To those who would try to bend the rules, , how would you feel if it were your parent, your sibling, your spouse or your child who was seriously hurt because of someone who cared more about getting that shot than about the safety of their fellow human being?

People are watching way too many youtube pov videos and are just itching to put their own pov video on it, regardless of what the law states, or getting yelled at by the ride operators. One way to combat people attempting to video or take pictures on the ride is to kick them out of the park and next time, have their season pass voided.

If they are kicked out of the park after being warned and or having the season pass voided and if they come in again and try the same stunt, then arrest them and tell them they are banned from the park for a year and any attempt to enter again will be considered as trespassing. The issue is this is a severe violation of the safety rules and can result in injury to themselves or others. Once they are escorted to the security office if they refuse to heed warnings, they might think twice. More so if they are a repeat violators and a officer from Mason PD is contacted.

I know this is a rather old thread, but can anyone provide a link or direct quote which explicitly says that recording on rides is illegal? I've heard the phrase muttered many times by both guests and ride operators over the years, but I'm still not quite convinced it is actually a state law.

I've always wondered about this, but what about the person that sticks their cell phone/camera out over the railing on the Eiffel Tower trying to get a selfie, and then drops their device? I know most people know better, but the lack of common sense among the general public amazes me.  I would think taking pictures up on the Eiffel Tower could be as dangerous as taking pics or video on rides, if the person is not acting in a responsible manner.

^ They can still get into trouble, as they are sticking an insecure object outside of the bars of the platform.

I've honestly tried searching for the law myself, and I have yet to find anything about video recording or photography on rides.

But since the park is displaying the warnings and directions (1711.551 B-3) as a rule that you cannot take video/photography on rides, then it's breaking the law.
