2010 Kicks Into Full Swing This Weekend at Kings Island!

Recommended Posts

Summer's right around the corner, so you know what that means: Kings Island is just about to kick it into high gear... and boy do we have a lot to be excited about!

That's right - starting this Friday, May 21st, Kings Island will begin daily operations. That means you can enjoy all of the thrills and chills at Kings Island every day!

To top that off, Boomerang Bay - Kings Island's awesome Aussie themed water park - opens for the season on Saturday, May 22nd! Boomerang Bay is FREE with park admission.

Still not enough? On Memorial Day Weekend, May 29 - 31st, Kings Island will welcome back the high-flying thrills of the ASA Actions Sports World Tour. Top BMX and skateboarding professionals will leave the crowd in awe as they perform death-defying tricks on a 14' half-pipe at Kings Island.

All gave some and some gave all, but Kings Island is looking to give just a little bit back. On May 30th - 31st, active and retired members of the US military will receive FREE admission to Kings Island, and can purchase additional tickets for just $29.99 as a Tribute to the Armed Forces.

That's not all! Starting May 29th, guests at Kings Island will be in awe as Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular illuminates the night sky. With over two million high efficiency LED lights and an over 300' tower lit from top to bottom, this spectacle will be a must see every time you visit Kings Island!

But in which case it would not be utilized in the same manner, nor called the same as in Snoopy`s Starlight Spectacular. The same musings were posited for Cedar Point`s Starlight Experience last year. Not sure what parts, if any, were incorporated into their HalloWeekends event.

I am all for the company to add things to make the park look nice, and I know I am going to catch heck for saying this..... BUT....

Couldn't the million bucks be used on overall park improvements, i.e. continued cobblestone work, paint, landscaping, etc? I mean I know each department has their own budget, but if they added that money to more improvements through and through, wouldn't that be better.

I will remain optimistic, and I do plan to walk through the Starlight Experience to see it. I will give an honest review once said experience is revealed.

EDIT: Who knows, maybe I will end up loving the Starlight Experience.
