  1. Outpost 5 is the location of where the guy was mauled to death by the lion. Well, it was the closest guard station and mentioned( by name) in the incident report. Check out the maps in the thread about the lion attack and you'll see detailed maps and how close Outpost 5 was. Imo, this was a tasteless joke who's actual meaning has been lost over time. For reference, SOB was located on the spot where the wildlife Safari adventure once stood. The wildlife Safari is where the "trainer" was eaten alive by the lions. Thus making the direct connection to Outpost 5, explaining why it's not used anymore and why you should fear it. Adventure Express was the first to mention it and also sits near the old lot where WSA was located. A "in-house" horror story, so to speak. Lets tie Banshee into it all. Now we have a ghost out there haunting the grounds where SOB stood. Yes, a Banshee is a female spirit but the theme is still about a ghost. It's like a billboard for flight Commander in the antique car ride that says "you'll fall for these thrills!" Most people wouldn't get the connection.

  2. The only thing I wish CF/KI would do that Paramount did was repaint the coasters/rides every other year. Without it, the rides look more carnival grade than "world-class". There could be a reason to it but if not, they should consider doing it again. It kept the park looking fresh and new, year after year.

  3. I-spy a bobcat, flatbed truck, and a dump truck. All working near the old S.O.B station. My first thought was they're being used for the Winterfest teardown but why the bobcat? Am I crazy or is there some grading happening next to the dark maze building? ( Bobcat is in between the two trucks near The Bat exit) Does anyone know what's officially going on here?

I thought board to death was a haunt attraction, ave this were the years it existed. I don't think there is any link to its placement near the ceremony... Other than perhaps it is more recent than some of the other tombstone references.

Very true. I forgot about that.

SOB was demolished in November of 2012. "Board to death" since then, would be a point in favor of those arguing the SOB revival theory. All the Outpost 5 links are a dead giveaway but its fun watching the crowd lean towards the removal of Firehawk. Who knows? It could be both. I'll go ahead and say this will probably be an announcement for a SOB revival.

I'll guess REVENGE OF BEAST as it's title. Or The Beastie for old times sake.

  6. Am I the only one who noticed all the clearing going on behind Banshee?

Maybe KI is going to get a 1-2 punch and we'll get one of these 4 coasters mentioned? It's a far stretch, I know. Just speculating. Here is why my mind is humoring the idea.

I could see them expanding the park out behind Banshee. The land is already cleared out from the old animal habitat/SOB and would be a perfect location for either a giga or strata coaster. Maybe even a T-Rex similar to the one possibly going in at KBF? Throw in a few flat rides and create a new midway that will eventually connec to X-Base.

At first, I thought maybe a new launch area for the fireworks. I scratched that idea because it would be a huge liability being so close to GWL, parking lot, highway, ECT..

It could be Nothing or something awesome. I've just noticed the clearing doubling in size since my last visit.

If it is for an expantion, I would guess CF will put something big out there to lure the crowds. It's hard to see people hiking all that way just to ride a single flat ride.

    Thoughts?

(I apologize if this is already a topic and I'm late to the party.)

  7. Anyone else pick up on the fact that Kings Island currently has 14 coasters making MT the 15th coaster. Don stated that MT would be our 16th coaster. Unless they are counting both racers, we could see another coaster Announcement for 2017. If MT only costs 4-10 million we could see another coaster with their 15 million cap. I'm not exactly sure what their cap is but figuring this with recent years. I also find it odd that they didn't release the cost of MT and think it might be kept a secret until the second attraction is announced.

  9. Mystic Timbers won't come close to the area with the fence put up in April that was cleared and had the teaser signs. Antique cars would fit nicely because of the kids area right there, plus the retaining wall would help make that area flat. Only problem is the train.

That area is where the MT station and queue will be. MT will cross above the train both entering and exiting the station.

    Keep those eyes peeled!

  10. This will be a perfect transitioning coaster. I was 99% sure it was going to be an RMC but understand why they went with GCI. It wouldn't be right to throw another extreme coaster directly next to PS. I know that Diamondback is practically inside PS but another over the top coaster would seem a bit much. Maybe the name will grow on me(pun intended) but seems kind of "drawn out of a hat." You already know that I'll be a first rider. Looking forward to those other announcements!

I also had the chance to meet a few of you, Zayzayd13 and BeautyandTheBeast to be specific. It was nice to experience tonight with fellow friends from kic.

This seems unsatisfying to me. On more than one occasion, many of us tried to explain to the community here that, despite presenting himself as such, GavPenn was not an insider. (And GavPenn, you must admit – you did WAY more than just speculate and guess and have fun with us. You 100% purported yourself as an insider. "...I'll give you a hint..." "...that's all I'll say..." "You'll see..." "Just wait until the announcement..." etc. etc.) Every time you popped into this thread, it was as a know-it-all lording his inside information over us, "gifting" us with little hints and tips about what the answer was. We told you then that little coy "winks" presented as if you knew the answer were NOT cute, constructive, or fun, and warned your "followers" to be wary, and you literally just kept on going with 100% confidence that you knew and we didn't.

Now, those who trusted you (because you purported to be "in the know" and to have some access the rest of us don't), your "followers," are not renewing passes. You convinced them to anticipate something that many of us knew was not coming and crafted yourself into an insider who they could trust (never mind that, if you actually HAD known the answer, you would've been ruining the anticipation and fun for many of us by strutting around dropping hints). But you were wrong! After all that, you weren't even the insider you thought you were.

    Sigh.

I will "un-ignore" your posts now and let's carry on. I hope we ALL learn a lesson from this – the same one we've been repeating for ever: those who know don't say, and those who say don't know.

I NEVER claimed to know everything. In fact I stated that I DID NOT know it all many times. It was people like yourself who used the terms "know it All." I said that my version of the layout was in more detail than what was leaked. I'm still in shock over the fact that I won't get the chance to hang upside down over WWC. I'm not the only one surprised at the announcement. You could literally hear a pin drop after the announcement. We were all like, wtf. Its not like KI to hype something mild-ish like they did.

I also do not stand in the way of people's decision to purchase a season pass. Its ludicrous to put me on such a high pedestal.

Here are a few things I was correct about BEFORE any leaks...

The exact spot in which the coaster would be.

The amount of times it crosses WWC.

The fact that it wouldn't go under the train bridge.

    That RFYLCB wouldn't be removed.

No interaction with Diamondback and the box.

    No teardrop loops.

That it would cross over the reservoir and not under it.

The railroad wouldn't be rerouted or altered.

Also the basic fact that it was a coaster BEFORE the layout was leaked, when people were insisting it was a relocation of DA, antique cars, etc..

Here is a list of what I was DEAD WRONG about...

    The manufacturer.

    Amount of inversions.

    The name.

The list speaks for itself. I might not of had ALL the answers but in all fairness I should still receive some credibility. I never deliberately lied or spoke in a Know it all fashion. I was just under the trance of KI's history to build bigger, better, faster.

Not to mention, who would have thought they would stick a mild coaster in between two of their biggest coasters? All signs pointed to RMC but the reality of GCI must settle in.
