Paramount's Kings Islandâ„¢ Honors Sept. 11 Heroes With Heartwarming Free Event

Free event Friday, features local firefighters, safety exhibits and the multi media presentation, “Madame Tussauds New York: Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11â€Â

Admission to Paramount's Kings Island is free on Sept. 10 and includes the Paramount Theatre and International Street section of the park along with a selection of park restaurants. Please note that park rides, games and attractions will not operate during this special free event.

On Friday, September 10, Paramount's Kings Island opens its gates for free admission from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to honor the heroes that emerged from the tragic events of 9/11. This special, one-day event features the moving exhibit, “Madame Tussauds New York: Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11,†as well as, safety presentations, exhibits, and discussions from local fire and police departments.

Highlights include a 20-minute tribute in the Paramount Theatre every 45 minutes throughout the day beginning at 10:30a.m., the University of Cincinnati Air Care helicopter and Skydiver, Paul McCowan jumping, with an American Flag in the parking lot. A variety of police and fire departments will also be on hand to answer questions and provide safety information. Registration is not required.

“Madame Tussauds New York: Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11†is a heartfelt, multi-media exhibit that features a lifelike wax re-creation of the famous photograph of three New York firefighters raising the American flag out of the World Trade Center rubble on September 11. In addition to the figures, the exhibit includes photographs of uniformed service personnel and victim’s families, as well as inspiring quotes all choreographed to music. The multi media exhibit will be shown several times throughout the day on September 10.

If guests are unable to attend this special free event, the “Madame Tussauds New York: Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11†exhibit is included with park admission and runs August 28 through October 31, 2004 during park operating days.
