Bag stolen at Kings Island, think it was my friend or accomplice

First, I know this is long, but please read it! I just need your alls opinions. It would mean so much to me!

So I went to Kings Island with 5 of my really good friends from Louisville, along with what I thought was another "friend" of mine from Powell, a suburb of Colombus. We will call her Taylor. I had been talking to Taylor for over a year, we played Xbox online together, Skyped, iMessaged, Facebooked, Instagramed. I thought this would be a good time to meet her because I was in such a large group of people i knew well in a very public place.

We got to the park around 12, Taylor got there around 1:45. We ate, rode Woodstock, The Racers, and then went to The Beast. We waited in line for about 15 minutes. I put my bag in the cubby for train 2. I was the last one to put my bag in and then the ride OP closed the bin. We came back, I jumped out and jogged to the bin, I watched everyone grab their bags and I did not see anyone take mine. I went to get mine and it was gone. Taylor and the rest of my group was already halfway down the exit ramp. I ran to them to try to get them to stop everyone so I could go down there and check every person one by one, but they couldn't here me yelling. I went back to the ride OP and asked him to check for my bag. He lift up bag after bag in every bin but none were mine. I ran back to my group and I immediately tried using the FindMyiPhone app to track my iPhone. In under 2 minutes both me and Katie's iPhones had already been turned off. Me and Katie were then escorted to security where we both filed separate police reports. While we were filling out our paperwork the officer came back in and said a sweeper found our wallets. I got mine back and the only thing taken out were my credit cards and cash, while Taylor's was completely empty. Taylor also got her keys back. Suspicion #1, why would Taylor get her keys back but not mine. That doesn't make sense. I think they were going to try to find my car, open it and look for valuables. After we finished filing the police reports we met up with the rest of our group out on a bench by the front gate. Taylor kept borrowing my friend's phone to call her "mom". She was cussing and flipping out for a good 10-15 minutes on the phone, but when my friend got her phone back she checked and Taylor had only made two phone calls to the same number, the first lasting 29 seconds, and the second lasting 31 seconds. We called back the number and it went to voicemail. It was a personalized voicemail and it was indeed Taylor's mom, the last names matched and it sounded like a middle aged woman. Suspicion #2: Why would Taylor fake freak out on the phone? I think she called her accomplice for the rest of the time and they were arguing over what to do with my stuff and then just deleted the call from the phone's call history. I am having my friend go online and check her call records to make sure. After that, Taylor left without saying bye to the rest of the group. She just left. Suspicion #3: Why would she leave right after getting out of security? Wouldn't she want to stay to see if they found anything else?

We left around 8, while Taylor left around 4:30. On our ride home my friends decided to try and call Taylor's phone, she answered. We asked who it was and she said "Oh, it's Taylor ****". We hung up. We wanted to make sure she wasn't just using an old phone she had lying around the house, so we sent a message from my friend's iPhone, it went through as an iMessage and showed "Read 8:49 PM". Suspicion #4: It was odd enough for her to have a phone with the same phone number as she had AT&T, she "lost" her sim card when her phone was "stolen". How would she have a new sim card already? And how would she already have a new iPhone in less than 4 hours after it happened? Then something very weird happened. Today I received a phone call from Clintonville OH Police Department stating they found my credit cards and Taylor's credit cards ditched on the side of a highway. I texted Taylor and asked where Clintonville is, as I live in KY, not OH. She told me she had never heard of it before and that it was apparently 30 minutes SOUTH of Colombus. I Google Mapped it and it was North of Colombus, right by Powell. Taylor lives in Powell. Suspicion #5: That is a little too convenient that the cards were found less than 10 minutes from her. How has she not heard of Clintonville when she lives 10 minutes from it. She also stated that her mom had already purchased her a new iPhone, but when I asked her to send me a picture of the receipt she said that "You should trust me! You know me! I would never steal anything from you! Please just trust me!" After finding out about the credit cards and where they were found I once again contacted Kings Island and explained to them why I suspected Taylor played a part in the theft of my bag and belongings. I asked if they would look over the security tape footage again and see if they could find any evidence of Taylor meeting up or talking with someone else before she met up with me. They said they would take another look and would give me a call back. What do you all think? Guilty or coincidence?

I think: I'm not saying anything just because personally this isn't the place for such a historette.

Go with the course my fair lad, they will find out, and do the proper procedure, until then, I don't know.

Sad to what this world has come to. I know what it feels like to get things stolen from them. This is why I never bring anything of value into the park or leave it the car. Cellphone stays at home. WIthin the past year or so I have had my car broken in twice, my neighbors broken into once, and a friend robbed at gun point. What ever happened to helping other people out and not steeling from them.

Clintonville is a neighborhood within Columbus, and does not have their own Police force. Was it perhaps Circleville instead?

Circleville is south of Columbus by about 30 miles. (Clintonville the neighborhood starts four miles north of the Statehouse and goes north for several miles)

Being from Columbus a lot of people here don't know where Clintonville is and its just north of campus, but a small tight nit community. Powell is generally known for being a very nice place to live and most of the people there have no need to steal anything from anybody! That doesn't mean she didn't steal from you but I wouldn't jump to conclusions, let everything settle down and choose your friends from there. Let it be a learning lesson, and move forward, you wont even remember this when your my age! :P

You just might have to consider it as a lesson learned. Cancel all credit cards, replace your drivers license if stolen along with you social security card. The park recommends locking anything of value in your car or locker. I would not place any wallet, cell phone, car keys or anything else of value in those storage bins.

I'm sorry your stuff was stolen.

Hint #1: Don't bring a bag with valuables into the park.

Hint #2: Wear clothing that: buttons, velcros, or zips for a small amount of cash, ID, credit card, and a car key.

.

Hint #3: Leave the cell phone in the car. Enjoy the park without being attached to the outside World for a few hours.

Hint #4: If you MUST have a bag full of stuff, spend the $$ for a locker. It's cheaper than what you are currently going through.

I bought what my kids like to call my KI shorts, they know were going when I put them on! They have a pocket that buttons up good on the side where I keep my car key, ID, Credit card, KI passes and my phone. All of this is in a bag that fits snug in my shorts, that I know beyond a doubt isn't leaving my side! Bins are for stuff you want somebody to steal, because that's what your asking for!

Some days you are the bug and some days you are the windshield.

Sorry this happened.

I have never heard this, but I heard it twice today now! I needed an id card to enter a building today and it didn't work so I had to go back and have it fixed when somebody said the same quote! That's so funny, I cant believe it! Wow.

I'm sorry this happened. I learned from experience to just carry a waterproof plastic case with a hooking attachment to clip it to my belt loop. Just my card, some money and a few smokes. I don't even take a phone with me.

It's a terrible, sick feeling to have your things taken, I know.

I don't know what to think about your acquaintance's behavior. I can't judge.

I know the park tries their best to help.

..... She also stated that her mom had already purchased her a new iPhone,

Powell is the kind of place where a mom might run out and immediately buy a new iPhone if her daughter was throwing a fit because her phone was lost/stolen.

Police Department stating they found my credit cards and Taylor's credit cards ditched on the side of a highway.

It would be quite interesting if Taylor ditched her own credit cards along the side of the highway like that. Do you know whether her cards had already been turned off?

//

I'm not suggesting whether anybody is guilty or not, only curious. I think I just have a little Scooby Doo inside me trying to figure out a mystery.

Sorry to hear of your loss, too.

above poster is right. I am in college, and I have been robbed at gunpoint twice now. They will go for easy and quick not have someone pay to get into a park with the hopes that you have something worth while. That being said...those are a lot of coincidences. I can't say it's not her but honestly it doesn't make sense (unless all accomplices had passes and saw it as an oppurtuinity to have fun and hit a lick).

If I had my things stolen the first thing I would do is get a new cell phone so I could call and cancel my cards. I would definately have a new one within 3 and a half hours.

I'm thinking you had someone follow you for a ride or two and listen in on your conversation. Maybe they tried using the cards near where Taylor lives so it would be less suspicious and harder for her to dispute a charge.

And maybe I missed something because frankly that was the longest post I've ever attempted to read on here. Excuse me for skimming a little.

How on Earth did police find your credit cards ditched alongside a highway? That may have been one of the strangest coincidences in the whole story.

Even if some random police department found credit cards out in the wild, how would they get in contact with you? Credit card companies typically won't release any personal information. The police would report the card lost or stolen, and then the credit card company would contact you if anything. Are you sure that this random call from police was even legit...did that number trace back to the actual police department?

I just find this odd that the OP posted this at 8:20ish last night...last sign on was at 11 pm last night and not a reply or other post made. If I was trying to seek advice on such a case of what to do, get my story out there, I'd be engaging in conversation especially if it deals with stolen items.

Something to me about this doesn't seem right.
