Food and Drinks at KI

I went to the park on Friday evening w/my two kids ages 7 and 4 and a friends 7 yr old. We ate before we came so all we needed was water. Oh, by the way I did bring in little Oreo Cookies that they got from Gold Star w/their Kids' Meals and security didn't even look in my bag, just waved me on by. Well, my friends daughter really wanted a bottle of pop. I gave her her $1 left over from dinner and told her to go to the Funnel Cake Window, on International Street, and ask how much a bottle of pop was. She went up and asked and came back w/a water b/c it was free. A lady in line to get funnel cakes remarked that she didn't know water was free. I said of course it is.

Unless, of course, you get bottled water, which is not. And not all stands have the free water...some do, some do not. If all they have is bottled products or Icee's, they generally do not have the free water.

I've noticed that most of the permanent food establishments offer free water, however the carts typically do not. There are of course a few exceptions.

Heck yeah! It'll only be water for Steve. The regular drinks BTW are $3.49 posted. Pretty steep. Vending machines are $3.50 I belive and energy drinks are $4.00. Crazy! But soft drinks are the #1 worst thing for you as confirmed by many nutritionists so avoid them like the plague!

I actually severely slowed my soda consumption so I don't buy much at KI. I always have to keep in mind that it actually doesn't hydrate me. That helps me to not buy soda at KI. Even though a Coke in Festhaus' AC would be nice. I still pay an arm and a leg for a bottle of water. Which is pretty stupid considering I could get a free water.
