Paramount's Kings Islandâ„¢ Unleashes New Horrors for Fifth Annual FearFestâ„¢

The Midwest's largest Halloween event offers even more fun by day and fright by night. Free with park admission every Saturday and Sunday in October beginning Oct. 2.

Paramount's Kings Island transforms into something sinister this autumn as it celebrates FearFest, the Midwest's largest haunted event. In addition to three new bone-chilling, haunted attractions and two new frightfully fun attractions especially for children, the park itself has undergone a Halloween makeover that will keep you looking over your shoulder and wondering what is lurking in the shadows.

Beginning October 2 and running every Saturday and Sunday in October, FearFest will feature eight horrifying attractions for ghouls 12 and older. A wide variety of splendidly spooktacular activities will also delight those children who prefer their haunts during the daylight hours.

This hauntingly exciting event is included with park admission and free to season pass holders. Prepare to enjoy fun by day…..and fright by night!

FearFest grips the park each day from 10 a.m. to park close. New children's activities begin at 11 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. Several terrifying indoor attractions open as early as 3 p.m. Shrieks of both excitement and horror will echo throughout the park from Nickelodeonâ„¢ Central to Action ZoneTM through Coney "Maul" and down to Rivertown, including:

FRIGHT BY NIGHT:

Sleepy Hollow Horror: - Located in Rivertown behind International Showplace - Welcome to the late 1700s and the eerie town of Sleepy Hollow. As you sneak your way through the dilapidated colonial farmhouse, proceed with caution. There are rumors that the Headless Horseman has dismounted from his horse and slipped into the home…Is he lurking in the shadows, stalking your every move? One head, two head, three head, four. The secrets of the Horseman lay behind the front door… Open 7 p.m. to close.

Friday the 13th: - Located in the Paramount Theatre -The bloody legend of Camp Crystal Lake comes to FearFest in this horrific multi-sensory homage to the Paramount Pictures blockbuster slasher saga , Friday the 13th. Watch the indestructible psycho, Jason Voorhees, slice, dice and slaughter his way through hapless victims. Guests will relish this gore fest as the diabolical killer wreaks havoc and splatters blood all across the big screen AND the guests in Paramount Theatre. Narrated by one of Jason's unlucky victims, this 13-minute bloodbath will make guests screech and shrill in their seats. PLEASE BYOBB (Bring Your Own Barf Bag!). Warning: This attraction contains scenes and effects that can be described as gory and violent. The movie is not recommended for young children or guests who are sensitive to horror movie images. See park map for show times.

FRIGHT BY NIGHT:

Curse of the Crypt: - Located behind Coney "Maul" games, near Flight of Fear - Guests will begin a claustrophobic trek through cobwebbed catacombs only to find a mummy back from the dead and in search of revenge. As you run through the seemingly endless hallways, you'll dodge not only mummies in search of your soul, but vampires, werewolves and other terrifying creatures in search of victims for permanent preservation. Open 3 p.m. till close.

House of Darkness: - Located in Coney "Maul" next to the Scrambler - A traditional gothic haunted house patterned after a once opulent Victorian manor beckons. Even though the mansion is in ruin, the rumors of strange inhabitants persist. With a devilish wink and foreboding laugh, a hooded figure ushers you into this foreboding gothic castle. Creeping through the corridors, guests enter one terrifying room after another. Doors within this home of the undead open and shut at random. There is no turning back from the frightening adventure that lies ahead. Open 3 p.m. till close.

Circus of Horrors: - Located in the Festhaus - This one-of-a-kind 3-D nightmare brings the circus to town. However, after looking through the dusty glass window of the ticket booth, it becomes obvious that this is not your run-of-the-mill Big Top. A house of mirrors challenges your sense of direction, while 3-D images test your sense of reality. Only the most determined will make it out alive. Open 7 p.m. till close.

Maze of Madness: - Located to the right of Flight of Fear - As the sound of footsteps echo through the park, guests draw nearer to the asylum known as The Maze of Madness. Chain link and mirrors make up this challenging, institutional maze. The very sight of its rusting, iron-hinged entrance will make your stomach knot as you peer through the cracked entry portal. Don't be surprised if you never find your way out. Fear not; someone…or something is sure to find you. Open 3 p.m. till close.

PsychoPath: - Located in the woods behind Flight of Fear - Night has fallen on an old trail leading into the woods. Trudging down this darkened path overgrown with weeds and trees, guests move helplessly into the heart of darkness where they confront hideous creatures lurking in the shadows. Zombies in advanced stages of decay arise from the bowels of the earth to wander mindlessly along the trail in search of new life. Loud, frantic screams fill the air leading to a place where nightmares are born. Will you make it out alive? Or will you become part of the PsychoPath? Open 8 p.m. till close.

In addition to all the horrific haunted attractions, those looking for a different kind of thrill can test their bravery on the most terrifying rides on the planet. Most of Paramount's Kings Island's heart-stopping, take-your-breath-away thrill rides will be in operation throughout FearFest. (Please note that Hanna-Barbera Land and Nickelodeon Central will close at 7 p.m.)

Because the evening attractions in FearFest are designed to be frightening, we ask that guests do not come in costume.
