Kentucky Kingdom

Those have to be, by far, the biggest piece of crap restraints Ive ever seen in my Life. I say this, because FoFs OTSRs were before my Kings Island visiting days. These atrocities make Maverick's head-bangers look like the best thing since sliced bread! Since I am in no way one who goes to a park simply for one ride (Thunder Run), this will still be a park I can and will say Ive never been to.

Just curious, are you saying this due to the shin guards/restraints?

Just quoting part of the reverse POV here, censored the quote since it did use some adult language.

I couldn't help but smile at that reverse POV when they said, "We ******* Did it". Just the look of success of their face to having achieved a coaster they had been working so long on getting. I hope to get the 'chance' to ride it, it looks like a great coaster. I have to issue with the restraints, can't judge by looks alone but I think they look very comfortable. I don't care about swinging my legs around, just as long as I can put my hands up I am happy!

Unless they count Twisted Twins as two coasters( though I personally do since even though its a racing/diueling coaster they have different elements) that means they are adding another rollercoaster! Hmm wonder what that could be?

Yes it did and took my first ride just before midnight last night. Quick, precise transitions with loads of airtime all with a smoothness that rivals B&M if not beats it.

So what are your opinions about the restraints that folks seem to be worried about. comfy?

I'd be VERY careful what I posted here if I in any fashion worked for Ed Hart.

I'd be just as leery of asking opinions of park employees. You will get only what the park wants posted. Or...

Please don't put them in this position.

Kings Island made it quite clear employees were not to post Banshee ride impressions before Media Day.

A job, or jobs, could be at stake.

Sigh, I wish people would give us a break. First they complain about ride breakdowns expecting them to have 100% reliability the first day they even carry loads of people. Then they complain about lines. I don't think they realized just how many people were there today and also that safety being the number one concern, takes a little more time. Everyone I saw today worked so hard and it's a huge blow to them and me when people basically say "KK sucks, don't go there", "KI is better", "not worth the free ticket because of wait and food prices" which by the by aren't that bad. There were positive guest today that understood and were patient with us. All of ACE was incredible, such a positive group. I just hope next Saturday goes a little bit smoother.

Yes. Amazon reserved the park for a private event. Lines for Thunder Run were similar to that of The Beast at night in halloween. Very thick crowd at least in my area. Only ride over there that didn't have a decent wait was Mile High Falls due to temperature. All Amazon employees could bring friends and family so it was packed like Kings Island during Halloween Haunt.

Oof. That's rough. Hope it goes better for you, too.

That also explains why Kentucky Kingdom's opening day randomly switched from today to next week.

Glad to hear ACE was a bright point in the day. IOE issued a request via Facebook that ACE be patient with the employees, and I'm happy that they did so.

Something I hope guests noticed was how prompt we were at dealing with questions and request. An issue today for Thunder Run was line jumping. I had security escort a good number out of the park for that reason alone. I hope people see we are strict with our rules so people can enjoy themselves.

The park in my opinion was a success yesterday. The park has different vibe, a different look, a different attitude. I however did not get on any water attractions because I have common sense of not getting wet in 60 degrees weather, so I did not enjoy the park to the fullest. Food was cheap, merchandise was cheap, and that was without my season pass discounts. My only problem was the dirty old pavement. I asked employees about it and they said they were going to repave the grounds next week before opening.

Question for you guys,

Are lines at Kentucky Kingdom a good or a bad thing? From comments I have seen from news stories on facebook from Amazon employes, So many people are complaining that they only rode 2 or 3 rides in four or five hours simply because the lines in the park where so long. In my opinion, people are not use to Kentucky Kingdom having long lines. I really don't remember waiting in lines to ride rides are the park during the Six Flags era like I did yesterday. People were also commenting by the fact that Twisted Twins and T2 was closed. I wonder if they noticed that both rides where marks "Coming in 2015". "Coming in 2016" on the packets we received.

Well, any opening day event for a park will have longer lines than usual. I would only imagine they'll be longer when Kentucky Kingdom actually opens. However, give it a few weekends and I'm sure they'll die down a bit. Also realize that Kentucky Kingdom isn't 100% up and running yet, so they'll probably have the longer lines in comparison to when they were open during the Six Flags era when there were more lines to distribute guests.

Rome was not built in a day.

With any kind of decent weather, next Saturday at Kentucky Kingdom will be a combination of disaster, fiasco and circus. The park has been closed for years. Many will want to see it.

Many will. It's in the days and weeks thereafter the park will get its chance to thrive.
