  1. They need to get the equipment to the build site. Making this access road will allow trucks to easily enter the site through the gate/road on the opposite side of the train track just before the new wall site.
  2. I personally agree with you. I just like to post in a more broader aspect and include others.
  3. It could be for fencing between the coaster and the train. Not necessarily at the station but on the back half of the ride. They have to keep people and deer off the tracks and I think it would look more rustic with a wooden fence rather than chain link. This part of the park has been in serious need of a revamp. This new coaster is putting rivertown in the spotlight. I think we might see a possible recreation of the wild west, once again on the train ride. Complete with cowboys, Indians, horses and maybe even an attack scene at the(newly refurbished) fort. Throw in some pyrotechnics and you will have every train packed. Night rides on the train could become a new family tradition!
  4. Anyone else getting a MJ THRILLER vibe from a few teaser posts? Popcorn... Wolf knocking down trees.. Maybe John Landis will speak at the announcement!
  5. I'm still going with the name "Fenrir" for this coaster. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenrir
  6. KI has only used 1/2 of their property. With Gatekeeper partially built in the parking lot, looks to me as if they are near capacity. Not 100 % full but close to it. KI and CP were rivals for a long time. Since they became step siblings,KI has been a few steps behind. Sandusky isn't mason and I know the higher need to draw crowds to CP. I don't blame them. I'm just looking forward to the day KI gets to ride shotgun!
  7. CP is also running out of real estate. Someday soon KI will become CF's crown jewel.
  8. Looks to me like a bunch of spots to look over the fence or a rustic spot to view the announcement.
  9. Banshee seems to raise quite a few eyebrows with its loop....Also, do we still yawn at a lift hill drop? Since that has been accomplished. lol Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk I think you missed the point.
  10. As much as I enjoy a good loop, I believe in this day and age, loops will be only for steel coasters. Not saying its impossible but a loop is more of a played out element. In a world of inovation and need for bigger, brighter, better, we tend to yawn at things that have already been accomplished. In 2000, a looping wooden coaster was cutting edge. Today a single looping woodie would hardly raise an eyebrow. If the screamin demon was still around the wait time would be nonexistent in the shadow of Vortex. That being said, I also really enjoyed SOB and loved its loop. I miss it and hope one day KI will obtain a wooden hyper once again!
  11. Upon review I see my numbers were way off. The number to beat is 3. Lol. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_roller_coaster_rankings
  12. You got me there! I was referring to the most inversions on a RMC steel frame wooden topper track thingy.
  13. I'm almost 100% sure. I think if it were to be a GCI we would see supports throughout the entire ride. Not just in the beginning and end. Not to mention that KI rarely builds attractions that aren't cutting edge. RMC is one of the most advanced coaster companies to date and to me, a GCI would be a step back. Barrel rolls and inversions over sections of WWC would be more enticing for coaster enthusiasts than simple bunny hills and the occasional banked turn. The location of this coaster has potential to be one-of-a-kind if they choose RMC. I imagine walking near the train station and seeing the first drop of this massive wooden coaster. Thats all we will see of it from the rivertown midway. The first drop is like storm chaser with an even bigger barrel roll that sends the riders deep into the woods. It'll disappear into the deep. Kind of a cool visual in my mind. You will have no idea what lurks beyond the first hill and that will create a heightened sense of fear/thrill for the rider. It might be a short ride but its going to pack a punch. I'm not saying that it's going to be the tallest and fastest but they might pull off the record for most inversions on a wooden coaster. I believe the number to beat is 7 and from the layout I can see at least 8 possible inversions.
  14. Since there are some newbies in here, I wanted to bring this up again.
  15. Looks like an announcement date will be posted real soon! Its almost time to place the footers. I'd say since the clearing is almost complete we should see footers within the next week or two.
  16. **Using Gavpenn's description** Just a friendly reminder. KingsIsland1972 was very spot on with the layout too!
  17. It looks to me like they are building an access road for the new coaster. Seems like the shortest distance for them to haul the materials from the parking lot to the site. Also, they look to be widening the road near DB for the same reason.
  18. Sorry for being off topic. This is great! I'm dying over here.
  19. I kind of like the name "Fenrir" for the coaster. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenrir There is a little more digging before its all revealed. This month will be a great deal of fun!
  20. I thought it was pure silly fun. *sudden ban on cutlery in CF parks* Hand-held foods only!
  21. I think you nailed it! Very good work! Now, I'm wondering if the stuffed bear that was strategically placed on The Beast was actually a lion. Didn't someone mention a scarecrow being placed in the construction area? I know there were scarecrow for Banshee but I think someone said they spotted one near project 2017. Kings Island isn't messy. They wouldn't leave a row boat lying around unless it was a clue.
