Why couldn't I ride Vortex?

The associate is doing what they are supposed to do. Ensure YOUR 100% safety. Have you considered that the associate last year maybe, just maybe wasn't fulfilling their entire responsibility. I hate to think of it, but it's possible.

Not really, because I never needed an associate's assistance before.

Kawana,

First off, it's nice to see you here on the board again! :)

I can see where you are coming from...I would have hated to waste my time in line. Like you have said it's the inconsistency that is the frustrating part. The sad thing is, I don't think your comments will have the desired effect that you are hoping for. At my age I have learned that usually the opposite is true...instead of the park reading this and telling it's employees to help get that extra click...I see it more of a chance that a blanket policy of them telling their employees not to even attempt to get that extra click just so that there is consistency at each ride that the customer can count on.

Sometimes it's better just to be grateful for the employees who are willing to go that extra mile...but not to expect it.

Hopefully I will see you at a coaster event at the park...if they have one. :)

Nice to see you again standbyme. School is getting out so I might be a bit more active on the forums.

I'm grateful every time an employee helps me out, in any way.

In all actuality, I was just venting about a crappy day at the park, and this is what pushed me over the edge. Whichever direction the park wants to go, I'm fine with. Just be consistent. It all falls on management and training. This is not a Cedar Fair issue either, my company is negligent when it comes to management as well. It seems that people almost never want to do what they're supposed to and make sure that everyone is on the same page.

You do know you can go up the exit and they will let you test fit the ride seat/restraint. That way you don't have to wait in line all that time just to find out you can't ride.

Yes, I'm aware. I never had to before, so it didn't cross my mind.

Speaking of Cedar Point's rides restraints, does anyone know why their PTC trains on Mean Streak and Blue Streak are different than KI? at Kings Island, it seems like there are only a couple clicks on rides like The Racer. On Blue Streak and Mean Streak there are many little clicks on the lap bar a lot more close together, instead of the 3 or 4 very spaced out clicks on The Racer and Beast at KI?
