Kings Island New Website

You're right about that! See, it's that sort of thing that's surprising. It seems to really truly indicate that Kings Island representatives saw what we were saying here and made changes accordingly. It seems unlikely that they'd decide to go back and add trees, a loop, change colors, add dimensionality on rides like Vortex, etc. while we coincidentally mentioned those same (admittedly) insignificant things here. They paid attention. And there really was no reason to change those things except so that we would notice. Bravo, Kings Island representatives... If you read this, we noticed!

When I heard Kings Island got a new website today, I knew there would be a lot of talk on here. The map dosen't say the rides name where the ride is located, so we don't know if The Crypt is The Crypt. Son of Beast isn't on the map, so that kind of comfirms no operation for 2012 (But that was thought very likely already). Gonna seach the internet and hope to find something like 'Crypt is not being torn down" but probably not :( .

Gary,

I had not known that KI discontinued the practice of only one lap on the lazy river a few seasons back. The last time I went to KI`s water park to swim, was the season pass preview weekend for Boomerang Bay, back in 2004! I definitely will be hitting it up this year though!

Did anyone else notice that if you search "Son of Beast" on their website it brings up 3 results!

Yeah, and none of them talk about the ride operating now or in the future. Please, until further notice, consider Son of Beast to be decorative and nothing more. Or, better yet, do as Kings Island would want you and pretend it does not exist.

Son of Beast reads in your avatar, because you want to know what this thing is? Or is it a person? Yeah, probably a person. I like that wooden structure under your post, to bad nothing like that has or ever will be made or opened. Congrats on 100 posts, I make a big deal when I do it, so congratulations! Son of Beast, what Beast? Defnetly not the roller coaster, some sort of Beast.

Just a couple of thoughts-

I love the new park map. The details are great! Thumbs up Kings Island!

Second of all, Fast Lane IMO is going a little overboard. I mean, do we really need that on the Eiffel Tower? Next thing you know, they'll put it on some made up ride like Son of Beast or The Crypt.

Lastly, on the park map, why are The Racer trains white? Sorry, a little detail I just noticed. :P

WOW. The new website for Kings Island is very, very nice...and the park map is VASTLY improved over last year's, thanks to some error fixes and...TREES! And the map is STILL very easy to use for navigation because the trees aren't huge. Nice job, KI!

As for Crypt...ouch. There goes ANOTHER $20,000,000 Paramount-era ride that was very hyped up possibly down the toilet. At least Son of Beast now has a friend in SBNO land. :P Perhaps Cedar Fair has something planned for these two, perhaps not and they are both to be demolished to make room for new rides...

http://www.cedarpoint.com has also been updated to the same look.

Hasn't that been the layout they have been using for awhile? Plus it's not the same layout as KI, KD, CW, Knotts, or Soak City

Also they updated http://www.knotts.com/, http://www.canadaswonderland.com/, http://www.kingsdominion.com/, and http://www.soakcitycp.com/

Edit: CP just showed up for me.

^^ Interesting, but not surprising. Down for a year or down for the count? I'd imagine it's the latter. RIP Giant Top Spin. You were a good ride for a year or two, and get an A for effort for a few years after that.

I've seen a few Top Spin rides down for along time. Geauga Lake had one that was down every time i went.
