This Sunday, June 29th, many adoring fans will have the rare chance to meet some of their favorite stars from the hit daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless at the Joyce Becker Soap Opera Festival! "Everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions for an hour." said Joyce Becker in an interview with KICentral, "People have asked questions from the weird to the sublime. Everything from questions about the scripts of the shows to whether the men wear boxers or briefs."

The Joyce Becker Soap Opera Festival is FREE with park admission. There will be two shows on June 29th at 1:00 and 3:00 in the International Showplace Theatre. "The fan following of these soap stars is incredible." said Becker, "They're less like stars to many people and more like family. Watching these shows is like peaking into someone's window five days a week."

Members of the cast of The Young and the Restless that are scheduled to appear are Christian LeBlanc, Greg Rikaart, Daniel Goddard and actress Emily O'Brien. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to bring questions for the cast and photography and video recording is welcome.

Just a few weeks ago on May 24th, nostalgia was in the air at Kings Island as Robbie Knievel attempted to surpass his father’s legendary 1975 jump in the parking lot. This Independence Day, the nostalgia returns!

In 1974, thousands in attendance at Kings Island watched in awe as the late great wire walker Karl Wallenda successfully completed an 1,800-skywalk right before their very eyes, setting a new world record. On July 4th, Karl’s grandson, Rick Wallenda, will attempt to break this record with two death-defying feats!

First, Wallenda will do a 'warm up' walk by walking on a thin 5/8" wire 112ft above International Street to cover a distance of 1,000'! This will happen at 2pm. Then at 7pm, Wallenda will do it again--he'll walk the 1,000' distance from the Eiffel Tower, over International Street, and into the parking lot and then turn around and do it AGAIN for a total record breaking distance of 2,000'! Wallenda will be performing both stunts with nothing between him and the ground -- no safety harness and no net -- except the 10,000 gallons of water spraying up at him from the Royal Fountain!

Is that not enough? The 4th of July will also feature special appearances by the Clown Band, the Hanna Barbera characters, an amazing air show, sky jumpers, jugglers, stilt walkers, mimes, music and more! ...and of course it will be topped off with the largest fireworks display in the 36 year history of the park!

All events are included FREE with park admission. Discount tickets are available by visiting Kings Island’s official web site, VisitKingsIsland.com!
