Coney Island, a favorite summer pastime for families in Greater Cincinnati since 1886, will open its gates for the 2010 season on Saturday, May 29. The work that goes into reaching Coney's high standards for cleanliness, safety and customer service is a year-round process. While it may appear that things are just kicking into high gear at Coney Island, the work and planning involved in operating this popular family destination have been on going since the park closed last fall.

A very interesting read.

Especially the part about the number of returning employees. I know in the rides department, the rate of returning employees is about 70% this year!

And as another aside, Coney began filling Sunlite Pool today. The pool holds more than 3 million gallons of water. (By comparison, Kings Island`s wave pool only holds 600,000 gallons.
