For years, forums like these were largely ignored by most parks. Now, they are indeed seen by many as a valued resource to not just passively gather information but also float trial balloons, correct misunderstandings and misinformation and to make superfans feel special. The niche is totally different than FaceBook, Twitter and similar social networking.

That being said, it is clearly a niche and not representative of the parks' overall customer bases.

I think Kings Island is just in a transitional stage and it's in the process of becoming great. There were a lot of rides that needed to be done away with and areas that need attention, and I think they're just gonna tackle everything one step at a time based on a priority-need basis.

The two longest coasters in the world are Steel Dragon 2000 and Ultimate. Neither is at Kings Island. Beast is third.

Over half of Kings Island's existing acreage is developed. The next major project at Kings Island may well be a surprising diversion, but it isn't likely to be the longest coaster in the world, much less two of them! It's probable it will be large, spectacular and not too aggressive. A diversion...,

OK, this is probably random, but there was also another coaster longer than Beast once...it's name was Daidarasaurus @ Expoland (yeah, weird name, eh?). It originally opened in 1970 as a twin-tracked racing coaster, but later it was combined into 1 coaster with a 7,677 foot track length- which was a world record until Steel Dragon 2000 opened. However, the park it was in closed, and Daidarasaurus was demolished in 2008- the longest roller coaster ever to be demolished.

The TALLEST roller coaster ever demolished, BTW, is Moonsault Scramble @ Fuji-Q Highland. A shuttle loop coaster, Moonsault Scramble stood 229.7 feet tall and reached speed of 55.9mph, and riders reached a whopping 6.2 Gs! Perhaps that's why it was eventually closed, eh?

And an interesting note- the 2nd tallest and 2nd longest coaster ever demolished are the same thing, if one gives Speed: The Ride @ NASCAR Cafe a pass since it is being re-located and will re-open in a new form. That ride's name...Son of Beast. Nuff said.
