woodcutter with his ax, but I doubt we will see that name get used again.
  5. Centurion has been trademarked on and off for at least 5 years. Centurion doesn't really fit the hints or the area, we are either looking for some mythical beast, logger, or wood name imo.
  6. The Axe did have something on it that resembled hair/fur or vines. I honestly have no clue what this theme will be, which is a nice surprise considering we knew the Valravn name for months in advance.
  7. I mean Renegade is the name of the GCI woodie CF built at Valleyfair. Also that doesn't really match the hints of wood either.
  8. Also no trademarks have been filed under CF yet. I think this is actually going to be themed to the wood itself as a lot of the hints sent to the media are based around logging or wood.
  9. Rob has done some great work, even Valravn is a good ride. I am very excited to see what project 2017 is, even though I won't have time to get to see the announcement in person.
  10. I don't think people have a problem with the supports being steel, it is the fact that the wheels BARELY touch the wood. This is a picture of Topper track (seen on the left) . My problem is just how much steel there is involved with the topper track. If it was a thin layer connecting the 2 pieces of a standard wood track then I would be fine, but the track is made of thick cut steel, thus making me consider them hybrids over wood.
  11. ^^ He isn't wrong if his opinion is that RMC doesn't make wood coasters. While they are classified as "wood", a lot of people think of them as hybrids or steel coasters.
  12. The pictures are posted by Dan Glauser. https://twitter.com/GlauserDan13/status/754696397505560576 for the Diamondback tree removal and https://twitter.com/GlauserDan13/status/754697029847281665 for the bridge tweet. Personally am thinking that these have nothing to do with Project 2017 or at least the coaster part of it.
  13. https://twitter.com/KICentral/status/754483800814522368 for the tweet about the gap. So lets say these beams are for the structure, wouldn't the gap need to be larger for an effective stall?
  14. I have heard great things about these rides and think it will certainly be a good investment for the park.
  15. ^ I'm not going to hate, I will just say NO. While I liked SOB, the layout was not very innovative except for the loop. I would much rather have a larger GCI like Viper then remake SOB. RMC has also said they will not do vertical loops, so there is no way that it would return with its old layout.
  16. ^ Simple it was falling apart and hurting people. When you can pull pieces off without equipment it is time to fix, which would cost a ton, or tear it down.
  17. I don't know if it is too large of a stretch for a wing coaster, but you do have to keep in mind there is Thunderbird already in the area so that isn't really too new to people in the Indiana area.
  18. Lets just wait until the PR team gives us another tweet or instagram post to "stir the pot", demanding usually does nothing but sour a persons attitude.
  19. That being said Banshee was built on previously cleared land so it cut out the clearing part of the construction, which is where we are now.
  20. I feel like the first drop might be right next to the WWC que, sort of how Banshee has the loop right next to Action Zone. This would gain the attention of people in Rivertown while still being able to keep most of it hidden in the woods. Overall I think a coaster is just one piece of the puzzle, I think we will see quite a revival of the Rivertown area.
  21. Is it possible that those beams are a part of updating the train experience? They have been mentioning that the train will be a new experience next year.
  22. I think I was either in the train before or train after you on closing day 2014. I still remember all the people standing at the exit ready to celebrate 2 million riders, it was pretty awesome. Banshee is my #1 invert and in my top 5 coasters with the likes of Maverick and Fury 325, So IMO it was very much so worth the investment. Also for anyone getting their hopes up about a gate coaster, Mr. Ouimet has said that the Kings parks will see no roller coasters for their front entrances.
  23. I think he is just speculating at this point. He is also dead set that the I-beams are for the actual ride, and that it will be a RMC. I am almost certain that the beams are for a retaining wall and in no way are footers.
  24. Fair enough. I did just join the forum yesterday. haha! What did everybody on here say as far as KI needing a transition type coaster? I mean this thread is 233 pages long! But after the video was posted some were happy and supported the ideas, others were against them and are preaching RMC only. Generally I think most people took it as more info and research, then a "this is what we should be getting". I think most people will be happy with what we get, even if it is a "transition" coaster. Of course, there will always be some that are dissapointed.
