Pooping Pigeons Plop On Pop Concert In Missouri

Recommended Posts

ST. LOUIS, July 25 (UPI) -- The call of nature overcame the call to rock at a St. Louis concert venue when the Kings of Leon were forced offstage by a barrage of pigeon poop.

The band members were pelted with poop by birds sitting in the rafters of of the Verizon Ampetheatre Friday night, forcing the Kings to cancel their performance after three songs into their set, management told CNN.

"It's not only disgusting -- it's a toxic health hazard," Andy Mendelsohn of Vector Management, which represents the band, told CNN.

Bassist Jared Followill said he was hit in the face during the opening song, then on both arms during the next two songs.

"I was hit by pigeons on each of the first three songs," he said. "We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe."...

Verizon Pins Pigeongate On One Pest In Rafters:

By the way, this story (and its headline) ought to make companies think twice, or more, about associating their name with an arena/venue. Anything that happens there, good or bad, will end up being associated with the company. Verizon Wireless Ampitheater is not Verizon (Wireless...which the company no longer calls itself, by the way). But many will now associate Verizon with pigeon poop...if they didn't already! :)
