Daily operation is winding down at Coney Island. Below are the final operating hours for Coney`s 2008 season. If you haven`t made a trip out to Coney yet this year, you don`t have much time to waste!

Sunlite Pool is open 10am-8pm now through September 1st except for the following dates. August 25th through August 29th the pool is open 11am to 6pm. The final public operating day for Sunlight Pool is Labor Day, September 1st.

Coney`s Classic rides are open 1-8pm through this Friday, August 22. August 23 and 24 the rides are open 11am-9pm. Saturday August 29 the rides are open 11am-9pm. Sunday August 30th, the rides are open 11am-8pm and Labor Day, September 1st, the rides are open 11am-6pm.

Additionally, the rides will be open 12pm-6pm for the Fall-O-Ween Festival on September 20, 21, 27, and 28th. Admission is $9 for adults, and $6 for kids 12 and under. Discounted adult tickets can be purchased at area Kroger stores with a Kroger Plus Card beginning September 1st for $6. Parking for the event is $5 per car. (Kings Island is closed to the general public and pass holders on Sunday, September 21st which means it would be a great day to visit Coney Island!)

Thanks Robbie for posting this, because of a large job my work schedule needs to shift around which will put me in the Cincinnati area over the next two weekends and since I have not been to Coney Iskand lately I think this is a great opportunity to do so. Do you recommend one weekend over the other or even one day over the other?

I don`t know of any picnics this weekend (there are likely some though). Labor Day is going to be busy with the AFL-CIO annual picnic. Usually the Sunday before Labor day isn`t too crowded. A lot of people head down town that day for the Cincinnati Bell WEBN fireworks. I will likely be working doubles every single day both weekends.

Falloween sounds like an excellent time to go! I really despise the way KI closes in September, in my opinion the best weather month of the year. That's why I usually head up towards Cedar Point in September, but I may settle for Coney this year.

Remember that this weekend is the LAST weekend to experience Sunlite Pool for this year. After this weekend, Sunlite Pool will be closed to the general public until Memorial Day weekend, 2009. Coney`s classic rides will operate this weekend, and the final two weekends in September for the Fall-O-Ween Festival. This is, however, the final time for Coney Island season pass holders to experience the rides with their 2008 season passes.

Remember, Coney is only officially open two more days to the general public. Today, Sunday the 31st of August and tomorrow the 1st of September. Today, Sunday is not expected to be very busy as there are no large picnics especially compared with the large picnics planned on Monday.

Also note, that there are no live shows this weekend at Coney. Hours of operation for the rides are 11-8 on Sunday and 11-6 on Monday. Sunlite Pool is open 10-8 both today and Monday. Remember, that this is your last chance to experience the Zoom Flume before it meets the wrecking ball!

Season pass holders will get one more chance to experience the Zoom Flume and Sunlite Pool for the season next Sunday, September 7th from 12-4pm.
